Liars
I bought a concert dress online from Southeastern Performance Apparel at about 10:15pm EST on 11/02/21. We had learned at the last minute that my daughter would be needing a dress for a chorale concert this coming weekend; she has black pants and shirt but not floor length dresses. I paid $30 for 2-day shipping. I received an email almost 24 hours (9:07pm EST on 11/03/21) later confirming my order and it said: "We will notify you when your items begin shipping." I called this morning 11/04/21 and talked with a customer service representative that was not helpful at all and kept telling me that it was a "5-day dress", and I said that the website does not state clearly that any type of shipping could end up being a 5 day deal, and that I had paid for a 2 day. All their website says is: “Need to outfit your Choir or Orchestra quickly? We have you covered with our In Stock, Quick Ship apparel. All Quick Ship Items ship in 5 business days or less, taking the stress out of getting your group's concert apparel so you can focus on your performance.” 5 business days OR LESS. I paid for 2 days shipping and she said I should not expect the dress before Monday at best.
She did not want to give a manager and when I insisted, she said there was none on site and she could give me his voicemail but it would be too late by the time he gets it because the dress would have left. I asked when he was expected, she did not know. So, I am not sure why she was saying by the time he gets the message if she does not know when he is coming. She was lying. She said the dress would leave out today, probably in the afternoon, and all I was asking was for someone to place a call to the warehouse or message them, so they could expedite the shipping as much as possible. I told her I was just pleading for help, begging them to maybe make a one-day shipping and I will pay the difference (their 1 day shipping is $50). She said it would take longer if they changed the shipping at that point. I was in tears saying that I was just pleading for them to help a person, to see me as a person in need of an exception or something else. She was the most uncooperative, unempathetic individual one can imagine.
I did not understand how after I paid for a 2 day shipping on a Tuesday night, I could not expect the dress to show up till Monday at best. They are LIARS and they have a horrible customer service. Their website does NOT include any information about what the expected arrival for your order is, NONE. You are paying for a service that is not guaranteed. I still have not received the email letting me know the dress has shipped. It is 11 am EST. My daughter won't have this dress for her concert after I paid these thieves a total of $97.25. My daughter attends a the NCSSM school in Durham NC, a boarding school 2 hours from home, and we won’t have an opportunity to shop in person. Besides there are not specialized stores beyond the Macy’s and JCPenny types. I don’t know what we can do, and I am really upset with this company.
If you ever plan to buy from them. Get on the phone first and make someone certify that your order will be arriving by “X” day. Even then….I don’t know if I would trust them after the customer service experience I had this morning, when she lied as I pleaded.
