Great service for the busy runner looking for PBs!

Brandon has been my coach for about 3.5 years. He’s trained me through my first marathon, pregnancy, and postpartum. Brandon is such a great coach because he’s not only propelled me to huge PBs, but he’s done it in the context of time constraints with a full time job and being a present parent. I’d recommend Brandon and run your personal best to any busy runner looking to get the most out of your training and see how fast you can go.

RYPB is the best

I have been working with Brandon for almost 3 years now, and there are not enough words for how great it has been! My progress has been nothing but linear, taking my marathon time from a 3:27 to a 3:07, along with other PR’s in other distances. Aside from time goals, the training I have been given has overall made me a stronger runner, physically and mentally.

Brandon is very in tune with what I am capable of, and challenges me day by day with the workouts he gives. He listens to my goals and builds workouts necessary to reaching these.

Nothing but gratitude for Brandon and RYPB!!

Perfect balance!

I’ve been training with Brandon for just under three years now, and although he was the first coach I ever hired, I know I hit the jackpot. Great, customized coaching

I started working with Coach Brandon through RYPB back in 2022 when I was looking for some guidance and accountability to complete a half marathon as a once-a-week jogger. I had no expectation of continuing to run after that race, but it has since turned into a long-term coaching relationship. My running and overall fitness have improved far beyond what I ever thought possible, including qualifying for Boston, running a sub-90 half marathon, and setting massive PRs at every distance.

What really sets RYPB apart is how personalized the coaching is. Training plans are tailored not just to my running goals, but to my actual life, including balancing other sports I participate in. I never feel like I’m following a generic plan, and Brandon is great about adjusting workouts when needed and truly listening to feedback.
As I’ve increased my own investment in the sport and set bigger goals, Brandon has supported me every step of the way and adapted my training accordingly, without ever pushing me to the point of burnout. I’m incredibly thankful I found RYPB and Coach Brandon. There’s no way I would have stayed in the sport or achieved the success I have without his guidance, patience, and thoughtful strategy. His knowledge of running is extensive, and it’s clear he genuinely wants to help people succeed on their own terms. 10/10 RYPB is a great investment in your present and future self

From Couch to 4:20 mile

From Couch to 4:20 mile

I was a decent NCAA athlete in my day but since graduating I stopped running competitively and put on about 60 pounds.

Brandon was able to coach me, in a very limited time, from a weight lifting couch potato to a competitive 4:20 miler. His knowledge of current optimal training methods and his ability to cater things toward my lifestyle helped to accelerate my progress at a rate I didn't really think was possible.

He started coaching me in February of 2025 and by June of 2025 I was winning road miles and running 4:20 with a powerful kick at the end. I was also able to run 1:58 for 800m, something I hadn't done since college in 2012.

I highly recommend Brandon's coaching as it seems to have a bit of that 'magic touch' that will have you shocked at your own race times.

READ THIS REVIEW

This honestly might be one of the first reviews I’ve ever written which I hope signifies that Brandon is the real deal! I can base this entire review solely on results. I know Brandon has successfully trained many people for all kinds of races and events. What sets him apart is he has also successfully trained myself and another individual for arduous selection pipelines within the SOF community. I’m sure there have been others but I’m just speaking from what I know and my experience. Without Brandon’s knowledge and coaching I truly believe the outcome would have been significantly different. He is responsive if you need someone to make quick changes. He is intelligent and will explain the reason if something needs to change. He gives you all the tools you need to prevent injury and perform at the level you want to or need to. His own accolades also speak for themselves. Being a good athlete is one thing but having a good coach is everything. You could be the most athletic person in the world but you need someone who knows how to direct that, push it, and train that person. Brandon will do all of those things. If you listen, trust the process, and do the work he will get you where you want to go. Alright, I’m hoping off the soap box. You want to break records, push yourself and get better then Brandon is your guy. For the dudes getting ready for some sort of pipeline Brandon is also your guy!

Best Training Decision

I’ve worked with Coach Cory for a couple years now and I have to say it was the best decision I’ve made regarding my training. He’s coached me through multiple races and helped me reach PR’s in marathon, half and 5K. His support and teaching is unmatched and I can’t recommend Run Your Personal Best enough!

Best marathon experience thanks to this coaching!

