Poor Customer Service & Not Worth The Headache

I signed up for BabeBox with the free one-month trial.

I ordered it at the end of July - read the rules that you are charged for the month on the 1st or 2nd. When August 2nd rolled around, I assumed I'd been charged. When my first box arrived, I was disappointed in the products. I subscribe to a Canadian subscription box called TopBox, and it had a lot of the same products (albiet smaller sizes, which is fine with me) and is 1/3 of the price of BabeBox. Anyways, I tried to log onto the BabeBox website to cancel my subscription - and was met with the message that there was no account under my name/email. I tried to then sign up for an account through mobile, but the form does not work on mobile (and I didn't have access to a computer). I emailed customer service and explained the issue and asked them to help me cancel. It was only when I emailed them to cancel that they explained the requirement to pay for a second month/box. When I signed up, all the extra fees for shipping were clearly laid out - I'm in Canada - but no where did it clearly say I needed to pay for a second month in order to actually claim the first. That's not the actual issue though, I understand it and ended up paying for a second month, but the fact it was SO hard to find that detail seems deceptive.

I emailed customer service back and said "okay, that makes sense, I was supposed to be charged for my second (August) box so I'd like to cancel before I am charged for a third (September) box"

They NEVER EMAILED ME BACK. I followed up, but they never responded. I finally got access to a computer and was able to sign up through the website and cancel my subscription that way. t's completely ridiculous and unethical that you can "register" for a box, give the website all your details, and yet still not have a proper log-in for the site!

I checked my banking records and realized I have only been charged for one box, September (On top of a shipping charge for the 1st box) so I guess that because I signed up AFTER July 1st, even though I activated a membership in July, I technically didn't start/receive my first box until the month of August. This was never explained to me.

And holy cr*p, the sheer amount of spam emails from BabeBox/Focallure, telling me I have a special discount code/free gift if I purchase a product through the website, then an email telling me the code is expiring, and then another email telling me it expired! It seemed like I get at least 3 a week.

So in summary - while the products are OKAY, they don't differ that much from a subscription I already receive. The customer service is HORRENDOUS. Registering for the boxes/for the site is convoluted and difficult.

Overall, I would NOT recommend this subscription service.

Bad customer service

I’ve had two months past and I am yet to receive a single box. I haven’t had anyone get in touch with me until I messaged them first to see what had happened.

Who doesn’t love a surprise in the mail!?

I absolutely love receiving my box in the mail. The products are really tailored to the survey you do in the beginning. The customer service department is extremely helpful. I unfortunately had to cancel my subscription due to being furloughed bc of covid. I will most definitely be renewing my subscription as soon as I am able to be less frugal with my spending!

From excitement to disappointment

I was so excited to get my box! I even bought two extra products.. well it’s mid August and I have yet to get my July box. Soo disappointing. I have asked numerous times and have received no answers really- just there’s shipping delays but DHL and USPS are showing they have yet to receive the product and my August box is moving along. Feel like I wasted my money. Will update if anything changes.

Skip this beauty box! It's a rip off!

I received the August box mid August after signing up in early July (after I contacted Cust. service a few times). I am owed another box. Who knows if I'll ever get it.
I am a beauty box connoisseur. When I excitedly opened the box I had waited so long for, I actually had to double check to see who the sender was! There was a small body moisturizer, a teeny tiny facial facial moisturizer, some pink sparkly powder, black eyeliner, a (disposable) mask, and lip gloss that had leaked all over the place.
If I we're 8 this may have excited me but as an adult I know a rip off when I see one.
Skip this beauty box! It's laughable.

This has been the worst experience I…

This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a subscription box. It started with me ordering the "so called" free box ( i even ordered the 2 extra items offered) back in early/mid July and around August 3rd I was charged for a 2nd box. Which I never even knew was going to happen because I did not read the fine print on the "free" offer, which states you must pay for a 2nd box to get the 1st free. I only found that out by emailing back and forth with customer service. I tell them I want to cancel the subscription and I'm told I have to pay for the 2nd box because of the free one.....well here's the issue THE FREE BOX NEVER EVEN CAME!!! I have emailed customer service 3x and let them know and all they tell me is to check the tracking. Well when you check tracking it says a label was printed but USPS is awaiting package from sender. The company stopped answering my emails and there is no phone number. This was a complete RIP off. The products were not even that great that came in the second box.

I love love make up and skin care

I love love make up and skin care. I had a lot of issues when i signed up for the service. Those issues were corrected, Thanks!! But as i receive my monthly box I am receiving sample sizes of product so some months i dont feel im getting my monies worth. I want to order the travel case but its out of stock. understandable. but i get atleast 3 to 4 emails a day asking if i want to purchase the case...
