I've been with Smartwork for two separate stints as a contractor and have only good things to say. My tax is taken care of for a small fee, there's a workplace pension, and I've been paid on time every week without fail. I wouldn't hesitate to return in future.

SmartWork are one of the good guys in the umbrella world. I've had great service from them for the last 2 years. Great online portal, response service and staff

their simulations are not correct - I am working with them for 3 months most I asked for the 9 day simulation for my first month - the difference between simulation and the payslip was around 700GBP... Apprenticeship levy also is passed onto the contractor even though its an Umbrella Company tax if the company passes a specific revenue threshold. I bet if they dont do it this way they will increase the fee then. Lets see how the next 3 months of my contract going to look like - each month so far my daily take home rate is different to the previous month.
Just to give some facts - their simulations for my net daily rate vary by107GBP per day - depending on which simulation you look... also simulation compared to actual pay vary by 118GBP a day! I understand you can make mistakes but if you fire simulations without even doing some basic logical check then it means your service is not trustworthy. One last thing in January there was 2% reduction in NI tax - their simulation for 20 days month with everything else not changed varied by 26%!!!

This is the third contract where I have used SmartWork as an umbrella company. Without exception I have found them to be extremely professional, offering a high quality service. I have no hesitation in recommending SmartWork and will be using them again on future contact assignments.

I was a complete novice to Umbrella working but the team at SmartWork were very helpful at every stage. Their monthly fee looks a lot better than most Umbrella companies.

During the time I have been with this company, I have received excellent service, and would recommend them.

I joined SmartWork after recommendations from other sources (online searches, speaking with previous contractors) just under year ago. Ian Marshall was my assigned business manager at the time and Ian helped me with all my queries during the joining process and also while I was with SmartWork.
The joining process was very smooth. The margins charged were very reasonable and there were no issues with payments which were on time.
I didn't encounter any issues during my time with SmartWork.
I have no hesitation in recommending SmartWork.
