We have had a wonderful experience working with L from SENSational tutors after years of failures by the education system and local schools. Due to being autistic, ADHD, sensory processing differences and anxiety based school avoidance since reception age to year 9, he has missed a lot of education and no school was 'just right'. I was so worried that my son wouldn't be able to engage but right from the first session it was clear to see that his needs were being met and understood better than they had been within any mainstream or special school in our area. Just under a year in and he's talking about college, has aspirations and is set to achieve his qualifications - something I was told he wouldn't even be entered for before having his needs met by the tutor.

My son is full-time home schooled due to his high levels of anxiety which is the primary presentation of his ASD/ADHD diagnosis. We have previously struggled to find a tutor that could effectively work with our son in a way that properly addressed his anxiety towards school work. Our quest for a kind, patient specialist maths tutor, experienced with working with children with autism, led us to SENsational Tutors. While exploring their website, l can across Iain, whose profile immediately caught my eye.

My son, with has autism, ADHD and sensory difficulties, along with a chronic sleep disorder, faced significant challenges in engaging with learning. Having been out of school for nearly 4 years, we have struggled to find tutors who could truly understand and work effectively with him.

Iain’s adaptability is truly exceptional, he skilfully adjusts his teaching style to meet my sons ever changing needs. We have had Luke for our son for the whole of last term to help him following a rough patch at school while he was not attending school due to serious illness due to difficulties at school . Our son has special needs(ADHD ) and Luke understands his needs perfectly - he formed a caring relationship and was his sole specialist sen tutor deleting the whole curriculum- our son caught up in many respects with his subjects and at the same time had fun doing so. His lessons are personally planned and he recognises that each student is unique - his lessons are to the point and challenging but Luke is always aware of when to change direction if the student is in difficulty. He is particularly skilful at including opportunities to build in interests like football for our sim and computer games. He is always helping our son to fulfil his potential and building his confidence. It’s good that he is a very experienced mainstream teacher too do understands how to reintegrate students back into school as needed. He has been the saviour of our sons education and has become a real friend as well as a tutor maintained regular education. Learning with Luke is not a chore- our son leaves each session happy and having learned do much. He is kind and patient and has build a safe space for our son and has really boosted his confidence and understands his needs fully- he looks forward to his sessions with Luke - sensational tutors are brilliant at matching students and tutors as they did with our son

My son has dyslexia and has struggled with English. I found Sensational Tutors through Google and we got in touch with Jane.

Jane supported my son through his English Nat 5 (Scottish equivalent of GCSEs) and he got an A. He has historically had fairly poor marks and this result was undoubtedly due to Jane's tutoring.

Jane is continuing to assist my son with English Higher and I am so pleased with his progress. He has been so stressed but through working with Jane more regularly, I can see his confidence growing.

Jane gives me a detailed summary of each session very quickly afterwards and is excellent at gauging K's mood. She is very caring and engaging and I am overjoyed that we found her. She is an outstanding tutor.

I contacted SENsational Tutors to find a tutor for my dyspraxic son. Joanna has been amazing: she took time to listen to our needs and understand our problems. It was not easy to find a tutor that provides sessions in person but we finally found Ewa.
Ewa is a very dedicated tutor. She prepares her lessons with my son meticulously. He can easily lose focus and get frustrated but Ewa manages to keep him engaged for the whole lesson. She is very patient and encouraging and he likes his sessions with her. I can see improvements in his academic performance and he seems more confident. I wholeheartedly recommend SENsational Tutors and Ewa.

Jenna has been the most amazing tutor for my Autistic / ADHD / PDA son who suffers from poor mental health and very mild learning difficulties (dyslexia & dyspraxia)

She is positive, enthusiastic and engaging and my son loves his sessions with her. He looks forward to going to them and always comes out happy and is talking positively about the future and sitting exams in functional skills with the help of Jenna.

Jenna gives him the space to discuss and talk about his special areas of interests which is key in building a good relationship. She has also been a great support to him whilst his mental health has been poor lately - letting him open up to her and allowing these discussions within the sessions.

She’s really helped to boost his confidence and he talks fondly both of Jenna and the work they do within the sessions together.

I honestly could not be happier with my choice of tutor. Jenna is a real credit to Sensational Tutors and from a parents perspective it is so lovely to have someone that just ‘gets it’ and doesn’t need constant direction. Jenna understands children like my son, how they learn, and what makes them tick - a gift not many have and is able to adapt her teaching to the needs of the student.

