Always a bad experience

So I’ve been in the Hobby lobby Novi, Michigan store five or six times. There is always an issue. They have one register that’s for refunds and exchanges. I did make the mistake one time getting in that line got all the way to the cashier and they said refund annd exchanges only you have to get back in line. OK my mistake. Today I’m in Hobby lobby. There’s four cashiers standing at registers one of the four registers was refunds and exchanges and I didn’t want to make that mistake again. Two of the three remaining registers had closed signs right on their little counter, even though the employees were standing at the register, so I went and got in line at another register and I was told this register is for employee purchases only! and how would I know that because there’s no sign I stated to the gentleman and the other registers are all closed. you have two ladies standing at the registers with a close signs and you have one register refunds and exchange only. He said to the other two ladies why are you closed and they said because we’re going to lunch so here I stand with my shopping cart, ready to make a purchase and there’s no registers to pay so then he says well. This one time you can go to refunds and exchange exchanges. Lucky me I can actually give this store money for a purchase. So the items that I bought were on a four-way display that had signs all over 40% off. They were all Yard games, badminton. Tic-tac-toe. Connect four. I thought this is great always good to have Yard games for the summer. After the whole cash register debacle, I am at refunds and exchanges and the woman rings everything up and it’s like $80. I’m like oh these were all on the four-way that had 40% off. Oh everything is 40% off but everything with the yellow stickers is regular price I said well I got one of everything they all have yellow stickers. Right and with the yellow sticker, it’s a regular price. I said, but the sign says 40% off. It doesn’t say except yellow stickers and everything on that four-way end cap Has a yellow sticker. And she shook her head and said right and they’re not 40% off their regular because they have a yellow sticker.
Honest to goodness you can’t fix stupid

Questionable business tactics

Prices are significantly different town to town. We have about 4 Hobby Lobbies in my area and they all range significantly in prices. The one two towns over is 50% more than the one 30 min from my house. I have compared many locations and they can range from 30-60% in price differences for the same items. This is fraudulent to do this. Yet they are getting away with it. I was looking for some art supplies at the one closer to my home and noticed most of the items (not all but most) were about 50% significantly cheaper than the one I traditionally support. This isn’t right. It’s fraudulent.

I’ve tired online ordering before from their web site and it can be so slow. Amazon won my business over this. I would be cautious of ordering breakable items through Hobby Lobby’s website I had a few arrive broken.

Returns at store. I don’t have high returns but their returns are slow. They’re not really to ask questions or be nippy about it but if you are returning it to standards in how they want it and you’re not a high problem returned customer then they should take it back. I’ve had a few times where they’ve challenged me on returns. Despite being ethical about it. They also get really nippy when you try to return stuff from other locations despite their policy allowing you to do so. Thanks, thank a bunch for being jerks and making me have to drive all the way to the other location 40 min away from home to do so. Yea thanks a bunch. On my days off I don’t want to drive out to my town of work.

Hobby Lobby use to have a 40% off coupon for decades. About 5 years ago they discontinued it and shoppers were mad. I don’t think they were loosing all that much on the coupon. I did buy expensive items when it was on sale and that helped a lot. I’m not downloading the app to clip the current style coupons because half the time I can’t remember my pass code and when I do it’s usually expired. So yea thanks.

I don’t mind religion but this place is too pro Christian because of the owners being super Christians. So much so that they won’t even acknowledge Halloween. They just jump right into Christmas in July. Sorry, that’s too early. Then they do other things too that make me question them as a company. They company or owners are super pro Trump supporters. To the point where they built display stands glorifying him and nauseatingly sold those awful comic books dictating him as God. I’m not joking on that one. They didn’t even take covid seriously and the government fined them multiple times to let the employees wear masks and by then the restriction was lifted. God will protect us. Not so. Then when they enforced the masks no one wore them correctly thus defeating the purpose of it. The government has finned them on other things too like denying women certain rights over the years to health things that they only get. That’s what makes me not support this company to the degree I use to.

Utterly pathetic and unprofessional…

Utterly pathetic and unprofessional company. They deny customers living in UK and EU access to their website, why? Well, their loss, and a huge loss at that, as we combined have more affluent customers than the US does!

