Extremely poor experience – £5,400 deposit never returned

Our experience with Stampcrete UK Ltd and its director, Andrew Flowers, has been appalling.

We paid a £5,400 deposit under a written contract. No work was ever carried out. A refund was subsequently agreed, but despite this, our money was never returned.

We feel our money has effectively been stolen from us. We were forced to take legal action and the court found in our favour, entering judgment against Stampcrete UK Ltd for £5,906.91. Despite the judgment, we have still not been paid and the matter has now progressed to High Court enforcement.

Potential customers should also be aware that a separate company named Stampcrete Global Ltd has since been incorporated. Anyone considering dealing with Andrew Flowers or either Stampcrete business should, in our view, carry out their own checks and be extremely cautious before handing over any money.

Everything stated about our own case is supported by our contract, payment records, correspondence and court documentation.

Based on our experience, we absolutely would not recommend this company.

The work completed was very poor. The patio is uneven dipping down in 1 corner. Had to get a surveyor to write a report for the court and the hardcore used was waste material. Due to the plastic having creases when laid the patio has now cracked in several places after six months. There is a CCJ against the owner which is not being settled. Whilst communications have repeatedly promised payment nothing has materialised to date. Still looking for Mr Flowers so he can settle his CCJ. Contractor is dishonest and untrustworthy.

We are extremely disappointed with the work carried out by Andy at Stampcrete on our patio project.

The original target for completion was December 2024, yet the work was not finished until almost a year later. While we fully appreciate that this was a large and complex job—particularly with a pool incorporated—this level of delay was far beyond reasonable expectations.

Unfortunately, the quality of the work has been even more concerning than the timeline. The first section of the patio was laid significantly out of level. The issue is so severe that a pergola we have since purchased and paid to have installed cannot be fitted. It is currently sitting unused while we try to work out how to rectify the problem.

We made it very clear before the next section was completed that levelling needed to be addressed. Despite this, the second section is even worse—it slopes so dramatically that it is effectively unusable. It is impossible to place any outdoor furniture on it due to the gradient.

This project represented a significant financial investment for us, and we had hoped for a long-term, high-quality outdoor space. Instead, we are left with a patio that is not only impractical but will likely require extensive and costly redesign to correct.

What should have been a place to relax and unwind has instead become a constant source of stress and disappointment. We are genuinely gutted with the outcome.
