Highly recommend this service. We had Isobel who has been great and we have seen a great improvement in our son.
I had previously had speech therapy face to face with a different company so was unsure how this was going to go. I highly recommend, it’s brilliant and very reasonably priced.

Having worked with Debi for several months, we've seen brilliant progress and development.

The appointments are through video call and everyone is made to feel relaxed with fun sessions that adapt to how the child is doing over time and at that specific day (when they may or may not be in the mood!).

Facing long wait times for local in-person consultations for our son, we secured an initial conversation with Debi within 24 hours.

She was kind, warm and very thorough, working methodically through how our toddler’s stammer had developed and how it affected him. She provided reassurance and useful practical advice that we were able to put into action straight away ourselves and at our son’s nursery. These strategies made an immediate difference.

Debi then followed-up with clear, informative written advice that we have drawn on frequently and been able to share with our family and the nursery.

The consultation and advice were also highly cost-effective and much less than local private consultations.

Highly recommended company. My 18-year old daughter needed a bit of help with a minor speech difficulty & after a quick chat Debi identified the best speech therapist for her specific problem. They then did on-line sessions which were very useful - always on time, friendly, good value... Really excellent from start to finish.

Isabel at SmartSpeech worked wonders with our 4 year old daughter and her delayed speech sounds. The sessions were well structured, very child friendly and gave us a clear understanding of what to focus on between sessions. Even over a Zoom setting Isabel managed to develop an extremely good rapport with our daughter and she always looked forward to her speech therapy sessions! Our main concern to begin with was she wouldn't be understood when starting primary school however her speech has came on leaps and bounds since March when our sessions started and nursery staff, family members and friends are constantly commenting on the significant improvement over the last few months! We would highly recommend Isobel - she has been fantastic!

We used Smart Speech to help our 7 year old son with his “S” sound and it was fantastic! Debi was lovely and made the sessions fun and engaging, so much so that our son still regularly asks if he can see Debi again. He learned through play so it didn’t feel like learning and progress was so quick and noticeable from week to week that he only needed 3 sessions to achieve what we hadn’t managed in years of trying with him up to that point. The home learning activities were well explained and gave us the tools to support the sessions and help him moving forwards too. I highly recommend Smart Speech.

Debi was fantastic! She helped me work with the issues my son faced, offering suggestions and support at every level. Debi is very attentive and always eager to help, no matter what time, day or night. It’s very reassuring to get the support from SmartSpeech when it can be a very worrying time for a family when your child isn’t meeting the recommended milestones.

I can not fault the help i have received from Smart Speech. My son has been babbling since the age of 2, but since seeing the Health Visitor they stated he requires Speech & Language assistance. With the situation we were in regards to lockdown, i got barely support from NHS. I found Smart Speech and to be honest it was the best money i spent on my child. He now can talk so much, he still struggles abit as he gets excited and doesnt know what words to use but is 100% better than when he started.

Highly recommend smart speech. The clear building sets in each lesson has enabled my son to progress with his speech at his pace. He went from saying 5 to 6 words to now nearly 50 in 9 weeks. Thank you so much!

Supportive and Reassuring
I found details for SmartSpeech during lockdown because the usual Chatterbox services weren't operating and I really wanted to talk to someone knowledgeable about my son's speech/language delay. Even the initial consultation was so helpful and reassuring for me, to know what I should be expecting and looking for and how I could help him. The weekly lessons were so good for me as a parent to be able to focus my attention on interactive activities. They empowered me to feel like I was actually helping him rather than just worrying! Now that his vocabulary has developed considerably, I will contact Debi again to help with the next stage; helping him to become clearer in his speech because the lessons are such good value and I want to do everything I can to support him.

I contacted Smart Speech as my grandson was mostly silent at 27 months. He had never really babbled as a baby and it was very difficult to get any sounds other than car sounds and animal sounds out of him. My daughter started teaching him signs as we knew them as we have family members who are profoundly deaf. This helped him to communicate his “wants” such as food and milk but he still wasn’t verbalising. We knew that he wasn’t deaf as he was acutely aware of sounds and indicated this to us. He did have a lip tie and we were concerned about this, but the health visitor assured us that it wasn’t a problem and wasn’t the cause of his silence. Shortly after I contacted Smart Speech, my grandson had a fall which cut his lip (and we think the lip tie). I started to use the weekly sessions with my grandson and my daughter was doing the same with a private speech coach too. The difference in my grandson is amazing, from having regular temper tantrums because he wasn’t able to express himself, he’s now a chatty little boy. We can’t always understand everything that he is babbling about but it definitely makes sense to him. When he uses single words, his speech and enounciation is very clear. He adds 2/3 new words a day to his language and can now say short sentences. We expect this to continue to improve now that he is more confident.

He is now 31 months old and he is a much happier little boy. He can have conversations with us and is prompting conversations. The whole family is much happier and less worried about him. We are confident that my grandson is now on the path to being a normal chatty boy who can also use sign language! We’re all very happy.

Debi gave us all the tools to help my grandson to develop his speech and I will be forever grateful.

I contacted Smart Speech as my son has difficulty pronouncing some speech sounds.
We have received speech therapy with the NHS but with the issue of COVID at the moment I thought we would try to find some therapy online.
I was contacted by Debi who carried out an assessment of my sons speech via a Zoom call.
We then participated in further Zoom calls for speech therapy.
The whole process was excellent and meant that we did not need to attend a clinic as we could learn from home.
Debi is very friendly and helped my son feel at ease despite him being shy. Once he had chatted with Debi for a few minutes his confidence grew.
We also received resources via email so that we could continue with the therapy process following on from lessons.
I would definitely recommend Smart Speech as an alternative to attending a clinic.
