Andrew and the team at Sharpes Estates are amazing! We have working with Andrew and using Sharpe's Estates for nearly 20 years and now have two properties that are rented through him. Over that time he has supported us with renovating properties from painting to kitchen replacement to whole house refurb as well as the day to day management and odd jobs. He has always found excellent tenants with minimal cross over periods and achieves competitive rental income. If you are looking for a rental property or have a property that needs tenant, I would most definitely recommend Andrew and the team.

I was looking to rent a 1 bed apartment, I found a suitable flat on Rightmove and clicked to arrange a viewing. Sharpes Estates sent me their standard reply asking for details of income, job, personal details etc. I am freelance self employed and so renting is never straight forward, I had been renting a flat in Colliers Wood for over 6 years paying around £1400 pcm, they wouldn't accept that as proof & said that I'd need to prove earnings that are over £44,500 pa or pay 6 months rent in advance AND get a guarantor. (they actually showed me the original flat on behalf of another estate agent) Well, I'm sorry but why do you need a guarantor if you've paid 6 months rent upfront or vice versa? I believe that as soon as you mention that you're not on a monthly salary they aren't interested and all these hurdles are really a deterrent. I was gazump'd at least 4 or 5 times until I found somewhere that I ended up renting. Estate Agents have no morals or ethics when dealing with prospective tenants, many won't even reply to your inital enquiry. I hope the government bring in new laws to stop all this sharp practice and protect tenants rights.
