Charged My Card, Ignored My Emails, Canceled My Order
I placed an order for a New York Knicks leather jacket totaling over $600 and waited more than a week with no updates. During that time, I sent multiple follow-up emails asking for information about my order and received absolutely no response.
Instead of communicating proactively, the company simply sat on my funds and eventually sent a generic cancellation email with no meaningful explanation, nor even the courtesy of responding to the messages I had already sent.
Accepting orders you obviously cannot fulfill, holding customer funds, ignoring follow-up comms is not a supply chain problem, it's a customer service failure.
The cancellation itself isn't why I'm leaving this review. The lack of communication, lack of accountability, and complete disregard for the customer experience are.
The entire experience reflects poorly on Starter's inventory management, order fulfillment processes, and communication standards. If your systems are unable to accurately track available inventory before charging customers, that's a business problem. If your customer service team cannot respond to basic order inquiries, that's a business problem. If your solution is to simply disappear until sending a cancellation email, that's a business choice. There are countless places to buy sports apparel and jackets. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend spending your money elsewhere.
