SPECTRUM INEFFICIENCY - Left hand doesn't know what the right hand did

In the first two weeks of engaging with Spectrum, they have shown to be a very inefficient company.
We signed up at the end of June to have Spectrum and the salesman arranged to have it installed on July 1 between 3:00-4:00. A Spectrum installer and a trainee arrived around 5:00 pm. The hub is across the road, so the fiber cable was connected, run up a telephone pole, across the road to the telephone pole on our side of the road, then draped to a corner of my house. The fiber cable was then run down and clipped across the siding to a box placed on the side of the house, then around to the back of the house and into the house. A modem and a router were put in place and connection established.
The NEXT DAY, another installer came by, expecting to connect us and left without doing anything since we were already connected.
FIVE days later, someone (Miss Dig?) came by and scanned for buried cables or gas lines and put flags in my yard. I called Spectrum and was informed there was an outstanding order to bury the cable later the same day and that I did not need to be home for the work to be done.
No one showed up for 2 days and I received the first bill which had my name misspelled as Wierbecia instead of Wierzbicki.
I created my online account access and corrected the spelling of my name. Then I called their Customer Service again and reported:
(1) the misspelling of my name,
(2) reported the cable has not yet been buried, and
(3) questioned why the account shows router connected but fiber modem not connected, yet I do have service. Customer Service said a signal could be sent or I could troubleshoot when convenient for me. They also said there was still an outstanding order to bury the cable and it was scheduled for July 20; and that Spectrum preferred to have the fiber cable buried.
AND -- then on July 11 (not the 20th), a Spectrum truck came to bury the cable. He looked at the fiber cable hanging from telephone pole to the house and attached to the house and box and said it's adequately connected so he DID NOT BURY the cable.
I have yet to resolve the troubleshooting for fiber modem connectivity and will do so within the next few days. But this experience with Spectrum so far does not instill confidence on my part. This appears to be an example of significant inefficiency and lack of organization and communication on the part of this company.

Spectrum?? WTF is Spectrum???

Spectrum is spamming me!
The last couple of months Spectrum (Who? Never heard of!) has sent me emails. Copy & paste: This is due to another person called Jesus who has given Spectrum my email address without asking. He keeps on renewing his subscription.
Marking as spam doesn't work. Why doesn't Spectrum send an authentication email before creating account? How is it possible for someone else to use my email this way? How do I make them STOP sending me emails?

A happy Spectrum subscriber

I've been a Spectrum subscriber for TV, internet, Wi-Fi, and mobile since 2018 with zero problems. Furthermore, their tech-support is open 24/7, and their agents are all that is helpful and respectful.

Cheats and Thieves

I’ve had ongoing service issues for the past two years, but the past week has been especially unacceptable. I’ve had three separate service calls, including a technician coming out, and the problem is still not resolved.
When I attempted to cancel my service today, the experience was just as frustrating. It took over 20 minutes of repeatedly saying “no” to retention offers before they would even process the cancellation. Even after all that, they are still trying to charge me for the entire month—even though I’m canceling less than a week into the billing cycle.
Between the repeated failure to fix the issue and the difficulty canceling, this has been an extremely disappointing experience. I would strongly caution others before signing up, as the customer support and service reliability have not met expectations.

Cold emailing my business, in Scotland

Im based in Scotland and this company constantly spam me with ‘would you like to join our fiber roll out etc etc’

They are based in the US. I’ve replied twice now asking to have my data removed (and confirmed) from their database, clear breach of GDPR (and their state’s Texas Data Privacy and Security Act). I get no reply and then 6 months later another email.

Charter Non-Prorated Policy

Fyi, Charter Spectrum doesn't prorate their bill after the new billing cycle. That means, just 1 or 2 days into the new billing cycle, if you terminate Charters services, you have to pay for the full month. Doesn't sound fair or right to me. However, Oregon allows this practice. So, make sure you terminate at the end of the billing cycle. I've been with Charter for a long time. I have never heard of their non-prorated policy. I guess, they keep it hush.

Spectrum agents lied twice, costing me $1,300 - they refuse to make it right.

LIE #1 - $1,000 Loss:
Spectrum salesman promised $500 per line for my 2 kids' phones when transferring from Xfinity. I explained I could only transfer the kids' lines 4 months later due to Xfinity's policy. He assured me this was fine. When I tried to claim the $1,000 ($500 x 2), Spectrum said it was invalid because I didn't purchase within 30 days. They admitted the salesman "probably told me that to get me to switch on the spot rather than waiting to make his quota."
LIE #2 - $300 Loss:
Called to enable international calling. Agent said she'd add it to my plan. Instead, she secretly switched ALL lines to a $10 extra plan. Returned from vacation to a $400 bill with $300 in international charges. They apologized but refused to adjust the cost.
Total damage: $1,300 from deliberate deception by Spectrum employees.
Spectrum admitted their salesman lied to meet quota, yet won't honor the deal or compensate me for their fraud. This is completely unacceptable business practice.