Hobby Lobby online delivery scam

Hobby Lobby has changed from delivering with FedEx to delivering Amazon Logistics in my city. Unfortunately, you can't give delivery instructions and you can't access the delivery photo. My order was marked as delivered but wasn't and they won't refund me because a delivery photo exists. They won't show it to me though so who knows where the package was left.

Ordered a board game online over…

Ordered a board game online over choosing Amazon. Turns out they use Amazon to ship their products. No big deal… package arrives and it was a completely different Amazon order that I had placed via Amazon. No board game in sight.

I reached out to Hobby Lobby directly and they gave me the run around to email them directly. They made it sound like they’d figure it out for me. Turns out because the Amazon guy took a picture of a random package and posted it to them that they claim they can’t do anything. They won’t refund me, and they won’t send me a new product.

No wonder big box retail is going out like a bad habit. I will never shop here again.

Maisto needs to go

I purchased the Maisto snap-together Lamborghini at Hobby Lobby as a gift for my 8 year old grandson. It has 34 parts. My grandson couldn't complete anything but the tires, and I had to complete 3 of the 4 hubcap connections, breaking one of the tabs off in the process. After 2 solid hours, I'm at the table and my grandson is long gone. The final piece will not completely snap at each of the, I don't know, eight various and unidentifiable snap points. Not sure who is capable of easily putting these together, but this product should really not be anywhere near a casual model car enthusiast and definitely should not be used to introduce young children to the joys of model cars.

Cashier Terry B. @ Store #23660 was nasty!

My wife and I went shopping at the 23660 US Hwy 19 FL store on Black Friday. Our cashier Terrie B. was very rude and hostile when my wife simply ask her to make sure our item was marked down 50%... We did not make a big deal out of it. We knew it was busy. When we left the store, we both said to each other- "she was nasty!"

UPDATE to Horrible co...3rd time I received defective items…

UPDATED to 3 star: after I filed complaint thru BBB stating if i don't get refunded for ship portion of damaged goods, then all my business will be thru Michaels, so they can either refund me the under $5 cost for the ship portion or lose all the $$ they have been making off me every year on every holiday....so I now got refunded today. From now on, if I am ever able to actually go to one of their stores, (difficult since i have no transportation and can only go if i hitch a ride with someone), that I will only shop there if I can actually SEE what i am buying...pretty much done with shopping online thru them because it just isn't worth the hassle!).

3rd time I received defective items when ordering online, and every time there has been an issue jumping thru hoops until finally got refunded, but every time they would short you a penny!? what's that about? This time bought 3 old fashioned print xmas wood decor blocks only to have them arrive smelling toxic/like was doused in turpentine. I contacted them telling them I needed a refund and gave them price, but also that they needed to refund a portion of the ship charge because the remaining 2 items i ordered were just cheap add ons that came to only $4.36 (that's with the tax), so them charging me $7.95 for an order where the bulk of it was damaged, is totally unfair....since i never would have ordered the the other 2 items (small rubber stamp and a sheet of stickers) and pay almost twice their cost to ship!...that's insane! Yet not only didn't they refund me any of the ship charge, totally ignored that part of my email....just sent email saying to toss defective items and their refund (again) was a penny short and no ship charge refunded. I have shopped online every holiday, NO MORE! Even my husband says enough is enough (prior order was for a large folding shelf unit that arrived in a box taped up with cardboard pcs added on...like someone else had opened it already, and inside every shelf was either cracked or falling off, and all the screws that were supposed to hold the shelves on fell out of the box...why you would even ship out such JUNK is beyond me!). After that fiasco i THOUGHT i would be safe just ordering small decor items....well after getting this toxic smelling 'made in china' garbage, which I paid shipping on that I'm not getting back, I am SO DONE with this co....who BTW isn't really Christian anymore, since the owner/founder SOLD it...he's only on the board now, but retired, so not even running the co. anymore...which explains the HORRIBLE RATINGS Hobby Lobby now gets online on every Review you can find on them! AVOID at all costs, and like others said, shop at Michaels, because even online, if you get damaged goods, PHONE them and they IMMEDIATELY refund you (back to your cr cd....not a 'gift card' like hobby lobby does, where you're forced to have to spend your money back to their store!), and they send you a prepaid return label, and if item is too heavy to drop off at USPS or UPS etc., they will schedule a pickup for you, or if damaged, they usually tell you to just dispose of item. But as far as Hobby Lobby goes, they are DEAD TO ME!!!