Joanna from Sensational tutors regularly checks in to see how things are going which is great as I know there is always someone there if any issues do ever crop up. She is also able to help matching tutors with families which is really helpful, especially if you are needing particular days and times to fit around other EOTAS / home schooling time tabling.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have had Jane as a tutor for our two energetic and autistic 9-year-old boys over the past two years. Jane is not just a teacher; she’s a wizard who magically helped them transition from homeschooling to mainstream school seamlessly. My son has been working with Krista for the past few months and I can't say (or write) enough amazing things about her. My family moved to England when my son was halfway through Year 10. Along with struggling with executive functions and ADD, we quickly realized how important Year 10 and Year 11 are with GCSEs and how far he was behind his peers. About five months into the year we decided to find a tutor to help him out and were fortunate enough to find Krista and SENsational tutors.

Since working once a week with Krista, probably the most noticeable difference in my son is his confidence level in testing for GCSEs. Not growing up in this country, we were ill prepared for what it's like to properly revise or sit an exam and be successful. My son was shying away from his studies feeling so overwhelmed and she immediately was able to help him understand the concepts of how to be successful in an exam and how to write properly to achieve maximum points. Simply put, she was able to turn the knowledge that he knew into a format that he could write on an exam and achieve higher scores......this is a huge deal when struggling with executive functioning and brain organization.

Once having a better understanding of revising was out of the way, she was able to tailor his tutoring sessions to target topics that he missed in early Year 10 and help him to streamline that knowledge most effectively. As any parent of a child with ADD knows, when a school gives you mountains of paperwork that your student has missed, combing through that and actually having your student focus is a nightmare. Krista was able to take months of studying and focus that into targeted areas to help him be successful on his upcoming tests.

Her sessions also allow Henry to change topics every week from physics to religious studies and ask questions for clarification that he might otherwise be too embarrassed to ask. She is always able to make him feel more comfortable in his own skin in class after having a safe space to go through material that he might not have understood on the first or second pass in school.

Probably the best thing I can say about Krista is that EVERY WEEK my son looks forward to these sessions. Her warm and inviting nature somehow makes tutoring an enjoyable activity, even after a full day of lessons. He has never once complained or thought that the sessions weren't 100% worth his time and even as I write this note it makes my eyes start to water. The student that she has enabled has gone from being unsuccessful in his mock GCSEs to well on his way to passing or excelling in most of them.

I cannot recommend Krista enough, if you are fortunate enough to be able to work with her she is worth all the time, money and effort that you can put into it.

They really take the time to listen to the individual needs of the child to work out a suitable match for the child. It's not a like it or lump it service. They check in frequently so that they can be sure the support is continuing to deliver. It's not out of sight, out of mind.

Our 13-year-old son is in the autistic spectrum and could not tolerate school schedule, thus the school outsourced tutoring at home. We are delighted that the school managed to find a SEN-qualified tutor Luke via SENsational Tutors. Although Luke lived too far and only online sessions were feasible, he took efforts to learn our son's favorite online games to gain rapport. He was very sensitive to the child's changing body language and emotions, and adapt his strategy with agility. He always build up the child's confidence with positive comments and praises. Luke engaged the student with discussions around a wide variety of topics including geopolitical issues, law, human rights, environmental protection, vegetarianism, etc. He also provided a wide range of activities/quizzes/lessons in English, math, and science. Our son was often able to participate positively in Luke's sessions. Eventually, he was admitted to a special school. In the last few sessions, Luke provided useful information regarding classmates with special needs and friend-making strategies to prepare our son for his new school. In our opinion, Luke is flexible and responsive to student's varying needs and adapt his strategies accordingly, and that contributes to successful tutorship.

Ayanna was amazing with our 9 year old son who has autism and adhd . She immediately understood his needs , and worked very well with him on language , building communication and functional play . He was waiting for her everyday day .

This company is a Godsend. I have struggled to find someone who has the patience and expertise to deal with the short attention span of my son who struggles with ADHD. Ayanna is very experienced and makes the sessions fun and informative, supporting him with appropriate resources. Finding my son facing difficulty in English, I have struggled to find tutors to help him. But most tutors focus on 11+, which are too difficult for my son to follow up.

I random search a SEN tutor and get SENsational Tutors Ltd. The price doubles that I can only afford a few sessions. Therefore I just pay for 6 sessions during Summer holiday, and concerate on only one single issue : comprehension.

Tutors Caroline understands my plan, and really delivers what I expected. She has given extra clam-down time and toys for my son as I requested, started with easier level, and has taught PEEL strategy.

I find that 6 sessions with SEN tutor is better and cheaper than 50 non-SEN tutor, given that if you can explicitly state one particular issue and target of your child.

I would highly recommend Ayana as a tutor. She has been incredibly effective in helping my little guy with his studies.
