Really disappointed with what I received. Wish I had checked the reviews before ordering. Cushion cover is not from Japan, and came from China. Cherry blossom advertised is actually just seeds. Took ages to arrive and I received some dodgy package with a sealed bag of seed/pods but nothing was labelled. I had no idea what it was and where it came from and ended up chucking them. When I contacted the company they said it would have been labelled and they won't refund me. I believe everything on their site comes from China and the site is a total scam. Better to get it from Shein for cheaper and quicker delivery in that case. That is probably where they get it from in the first place anyway. Avoid this site.

Neither of my two plants survived the trip across the ocean I guess. The help guide that comes with the plant says give them time, they will recover. Mine did not.

I received my wisteria bonsai about 4 weeks ago, it looks really healthy and has settled in well. I’ve had feedback that it should be outside and will not flourish inside so that has left me with mixed feelings, however right now, I’m very happy with my bonsai, the experience and direct customer support has been great so a big thumbs up from me.

2 Bonsais received per my order, the Gingko was without any foliage. Contacted SJ and great insight on the plants in a semi-dormant state. Replanted them and awaiting hopefully recovery and looking forward to watching them grow. Ordered a bonsai bowl for one bonsai and it is very small but used it for
other seedlings I had to see if they grow. Ordered 4 cushions with Japanese designs and although made in China, they look nice and fit well. Will share bonsai photos with the company as the trees grow. Very good, helpful communication with the customer service. Domo-arigato.

From ordering to arriving it was great. It did take a while to arrive but the tree is quality and sprung into life very quickly and within a few weeks I had 6 blossoms on her that have bloomed and look lovely. A memorial tree to a special dog we lost in January and I’m sure Kensi has allot to do with this little tree coming to life so quickly.

I waited in anticipation for the arrival of my Sakura Cherry Blossom Kokedama Bonsai from Spirit of Japan and when it arrived I wasn't disappointed

I am very pleased with my bonsai tree. It had all of its leaves intact and is beautiful. The first tree that was shipped to me was lost somehow. Yuki had a replacement shipped out and it arrived quickly.

Ordered January 7th, recieved Febuary 2nd. It was covered in mold when i opened the package. Like a grey me mold. So i am kind of worried the plant wont grow well. If it doesnt grow it will be a while before i find out. So i doubt they will help me. I constantly checked on the order they did reassure it would be delivered. It is a legit site. And they have great comunication. How ever i am truly worried now that this plant wont make it. I took photos upon opening of all the mold.

I ordered two Kokedama bonsai trees from Spirit of Japan after receiving one as a Christmas gift from my wife. She encountered a problem with the shipping /delivery. She contacted them and they worked to sort it out. I got my gift a few days after Christmas but it was worth the wait. These trees are very unique. I have a bonsai collection on my garden but hadn’t ever seen Kokedama before. I too encountered a mix up in the delivery process and emailed them immediately. Tracking numbers were mixed up in the carrier’s system and showed my trees out for delivery in Bronx New York. Within one hour they sorted out the problem and I received my trees. They are bare leaf due to the season but have buds on them signaling they will leaf out once spring comes. It is essential that they be kept damp until growing season. I’m really looking forward to seeing them in full bloom.

First off, communication with SOJ has been excellent from day one, answering and helping with any questions I have. Plants arrived 16days after order. I consider that to be excellent in a busy time of the year. Our Momiji & Gingko arrived in fantastic condition, with the mossball still holding a good amoumt of moisture. So excited for my Bonsai journey ahead and most definitely reccomend Spirit of Japan

I purchased a kokodema bonsai from Spirit of Japan for a Christmas present for my partner. Shipping took a very long time, and when I received the bonsai, it was completely dead.

I contacted Spirit of Japan, and they offered to remove the "handling" fee, but insisted on charging shipping for the replacement. In the hopes of getting a better result, I foolishly took them up on the offer.

25 days later, the replacement arrived, and while technically alive, it dropped almost all of its leaves inside the package and does not appear healthy at all, and nothing like the bonsai pictured on the site.

I'm unhappy, and the person who was to receive the bonsai is very unhappy. A bad experience all around.

I received my bonsai from spirit of Japan within 2weeks it arrived in great condition only lost 2 leaves on the trip but in a few days it was sprouting more growth I love it and all information is given on how to look after its health they are also very good on replying to your messages unlike other places who never reply definitely recommended

Received my Japanese maple in very good condition, very well packaged. I am extremely happy and look forward to watching my bonsai develop

Never again.!!! I bought 2 grown bonsais and one didn't make it. I followed the instructions and it still didn't make it. It was probably not alive when it was sent to me and the other one is hanging on bit looks like it's not going to make it either. Quite expensive for not so healthy plants

I ordered what was advertised as a ‘fully grown’ and mature bonsai. Received a pre-bonsai tree which has had no grooming and contained no leaves after the shipping process. The company does not offer refunds or exchanges for bonsai, which is not made clear in advance. Packages allegedly come from China but don’t include any customs markings. Very shady.

I’m very happy. I wondered when delivery would be, and they responded immediately. My bonsai looks exactly like the one shown on the website. I couldn’t be happier..and I can’t wait to purchase another!

I purchased 2 grown bonsai trees in early Dec for Christmas presents. Both were in good shape it seemed when received; however, both have failed to produce any buds on the trunk. Directions and watering were followed to a T. Very disappointed and a waste of money at almost $90 a piece.

My order arrived yesterday and only took 13 days to get here (Melbourne Australia) It was expertly packed and arrived in beautiful condition with no leaves lost (Maple) and with beautiful green moss. After following the watering instructions and leaving the tree to rehydrate itself overnight, today its has started to unfold and looks magnificent. Originally I was hesitant in ordering but thought I’d give it a go as a Xmas present to myself and now I seriously can’t wait to order another at this weeks end.
I found Spirit Of Japan to be absolute legends and during the process my one email was treated quickly with all the information I needed.
10/10 for me and will order again for myself and as presents for friends and family.
