I have been impressed by the quality of the content which is clear, concise and actionable. This meant I was able to get through the modules at a pace that suited me and I found that as a result, building towards my plan was straightforward.

As someone who is still accumulating, I found it useful to sense check my assumptions and challenge my thinking - in particular, when it comes to portfolio construction and risk. The content was great for this and I rewatched those modules a number of times.

This has given me the confidence to act more decisively and with an increased level of assurance when it comes to my financial plan.

One area that I was really curious about was the Sightable AI because I wasn't sure how useful it would be. Wow, it was super useful! I was getting simple to understand responses to what I thought were really complex questions. This element is great and it was almost like chatting to my own personal expert.

The last thing I'd say is that the thing that stands out to me is how the investment products are not the stars of the show. It's not about what they do, how they work, what they cost etc. Instead, it was about me, my plan and my personal psychology when it comes to my investing and spending. This was exactly what I was looking for.

I chose Sightable to gain access to the Voyant software so that I could sense check the most common question those that are looking to retire ask - “Will I have enough?”

There is a fairly steep learning curve to get the very best out of this class leading financial planning software, but the basics were handled very well with the accompanying course materials which mainly compose of easy to understand videos.

Recently Sightable have added additional resources to their platform that drills deeper into all aspects of either accumulation or decumulation phases - a really useful enhancement. There is now a subscribers community forum added to further enhance the experience.

My personal situation I felt was a little too complex for me to forecast on an Excel spreadsheet as both my wife and I have both DB and DC pensions, ISA’s as well as passive income from property and trading companies. Voyant handled all these aspects with a bit of fettling along the way now that there is an Ai assistant to help with “what’s the best way to do this?” or “why doesn’t this look correct?”.

Overall I feel that I have had value, learnt a lot and come away with peace of mind that I could retire before State pension age and not be destitute in my dottage…

You might wonder why if I have a complex financial set up was there a reason that I don’t have a financial advisor to tell me all of this. I do have an advisor, but one that was more about selling products than financial planning, so I decided to do my own research for the greater peace of mind I stated earlier and to gain a better knowledge in preparation for the decumulation phase.

As a foot note; my old advisor left and her replacement uses Voyant so I was able to cross reference outcomes. Both were similar and produced the same conclusions- however, the advisor produced version was better as you would expect from someone that uses the tool everyday.
