I have had my shark liftaway just over 2 years with no problems. Very Happy. I recently noticed that the handle attached to the wand had broken and was coming off whilst hoovering. Rang the warranty number got straight through and the gentleman was so helpful. Sent me a link for a video call. Showed him the issue and it was sorted. A new wand will be sent to me free of charge absolutely brilliant. service

Horrible thing! My Shark Lift-away has fallen over and smashed me in the shins for the last time! Who thought it was ok to make a vacuum cleaner that won’t stay upright when the hose is used? It’s positively dangerous - I’ve been bruised and battered by it, tripped over it as it toppled yet again too many times. I kept thinking I’ll make do, it’s just a vacuum, but no way - I can’t stand it any longer.
Come back Dyson all is forgiven!!

This was purchased for us as a gift and I was very excited to use it (I lead a rock and roll life). Very quickly we encountered problems, the vacuum was constantly falling over when using the lift away function. My husband had just recovered from a broken foot and I had recently had an operation on my knee. The vacuum has repeatedly fallen over hitting my knee and my husbands foot. We have tried to use it without this function, but it struggles with our carpet - to the point that i simply cannot use it as it leaves me in too much pain.

I contacted shark about this, as I felt the vacuum cleaner was actually quite dangerous at times and not fit for purpose. As other reviews have said, they placed the blame squarely on myself and refused to engage with me, no replacement was ever offered. They said they would ‘look into’ the vacuum falling over but we’re not prepared to do anything to resolve my issue.

I have made it clear to them that I will never purchase a shark and I would advise others against it.

Myself and my husband are from families that raised us to replace things only when we have to (our previous dyson had lasted well over 10 years), so we are stuck with this until it physically breaks.

Great power, time saving, easy to use

I purchased a shark hoover NV601UKT back in February 2020, unfortunately the cable clip has stretched so I called them & they replaced it with a NV602UKT which the suction is so powerful it won’t go over my living room carpet and the red light comes on, so I called them and they replaced it with the same model, NV602UKT in case the original one was faulty! So I had yet another one to which the suction was just as bad, so again I called them each time a video link was done so they could see how I was struggling with this! They then sent out a new hose & handle stating this had been changed to allow more airflow, no was just as bad so it went to the escalations team, which she changed it for a NV612UKT saying the reviews were very good and the suction wasn’t as powerful, oh my god it’s just as bad, so I have now requested a collection for both hoovers and a full refund, sick of swapping & changing now and waiting for delivery etc. i will NEVER purchase another shark hoover, go back to the setting what you originally had on the NV601UKT.

My shark lift away stopped lifting away, the button simply does not work any more. Shark customer service needed a video, which I sent, then they sent me a link for a new motor which is never in stock. So I now have a lift away which doesn't. Extremely disappointed

Bought first one in October stopped working December, took a lot of emails and phonecalls to get it replaced bout 6 weeks later
Had this new one 4 months and it's broke again, horrible noise coming from it no matter what I do it gives me a headache! Will never buy shark again

Got my shark anti hair stick. Absolute rubbish, no suction at all. Only got it 4 days ago, used it 3 times and had to remove hair from it. Tried it as not keen on Dyson or vax, but this vacuum takes the biscuit

The customer service is very poor. There is a lot of consumer blaming & Shark refusing to take responsibility for the faulty part. You have been warned!

Just dreadful customer service.
The Hoover is great until it isn’t. Then you’re on your own. ‘Self help’ is absolutely dire.
I won’t be replacing this shark with another one, that’s for sure

November 2021 the rollerblade on my hoover started playing up it intermittently stopped spinning, spoke to shark on the phone, told to go through diagnostics and was told a replacement head would be posted out to me.
Ring back in December to be told no trace of the call in November, had to go through diagnostics online and ring back again to be told a replacement head would be posted out to me.
January rang again to see where my replacement was to be told no stock until 9th February.
During this time the roller stopped working totally.
9th of February I was asked to call back on the 14th.
14th of February I was asked to call the next day.
At this point Patience has worn out so I raised a compliant, suddenly they find the head is no longer available so will replace the entire unit, then they discover the model is no longer made so will send the next model up. I am sent an email with return postage instructions and told my replacement will be dispatched "As soon as you take yours to the DPD drop off, your replacement will be dispatched".
18th February my old hoover is received by Shark at 12pm, at 12:40 I rang again and again raised a complaint as now I'm told it has to be checked before my replacement will be posted out. Told someone from complaints will contact me within 24 hours.
19th February and yet another call and still no hoover and no manager available to get back to me.

