I had a disappointing experience with Smile Correct Club. On 13/11/2024, after leaving an honest review about poor service, I received a call offering a Smile White kit as a gesture of goodwill. During this call, I was assured that updating or changing my review was entirely optional if I felt satisfied with their apology, which at the time, I did. I had planned to amend my one-star review once I received the gesture of goodwill, as I appreciated their effort to apologize and make things right. The call felt sincere, and there was no pressure placed on me. In good faith, I added an updated comment to my review and intended to increase the star rating once the Smile White kit had been received.

However, on 29/11/2024, I received a follow-up call at 12:47 from the number 07367016112, during which I was pressured to either delete my review or change it to 5 stars in order to receive the kit, I was told the kit was ready to be sent but that they needed to see the change in my review rating before dispatching it. This left me feeling coerced and manipulated, directly contradicting the original assurance given a few weeks earlier. This review is based on today’s interaction and highlights the escalation in their approach.

According to UK consumer protection laws, this behavior may breach the guidelines set by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), which explicitly state:

"Don’t offer inducements—money or gifts—to customers to write positive reviews about your business."

Furthermore, businesses that mislead consumers may be in breach of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. This legislation ensures fair business practices and protects consumers from being misled.

Such practices are unethical, undermine the review process, and mislead other customers.

This entire experience has left me distrustful of the company’s practices, and I strongly urge them to review their processes to ensure compliance with UK laws and ethical standards.

Future customers should proceed with caution.

Message for potential new customers.

The initial consultation and immediate communications are fab, brilliant customer service and very friendly.
Arrival of impressions kit (after you’ve signed yourself up to paying the full amount), is likely to be delayed. I had to chase mine up before it was sent out.
Communications following this…. POOR.
I reached aligner 10, everything positive until this point. Aligner 10 was deformed, however on the evening that I put this set in… I hadn’t realised. I had pure trust in this company that they’d provide aligners that had been designed and quality checked before being sent to me to put onto my teeth. The set was tight fitting but I assumed this was part of the process… and went to bed. I woke up in so much pain, I found it very difficult to remove the upper aligner and once I had, my top gums were bleeding. At this point I inspected the upper aligner and it became obvious something was wrong with it. Sent pictures through and expected a replacement set to be sent out asap. This didn’t happen. Instead it was INSISTED that the orthodontist wanted me to put this aligned back onto my teeth and take pictures to show where it “wasn’t fitting my teeth properly”. Given that the aligner was completely misshapen over one tooth (and the consequent toothache and bleeding gum I suffered), I refused to put this back on. I offered to send the aligner back so they could assess it first hand, for some reason this wasn’t wanted. I had no further communication. I then emailed again saying as I hadn’t heard anything back about this faulty aligner I was going to move onto the next set. I had an email back the same day approving this and asking “does it feel like a better fit now”. Which it did. I continued with my aligner journey. I then emailed asking for some form of apology or reimbursement given I was sent a faulty aligner which caused potential damage to my teeth. I was told this was going to be looked into. Then I was asked to confirm the number of the faulty aligner… and once I did so, they said they were remaking the faulty aligner and sending it out. Despite me being a week into the following set already. I had no further communication so emailed AGAIN, asking for an update on how this happened in the first place, questioned their quality control procedures, queried a partial refund for the aligner. I then had a response saying it would be passed onto a manager. And now, two weeks on, still nothing. I’d like to add, majority of communications were with Aleisha, the same person majority of people make reference to.

My warning is purely… CHECK YOUR ALIGNERS before putting them onto your teeth. And if it isn’t already too late, go with a different company. One that doesn’t have all its 5* ratings based on the initial consultation!

Excellent customer service by Aliesha very prompt on getting back to you in a timely manner .
Polite and thoughtful at all times will answer all questions in adequate time scale.

I have been slightly disappointed with the care once I finished my last aligner. No one followed up with me to tell me about the retainer to make the results permanent. Now, my teeth have moved and I need to start my aligners again as I don’t have the results I want. The only time someone called me was about advertising and doing social media content. I think this pretty poor given the amount of money you spend and it just seems like you’re left to it as soon as receive your aligners.
When I spoke to Alishia, she did help with the information that I need but again, I felt like I really had to push for it and she didn’t seem overly interested in helping me.
I would advise anyone to make sure you speak to someone around 2 weeks before you’re due to finish your aligners to make sure you know exactly what happens next and how to purchase the retainer.

Currently in the process of using these aligners and every single person I have spoken to has been nothing but supportive, informative and incredibly reassuring. From the second I made the appointment everything has been straightforward and comfortable which is greatly appreciated.