Did not care about me at all

I loved arts and crafts and they have anything u could want which is a plus but I went the other day and was getting a bigger container for my stuff and I thought it latched closed and also had handles bc it was big and I was wrong. It crashed down on my foot leaving me bleeding and bruised when I asked the manager up front for a band aid so I didn’t get blood anywhere or on my sandals she said no. But she said they had some in the fabric section. Like ugh my foot hurts I don’t wanna walk all the way back there and that was it. No concern no care at all I was hurt. If I go back it’ll be to a different store out of town.

verbally assaulted, belittled, and mocked by HB cashier

I just got verbally assaulted, belittled, and mocked in front of a large group of customers at hobby lobby downers grove IL BY AN EMPLOYEE!!
The employee almost assaulted me.
I just called their corporate office crying my eyes out .. She called me too poor to shop there adn made comments about my appearance!!
we will never EVER Shop at that store again.
This is unbelievable.
I'm still in shock at how this happened and quickly it escalated ..
I know I should not be shopping there, trust me, but i needed curb chain bc i ran out and have to ship something today.
Yes i returned everything .

after being a customer for 4 years…not happy with this cusotmer service refusing a online order

after being a customer for 4 years shopping online, i had a purchase that wasn't delivered, and i got my card refunded, after a month or so went to make a order, they refused me all together, and said i had to shop instore, one time i did a chargeback, after spending $100.00s of dollars, for over 4 years, and the refund was for under 20 , can you believe it, talk about hypocritical pieces of you know what. rude and nasty, i think its underhanded and mean, and they call themselves a Christian store, please. weren't they busted some years for selling artifacts,??????

Dollars over Safety

Hobby Lobby is adding to the problem and endangering the lives of employees and customers by being open during these winter weather conditions in Southeast Georgia. Crafting supplies are not a necessity.

I am disappointed in your choosing dollars over safety.

Dreadful company

This company pretends to be “Christian”, yet they cheat customers at every turn. Their return policy is dreadful and unfair, and they do not stand behind their products, even if there is a problem with them. Despite many suggestions and requests, they will not provide even one electric cart for handicapped customers to use in their large stores. Most of their products are overpriced and imported from China. Their treatment of their employees and management of benefits is deplorable. This privately owned company should be put out of business.I no longer buy ANYTHING from them.

Garbage merchandise & terrible return policy

I bought two bird feeder domes. What I got was two pieces of cheap plastic. The hardware that came with it is so small that it would not hold up to the weight of the bird feeders and break damaging the feeders beyond repair. The eye part of the hook will not fit over the Shepard hook the bird feeders are hanging on. The refund policy is a joke. If you return your online purchases to the local store, you only get store credit and not for the money you paid for. What should’ve set my alarm off was that the shipping charge cost as much as the two domes did. If I return the domes to the online store, I bought them from I have to pay for the shipping which is a lot more than what I paid to have them shipped to me, for the return and that is for unopened merchandise.
I have spent a lot of money down through the years at Hobby Lobby but will not buy from them again.

Good afternoon I very rarely shop with…

Good afternoon I very rarely shop with your store due to all the negative reviews that I hear about, but I was given a gift card for the holidays and figured why not. First off what I don't understand is why you don't ship from a regional Warehouse like the rest of the world does, therefore there would be no reason to wait several days up to 2 weeks for something to come out of Texas that is clearly older (possibly outdated) merchandise ridiculously overpriced. Secondly, very agitated to see the item purchased and other items, that I chose to purchase somewhere else due to the price, instantly 40% off when I went online verify my package was going to make it here today. Third, and my biggest problem is every time I go on FedEx to confirm it's location.. it says that it left Texas yesterday has no update of being in my area, has no update of when it could be delivered, it doesn't even show that it's in the same state. This is not good for my business nor is it good for my customers who depend on me to deliver their wants and needs in an efficient time so therefore I will not recommend your company to any of my followers, friends, or clients until such time y'all have reorganized your shipping and delivery system. Thank you for your time hope you work out these problems and that one day I may not only be able to use your services and the materials that you sell for my items but I can promote to my people and suggest that they go to you for all their needs instead of Amazon and other places.
