If You Run a Service-Based Business, Read This Before You Invest
Before enrolling, I specifically raised concerns about whether the program would be suitable for my business, as I run a digital education platform rather than a physical product-based e-commerce business. I was reassured that the content would still be relevant and applicable, which ultimately influenced my decision to proceed.
It wasn’t until later, when I had the opportunity to properly work through the program (having already completed a significant amount of content on the previous platform), that the misalignment became clear.
While there are some general topics such as brand foundations, sales funnels, website structure, platform setup, ads and SEO, a large portion of the program — close to 50% — is clearly built around product-based businesses. This includes Shopify, wholesale, Amazon, upsells, promotional campaigns like Black Friday, returning customer strategies, and UGC content creators. As a result, a significant portion of the content was difficult to apply to my business, which is why I was willing to reach a fair outcome and pay for the portion of the program that was relevant.
In addition, the live call times were not suitable due to time zone differences, and the replays were largely focused on product-based scenarios, which again were not relevant to my type of business.
I attempted to resolve this directly and was willing to reach a fair outcome, however this was not accepted, and as a result I feel it is important to share my experience.
I was also disappointed with the level of communication throughout the process. I was led to expect more support, including community events and check-ins, however this did not reflect my experience. Responses often took up to a week, and there was no attempt to have a direct conversation to better understand my situation or work towards a resolution, which left me feeling that there was little genuine care shown.

Why She-Com Academy Didn’t Work for Me
I'm currently halfway in to the She-Com Academy course and to be honest I'm feeling a little bit disappointed and frustrated.
I was super excited and hopeful when I first joined, but after 6 months I do feel that I could've invested the (very expensive) course amount into other avenues that could've perhaps benefitted my business better.
My main issues are that -
1) the course is extremely social media and 'content creation' heavy. If you don't feel comfortable creating videos, reels and posting relentlessly on Instagram, Facebook and Tik Tok then this course IS NOT for you. Rather spend the monthly course fee to hire someone who can do this for you.
2) They need to offer more resources in terms of the How. For e.g- they have a video session explaining social influencers and what they can do for your business, but no further information or contacts on how to go about finding or engaging one. Same for website developers, Pinterest etc. I really feel there is more guesswork than there should be given the cost of the program.
Committing to a full year of huge monthly payments (which was initially quoted to me without GST at the time of signing up FYI - so watch out for that) has unfortunately been a very expensive lesson for me and my tiny business. In hindsight I definitely feel I would've had more success and better value putting the money towards a social media / website team.
Also please note with the reviews on here, some of them are for the 2 day live She-Com event that people can attend (usually 5 star reviews) and others are for the She-Com Academy. They are two different things.

