prompt about scheduling my job quickly
prompt about scheduling my job quickly. Fabricator was great. His installation was very fast. .. but That’s where it ends though. Never returned to fix the damages he caused in my kitchen(I actually have that in his writing) . Messed up drywall in particular. Told me that “it wasn’t his responsibility” but put it in writing that he would be back out to have it repaired. Surprise! He Never came back. When my husband called and text, he never returned calls.. nothing. By the way , Ive Never heard of a policy like that. I always thought when A contractor comes into your home and leaves damage they fix it. Not according to the owner.
What was a $3100 job turned into a $4000 job Because he slipped a $800 extra charge in there at the end.
Did give me the 862.00 to fix my cabinets that he damaged but not without a bunch of whining .
Back to that extra $800.00 .
all of the sudden when he wanted to be paid before the job was completed, the bill went up by An extra $800. (for no good reason except obviously to make his money back somehow after spliiting my cabinets down the middle durind the tearout . ) He claimed it was for the cost of the slab .
But the Problem with that extra slab fee ? Well, That $800 was already figured into the first estimate and he asked for THAT SLAB FEE as a down payment to start the job .
Pretty obvious he needed to make that $862.00 In cabinet damages back to where he could cover the cost of the cabinets he had to pay for. Shady, shady..
Let’s see what else..
He also Installed damaged countertops the first go around. In order to do another tear out and install Undamaged countertops(What I actually paid for) , he demanded all of his money ( including the extra $800.00 Before he did the job correctly or he would maybe “get around to my job in three months or so. “ When I told him I had never heard of a contractor wanting money in full before the job was done correctly , he threatened to “ take me to court”.
This guy was recommended by a realtor that flips homes to rent out. So its fair to say This company is used to doing rental homes and wasn’t counting on somebody that actually wanted their counters done right.
He did boast that he is the cheapest in town, which is probably true because the tile is bought faulty ( Mine was sun damaged ) . He was obviously hoping I wouldn’t notice.
He also informed me that he used to be a probation officer As some sort of maybe scare tactic i guess ? Kind of makes me wonder why he’s not doing that profession anymore.
Steer clear. .
