My new apartment vents are very loud, like I have to wear construction grade ear muffs all the time. I was really excited to learn about the possibility of quieting the vent. I researched and followed all the installation instructions and it did absolutely nothing. I do not recommend this product.

We would like to thank you for your review and feedback. I am very sorry that you were not happy with your online purchase of Vibra Block, two pads, measuring 6" x 6" each.
Vents are very difficult to soundproof and are only topped in difficulty by windows.
Sound travels the path of least resistance, a vent would act as an amplifier for sound traveling through it. The 2 Vibra Block pads that you purchased, may help in some situations, however, a noise that you are describing as so loud that you have to wear construction grade ear muffs, it would most definitely not be enough. If you had spoken with one of sales team members they would have told you that was an unrealistic expectation. You would have to make the vent completely non-useable in order to stop the flow of sounds, which would at the same time stop the air flow. This is not an option for most people. We thank you very much for providing feedback on your recent purchase, I am sorry to see that the Quiet Barrier tape did not meet your expectations, and I am also sorry that the shipping container was damaged in transit. We use Fed Ex and UPS for our Ground shipments, to try and offer our customers the best price, however, we have no control of the package once it leaves our facility. We will discuss moving forward not using shipping envelopes, due to the damage risk. Envelope shipping is less expensive (Fed Ex and UPS rates, not ours), however, it may not be worth the risk.

Covered basement water pipes in basement ceiling. .
Very happy with the product. Easy to use and worked well. I would say 50% noise reduction which is a reasonable expectation. I thought the strips would be wider than 3” but I guess I didn’t read enough on the product info. Still worked fine.

They fixed a major problem
We just signed a seven year lease for a new office space for my business. It is our dream space.
But two days after moving in, we were incredibly alarmed to hear in stunning clarity and substantial volume the conversations from the neighboring office. The most dismaying part: the adjoining room where the sound was the worst is our sales room in which we ask clients to spend substantial amounts of money with us.
Some of the overheard conversations from our neighbors contained foul language.
This had to be fixed right away.
Soundproof Cow made the difference. They returned our website inquiry immediately and within ten minutes on the phone with their sales rep we had a precise first step remedy ordered and on the way. It even arrived a day earlier than they told me.
The other thing I appreciate was their focus was on first immediate steps of diagnosing and fixing the problem in the simplest, most cost effective way.
Installation was pretty straightforward and I did it myself. We put in about 250 square feet of the Quiet Batt soundproofing insulation in our drop ceiling in the sales room.
It was so neat to hear the blaring phone conversations next door get quieter and quieter with each 2x8 section of the insulation we put in.
By the time we were done all sound was about 90% reduced, muffled and indistinguishable.
Within a half days work, something that had me deeply alarmed, embarrassed and angry was neutralized and I could sleep at night.
I can highly recommend their help.

Just re-powered my boat with a loud Diesel engine. I wanted something to insulate the engine compartment hatch. I ordered the “Quite Barrier Specialty Composite”.