Fantastic course, jump on it as soon as possible
I started my product journey four years ago when I co-founded a haircare brand, Suntied. I lost a lot of time and money figuring out the “unknown unknowns” of building a product business. This program is incredibly comprehensive, with strong support from both peers and trainers for those who are ready to take it seriously. I love their focus on starting with organic channels rather than pouring money into advertising before making your first sale. I highly recommend this course for product founders. It will save you a significant amount of money by helping you avoid costly mistakes. I only wish I had discovered SHE-Com four years ago when I was starting out.
Disappointing client service
I want to share my experience with the SheCom program because I feel it might help others who are at the beginning of their business journey.
I joined over a year ago, and for me it was a very big financial commitment, even though I opted for monthly payments. I had just started my business, had no savings or backup support, and even took out a loan to afford it. Looking back, it was too much of an investment for someone in my position, and I don’t feel my situation was properly considered by She Com when I signed up.
The program is non-cancellable, and I did sign the terms and conditions, but I still believe my personal circumstances should have been taken into account when I reached out. A few months in, I realised it wasn’t the right fit for me: the material wasn’t tailored to New Zealand, and much of the information could be found online. Because I also work full-time, I couldn’t attend the calls regularly, so it just wasn’t working in my situation. I contacted SheCom to ask if I could leave the program early so I wouldn’t have to pay the full amount. Instead of finding a solution, they didn’t do anything with my request for months - no resolution and no clear response - and then offered me a website review. I also received a few calls, which basically came down to being told “nothing can be done.” It wasn’t helpful, and it wasn’t a solution to what I was facing.
Now, over a year later, I am closing my business. SheCom has used up most of the loan I took for this venture.
What makes me saddest is that instead of feeling cared for as a client or as a human being, I felt like it was “just business.” I’ve read a couple of other reviews like mine, and I do feel for those people, it makes me think there may be others who simply haven’t spoken up.
I didn’t want to write this at first because I was upset and disappointed, but I feel I need to be honest about how things turned out. I hope this helps anyone considering SheCom, especially if you’re just starting out and don’t have strong financial backing. Please go into it with full awareness of what the commitment really means.
SHE-com has been a turning point for me and my business
SHE-com has been an absolute turning point for me and my business. What sets it apart is the mix of powerhouse coaches (all scaling their own 7–8 figure brands right now) and a community that genuinely lifts each other up. There’s no gatekeeping, just practical strategies and honest advice you can apply straight away. If you put your head down and sink your teeth into the work, you really can get what you need from the program, the coaches, and more.
I'm so glad to have rolled over my subscription into a second year so I can still have access to all the coaches whenever I need. The growth in my business continues to be incredible, but the real shift has been in my confidence and clarity as a founder. For me personally, the change has been huge. Before joining, I felt like I was constantly second-guessing my next step and trying to do it all on my own. Now, I’ve got a clear roadmap, expert guidance in every area of eCommerce, and a network of women who just get it.
I finally feel supported, inspired, and certain about the direction i'm heading in. I can't thank SHE-com and the team enough for getting me and my business to where we are today. And I'm so excited about where we're yet to go!
Very Disappointing, I Feel Scammed
I joined Shecom with high hopes, as it was advertised as a trusted program to help business owners learn, grow, and succeed. Unfortunately, my experience over the past 12 months has been far from that promise.
I felt pressured to join after my initial enquiry, being told the price would rise if I didn’t commit within days. The upfront cost was significant, yet on multiple occasions when I reached out for help via email or the Facebook community, I was met with either no response or advice that was irrelevant and unhelpful.
The training modules are basic and outdated, leaving members to largely work things out on their own with more practical guidance available for free elsewhere (Chatgpt). Any tailored training relevant to my industry required paying extra, which was disappointing given the initial investment.
The one positive has been meeting other founders, but those connections have come at a cost of thousands of dollars. Ironically, after 11 months in the program, the only time Shecom personally reached out to see how I was going was when my subscription was due for renewal.
Based on my experience, Shecom did not deliver the level of support, training, or engagement that it advertises.

I’m currently in the Academy+ and loving it!!! I'll admit I was a little worried but it teaches you everything you need to know I’m already seeing some great results. I feel like I finally have a roadmap to follow instead of constantly guessing what my next step should be... and it keeps me on track to make sure I don't get lazy!
If i'm not sure about an area, i just go to the learning hub and there is always a module that shows you what to do and feels like its written by people who actually get it!... And on the off chance there isn’t a module, I just ask one of the coaches and they are so helpful, honestly really feels like there are no silly questions!!! Wish I had joined sooner. Thanks She-com!
No Flexibility – Be 100% Sure Before You Join…
I signed up for Shecom’s 12-month program, fully aware that there were Terms & Conditions in place. However, my circumstances changed significantly, and I found myself in a position where I could no longer afford the monthly payments. Unfortunately, Shecom offers no way out—even in genuine hardship situations.
1. Strict 12-Month Lock-In with No Consideration for Circumstances
I reached out to discuss my situation, explaining that I could no longer sustain the payments.
Shecom refused any flexibility, instead offering a “game plan” call, which was positioned as a way to “move the needle” or help with short-term action steps.
2. “Game Plan” Call Wasn’t a Solution.
Despite repeatedly explaining that I could not afford to continue, I was pushed toward a call rather than given any real support or options to exit.
This wasn’t feasible for me, as my financial situation made continuing impossible.
3. Devastating Impact on My New Business
I am now facing the reality that I may have to consider shutting down my startup, a business I have poured thousands of dollars and hours into. It’s devastating.
In the hope of receiving some compassion, I shared deeply personal information about my struggles, but received none—just a hardline stance and demands for payment.
It became clear to me that they just want your money, regardless of personal circumstances.
Warning for Others:
Only sign up if you are 100% sure you can commit to 12 months with no exit options, no matter what happens.
If your circumstances change, don’t expect Shecom to offer any solutions beyond a game plan call.
This experience has personally and financially impacted me in a major way.
I’m sharing this to help others think carefully before committing to something that doesn’t allow for real-life changes.

She-Com - the best e-com coaching for women
I’m just back from the She-Com retreat in Bali. It was one of the best weeks of my life. I learned an enormous amount - from the coaches and all the other amazing women.