At the time of typing this review I am still without a hoover, still waiting to be contacted over the 2 raised complaints and still no further forward despite at least 9 Telephone Calls to Shark "Customer Service", 2 raised complaints and 4 months of waiting

I do NOT recommend shark or their "5 Year Guarantee"

We've had a number of previous Sharks and loved them but this one had to go back. It was just too powerful to the extent that it felt like it was damaging the carpet and damaging the roller which would constantly seize. Spoke to shark customer service who suggested that the head/hose unit might be defective. We returned the unit and were given a direct replacement which was exactly the same, so also returned. Very disappointed and confused.

Awful Customer Service so far, over 33 emails sent back and forth and still haven’t got anywhere. My hoover has lost suction, I was guided to there online form for problems, after several emails where I was having to repeat myself over and over, finally got around to reporting the problem to be told after around 25 emails and a week of going back and forth that would needed to call the help centre and start all over again with my complaint. I asked someone to call me, I said I shouldn’t have to now go and call them and start over again. Next thing I have a nice apology from a lady who said she will sort things out, bingo I thought until I sent the next email and I’m back to square one again, being told they couldn’t deal with it.
I also told them from the start there were two problems with the hoover, one was lack of suction and the other was the wand was loose. Next thing they have dispatched the wand and tried to close the complaint. I then went through it again and told them the problem. With suction, they came back with that the wand has now been dispatched and I should see if this makes the suction better. I replied how could it as it’s bad just with the handheld!!!!!!!
Omg I cannot believe what is going on, it should be so simple, I log a complaint, they come up with a solution end of!!!!
I definitely won’t be buying another Shark product and will never recommend them to anyone

My second Shark vacuum. Not as good as my first, heavier too ( 7.4kg compared to 6.2kg) and narrower by 3.5cm.
Delivery etc. was good.

Absolutely apauled by shark saying my shark lift away has been plugged in too many times with Force or trapped under a door because the wire has split near the plug.
Saying it's not covered by warranty too! Not offered anything as a good will gesture to say the plug has blown ( wires inside are black) and the item has burnt my hand!

Wanting to charge me £60 for an engineer assessment too! I wouldn't recommend them at all with how their customer service is!

Do not believe the 2 year warranty as everything gets put down to 'wear and tear'

This is the second shark liftaway I've owned the first one I had to replace as the pipes split now my second one has the same problem it's a year old ! Have tried emailing was asked to send pictures which I did asked when it was purchased so sent prove that's as far as it went no more contact from them for months will go back to a dyson

We bought one of these lift aways 2 years ago and it has been brilliant. We had an issue recently where the motor was making a horrible noise and burning smell. Contacted customer services and they were brilliant, no long waiting times and by the end of the call, the lady ordered a new motor housing (free under the warranty) and i received it 24 hrs later. Such an easy system to change parts on too.

I bought this, being swayed by the reviews, and acting on impulse, unfortunately. To be clear, this is a tremendous vacuum. It cleans away pet hair with
ease, it gets deep into the fibre of your carpets and brings them back to life. The suction is powerful, and it beats, hands down, any vacuum I've ever owned, and I've had the biggest names in vacuums, including Miele, and Dyson. My problem is that I live in a small bungalow, with area rugs as opposed to fitted carpets. I'm mid-sixties and find it extremely heavy. If you have a home with carpets in almost every room, then this will be your best friend. As it is though, it's in the corner, hardly ever used. I should have purchased a cordless model minus the lift away tank. Expensive mistake.

Bought this to replace my Dyson roller ball which is getting on a bit although still working perfectly. I was told the Shark is more powerful and would pick up more than my trusty Dyson. It is supposed to adjust automatically between different types of floors and I wouldn't say it doesn't BUT, the downside is that you can't adjust manually so I can't hoover my lightweight dirt trapping door mats because it just sucks them up. I do find it very heavy to use and if I do more than one room my wrist/hand is aching at the end from constantly trying to manoeuvre it around. But by far the most annoying feature is that if I use it lift away mode for stairs, high up cleaning, etc it CONSTANTLY falls over so you have to either keep putting it upright or drag it around behind you. As most of it is made from hard plastic I'm not sure how long it is going to last. Good points are that yes it is powerful and cleans well but that is about it. I certainly wouldn't buy another one and my Dyson may be brought out of his retirement in the shed - thank goodness I kept it.

What a shame after leaving a positive review after needing to contact due to faulty part which was supposed to be sent to me. Now been waiting 2 weeks so contacted again to be told part still out of stock and they don’t know when it will be in. Demanded a replacement hoover but I have send mine back first but in a box and packaging and go out of my way to drop to courier or pay for them to collect!! Tried to escalate to manager but no have to wait another 48hrs for them to contact me certainly won’t be buying from them again. Obviously don’t care about customers when their product fails
