Does not feel like a market ready product yet
Got the Sandsara mini as a birthday gift. The sand they provided with it is simply not enough to cover the whole plate. You always get part of the pattern in very shallow sand, which makes the pattern seem less defined around that part of the plate. It's like a third of the pattern is barely visible, constantly.
The app is painfully slow and somewhat buggy, the lights around it flicker and do not feel like high quality LEDs. I haven't measured their CRI but the colors feel off (think Philips Hue LED bulbs vs. cheap AliExpress ones).
Now, if those were the only issues, I would have been pleased. My main gripe is that every few days, the sand sticks to the top cover, almost completely obscuring the view. The user has to lift the cover, wipe it clean, try to get as much of the wiped sand back into the device, then repeat every few hours. You lose some sand every time you do this. This product was clearly not tested in a high humidity household. Wish I could add a photo to show the sand sticking to the top cover.
Either way, its a very creative idea, and it shows they put a lot of love into it, but unfortunately, it's just not market ready. Feels more like a proof of concept or a demo than a finished product.
Very disappointed. Haven't tried their customer service since according to the rest of the reviews, they won't really help anyway.
