Employees caused stress with misinformation
Shield Healthcare was the first pharmacy recommended to me by Medi-CalRx and the pharmacy employee I spoke to on the phone confirmed that they took my insurance. She set up an account for me and told me to have my prescriptions sent over via PrimeRx.
Right after I called the clinic and asked them to send the prescriptions, I received a call from Shield Healthcare saying they were mistaken when they said they took my insurance and could not fill prescriptions for me.
Because this happened at end of business day on Friday, I could not call the clinic until Monday and it caused me a lot of stress and wasted time trying to resolve the situation. More than a week later, I found another pharmacy who reliably delivers prescriptions to my home.
Then I started getting multiple text messages from Shield Healthcare urging me to refill my prescriptions through them.
I believe the employees I dealt with on October 24 were misinformed about how the insurance coverage worked. Their lack of organization caused me a lot of stress and delayed access to medication. I cannot recommend this business to anyone.
