Shred Athletics has shaped me into a better runner
Working with Freddi and Jack has been a genuinely enjoyable experience since the first meeting. Both are attentive to my goals and needs as a runner, and their workouts have been absolutely wonderful. I have no regrets at all since starting with them in January of this year.
Where Ambition Meets Achievement
After a six-year hiatus from running, Shred Athletics was exactly what I needed to get back on track. Having someone in my corner from day one made all the difference.
When I came to Freddi in April 2024, to say my goal was ambitious would be an understatement: achieve a Good For Age qualifying time to enter the London Marathon - a big ask for someone who couldn’t run more than 3km without stopping.
Freddi built me a tailored plan that combined running, cross-training, strength work, and fuelling strategies. Not only did I smash my original goal, but I completely changed my habits for the better.
In just one year, I entered 10 races and saw huge improvements:
5k: from 30+ mins to 22:06
10k: from 1hr+ to 44:56
Half Marathon: from 1:49 to 1:39
Marathon: 3:31
Even with a few injury setbacks, the weekly check-ins and in-app resources kept me accountable and motivated. Freddi’s guidance, encouragement and expertise have been invaluable.

Freddie is absolutely amazing and everything you’d want from a coach. I’ve been with him for over a year now and I am the fittest and healthiest I’ve ever been but more importantly I really enjoy all the exercise and goals that he sets me. Freddie is incredibly supportive and goes above and beyond to make sure that whatever you're doing is purposeful and covers all aspects of a healthy lifestyle. He’ll celebrate your wins with you, guide you through any challenging times and support any rest that you need. One of the best things about Freddie is that he’s such a nice person and so incredibly genuine and he wants all his clients to be the best version of themselves and reach their individualised goals. He invests a lot of time being encouraging and sharing his expertise, I don’t know how he does it! He gives me precise speed thresholds for each session and then optimizes my plan based on my performance. • My easy run pace improved from 8:16 min/km a year ago to 5:43 min/km today.

Top class coaching from top class people
I'm coming towards the end of my first 12 week block under Freddi's tutelage woth 2 half marathons on the agenda and I can say without question that this has been the most personalised coaching and planning that I have received from a service.
Before signing up, I met online with one of Freddi's colleagues (the amazing Jack!) and then Freddi himself. During the meetings, they asked questions to find out about me and what my goals with training were, as well as my history with injury to ensure that they had a full picture of my past training cycles and race history. Once I did sign up then, along with an assessment period/training sessions, they were able to know exactly where I was with my running and what level to pitch the training plans at.
As I wrote, this training block has been intense but that is because I have both needed and wanted it to be. I'm a 45 year old who needs accountability and thrives off being pushed l, so the plans have been designed to meet my needs. And as tough as the sessions have felt at times, Freddi and Jack have both been available to provide support, reassurance and generally to boost morale whenever I have felt like a failure after a poor run. In Freddi's world, there are no poor runs, only opportunities for learning!
Equally, whenever something has cropped up in my life and I've needed to skip a session or move it to another day, Freddi and Jack could not have been more accommodating.
In addition to the running plans, Freddi has also invested time in providing a strength and conditioning programme as well as giving out nutritional advice on top of support around fuelling for runs. I'm amazed at the incredible resources provided and the time that has been put into helping me to develop.
Along that line of development, I have a time target for my upcoming half marathons and am confident of hitting it thanks to the putting in the hard work in training. Hard work that Freddi supported me to do. In the 10 weeks that I have been on this programme, I have set multiple new PBs for 1km, 1 mile, 5km and 10km, all by simply adhering to the plans and advice. None of those PBs were set in isolation for a specific race over the relevant distance. Instead, I have simply become faster and stronger as a result of the incredible training plans and coaching advice that Freddi and Jack have provided at Shred Athletics Coaching.

The plans are exceptional, and as tough as they are (when you're ready), they're varied and incredibly enjoyable. I’ve been working with Freddi at Shred Athletics for around 8 months now, and it’s hands down the best fitness decision I’ve ever made.
I first came to Freddi after struggling with recurring running injuries. Right from the start, he took the time to understand my situation and put together a completely bespoke rehab and training plan with clear, structured goals. It wasn’t long before the injuries were under control and I was building strength, confidence and momentum again.

Amazing coaching, Fred creates amazing workout plans as well as gives good meals. The fact that you have to check in every week is a huge help and as long as you're disciplined and you actually follow the plan you're given you can hit your goals.