Our community was undergoing update…

Our community was undergoing update work and after their digging in our area the attached picture shows how they left their work for 5 days and when we returned home everything was still the same with the exception that the can was still open but someone had cut the line customer service 4 days ago was supposed to have some one contact me and being disabled my neighbor actually fixed it and but the box back together this is spectrum not even coming out to oversee the 3rd party companies work. This is just more crappy service and support we have seen ever sense the purchased brighthouse. Unable to supply phot on this site but I do have it for future reference

Spectrum is a company that will never…

Spectrum is a company that will never survive beyond their existing but shrinking customer base. They are currently the only gave in town with high speed internet at a decent price point. However...buyer beware, they are sneaky with price increases, terrible customer service, deceitful sales people. If you have any other means of obtaining Internet service, do it!! Spectrum will soon be loosing customers by the truckload when Amazon rolls out their Internet offering via satellite. Charter Communications/Spectrum customers will not forget how greedy and shifty this company really is.

Spectrum Worst Provider!

This review pertains to the Winston-Salem North Carolina location at the mall on Hanes Mall Boulevard and the several Representatives I spoke to over the phone who are located who knows where. Somehow someone fraudulently opened an account using one or more pieces of my information. Every time I tried calling back in I got inconsistent information from the customer Representatives. No one seemed to agree on how to handle fraud. And I was given no assurances that it would not happen again. I asked if there was some way to put a hold on my account and they said no. I asked if there was a way to block any new accounts related to my name from being created and they said no . If I could switch tomorrow I would but unfortunately they are the only Communications provider in my area.

Furthermore, every time I go into their Spectrum store they are not transparent at all in their Communications. I'm never given any printouts, I'm never sent any emails to confirm anything that they've said. That just seems like they're trying to cover themselves legally if something happens.

Ruined my credit with a false bill

I am in disbelief on how awful Charter is. We had their services about 2 years ago, it wasnt the best but it worked most the time. We bought a house in the country and Charter was not offer there. I reached out to them and canceled my service. They had me pay my balance and told me to return all my equipment, I returned all my equipment at the charter in Kalamazoo MI and verified that I didnt owe anything. Here we are two years later and there is a bill on my credit for $400. I worked so hard to keep my credit clean, and they screwed it with a bill I never owed.

Spectrum.net is an unreliable service

Spectrum.net is a unreliable service. High usage times are a nightly occurrence where the service is lost.
Of course, right at a critical point in the movie. The sneak in increases in monthly services regularly by adding $3.00 to $5.00 every few months. They even go sofar as to send you a memo of how the have increased your internet speed at no additional charge. This has never been proven, as I live in an apartment building with a shared service. I only notice an increase of at least once daily a lost connection. Customer service is extremely rude! Paying $93.00 per month for a completely fraudulent service is just wrong!

Below one star

Below one star. This company does business illegally - advertises rates that are nonexistent - and does not credit the customer when outages exceed their guarantee. States that allow Spectrum to do business this way are also compromising their reputation. Its always shocking to encounter large companies that prefer to do business dishonestly.

pectrum Mobile's has misleading…

pectrum Mobile's has misleading advertisements and deceptive practices. Spectrum claims to offer a phone buyout program up to $500 per phone, but this is far from the truth due to numerous hidden conditions.

Firstly, there is a cap on the reimbursement amount, despite the promise of a $500 buyout per phone. Additionally, the process includes a soft credit check, and the reimbursement amount is contingent upon the results of this check. When I requested the policies that determine the reimbursement eligibility, Spectrum refused to provide this information.

This lack of transparency and misleading advertisement is unacceptable. I expect Spectrum to honor their advertised promises or provide clear and upfront information about all conditions and limitations.

False Advertising!

So, Charter Communications released a brand new promotion that claims to aid new and existing customers. This promotion is on their corporate website guaranteeing better speeds and more choices for their customers.

One such option is getting the 1GB internet service for $40 when bundled with 2 lines of Mobile 'AND/OR' Video Service. Upon contacting Spectrum/Charter about this because I was confused about pricing and billing. I was told that this only applies to NEW customers, so the current existing customers who have been with Charter are pretty much shafted on this promotion as I wanted to bundle my Internet with 2 lines of their mobile service that I have for myself and my son.

Their website does NOT state this is only for new customers. So now I am looking at a bill of $85 for my internet instead of the $40 a month AND a $95 dollar month for the mobile. The mobile I am fine with, but why is my internet bill NOT lowered to $40 and instead placed at $85?

This is false advertising, I have even taken a screenshot of what is posted on their website. This is ridiculous, they claim to want to keep customers yet negate existing customers from being able to partake of the promotional deal!?

1/5 stars 1/10 for customer loyalty on this companys' behalf. This better get fixed or I would suggest we all who are existing customers take this up with the BBB.

Do the Math!

I recently went with a different service provider. When I called Charter to cancel service, they informed that they don't prorate. Is it that no one there can do the math? I feel I've been cheated out of $95 dollars. Yes, Charter was charging me an exorbitant rate for crappy wi-fi, and I had just paid my bill.
What's almost amusing is that the person at Charter was in for the hard sell, telling me how much I would save if I just put my cell phone, cable TV and my Internet with them. The fact that I felt like they stole $95 dollars from me doesn't make me want to ever do business with them again.
Really Charter? If you want my business, stop ramping up rates and learn how to do the math.

Messed up my move

Messed up my move. Back charged me for service for old address even after asking for cancellation. Dishonest billing and the right hand doesn't have a clue of what the left is ripping off.