Working with Run Your Personal Best was a total game-changer for me. My first marathon was a disaster where I hit the wall hard, so I knew I needed help for the Berlin Marathon. The coaching I got was exactly what I needed. My race in Berlin was like night and day compared to my first. Even though it was a super hot day, I felt strong the whole time and even managed to negative split! A huge reason for this was Coach Coary helping me finally nail my fueling strategy. Cory was also always great about adjusting my plan anytime I got sick or had a small injury pop up, so I never felt stressed or like I was falling behind. All the encouragement and the personalized plan made me feel so much more confident going into the race. I'm so excited to keep training and see what's next. If you want a coach who's super supportive and gets you real results, I cannot recommend Run Your Personal Best enough!

I finished my first Half-Marathon!

I truly enjoyed working with my coach (Coach Cory). When I reached out after becoming a mother and after more than two years without structured training, I was feeling uncertain, but Coach Cory was supportive and encouraging (as always). With his guidance, I was able to complete my first half-marathon.

The training plan was flexible and adaptable to my schedule, and my coach was always willing to accommodate changes. I’m thrilled with the results and highly recommend him to anyone looking to achieve their goals.

Even as a busy mom and not a professional athlete, I found the program motivating and empowering. I’m excited about the future and looking forward to continuing to work with Coach Cory to achieve even more goals.

Working on endurance

I joined in hopes of working on endurance, improving personal bests, and assistance with fatigue. I worked with Cory for about a month. My workouts weren't posted until the day before the upcoming week. His solution for fatigue was to talk to a doctor and run less milage. I was hoping for customized workouts and they were anything but that. They read as such "run 35 minutes" at a pace suggested that was 30-60 minutes slower than my moderate runs. This was every day. Feedback on workouts completed were lacking.

Kristen, Thank you for the candid review, and I’m sorry I fell short. After coaching for over 10 years, I do not take feedback like this lightly. Detailed responses, customized training, and timely delivery are the core of a successful coaching relationship. Your experience isn’t the experience I aim to deliver—nor is it typical—but that doesn’t change your outcome here.

For context, when an athlete reports persistent fatigue, I often suggest checking labs (e.g., iron) and temporarily reducing volume first to rule out any potential medical issues. In these situations, I also tend to keep a tighter leash on releasing new runs and workouts because what we do next depends on how the client is feeling, and this may change rapidly. Still, I should have explained the why better. That's on me.

Supportive, expert coaching that goes the distance!

With Julie's expert coaching, I successfully completed my first 50-mile ultramarathon! I've had multiple knee surgeries over the years, and was able to run this race injury-free. Julie tailors her coaching to your specific needs and provides so many great tips that make all the difference for training and racing.

Working with Julie (Tertin) Sandquist as my ultra-running coach was an outstanding experience. As a new entrant to ultra-running, her motivational pep talks and strategic guidance were instrumental in helping me complete my first 50-mile runs. Julie has a responsive and adaptive coaching style that addressed my unending list of questions, ranging from shoe selection and dietary adjustments, stretching, cross-training, chaffing and even specific race selection. Her approach focuses not on a single race but on a strong recovery phase leading to long-term race habits. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking to conquer their ultra-running fears and challenges.

Running into my new AG with Run Your Personal Best

Simple, Direct, Honest, Personal and Blunt:
Working with Coach Birdsong has been simple - I told him my running goals and what type of cross training I like to do and he creatively builds weekly workouts to fit my needs.

Our 6-days a week communication style has been direct and honest. I tell him daily how I feel after a workout or a mental struggle at work and we go from there in a positive, uplifting, and guiding momentum.

The personal workouts that Coach Birdsong builds in my Final Surge app are always prompt and push me to be the best athlete that I can be.

I'm pretty blunt about my personal running struggles and how I take myself way too seriously and Coach Birdsong handles my pirate mouth like a pro!

I had the opportunity to meet him in person and I found him to be genuine and a total sweetheart.

The monthly fee is well worth investing it in myself.

If you are on the fence about using an online service for a running coach - you should definitely consider Run Your Personal Best.

Coach Brandon 10/10

I can not recommend Run Your Personal Best enough! I've been working with Coach Brandon for over 2 years. He has coached me to PR in every distance from the 5k to the marathon. Since working with Brandon, I've shaved over 15 minutes off my marathon time, from 3:40 to 3:24, qualified for the Boston Marathon & ran a personal best at Boston. Brandon genuinely cares about his clients and their success. He is knowledgeable, personable, and motivational - he is relentlessly supportive. I’ve been working with Coach Brandon for almost 2 years now and I can’t recommend him and the Run Your Personal Best team enough! Plateau -> Running PRs

Coach Brandon is the best! When I was looking to run a marathon, I knew that I couldn’t do it alone. So thanks to a recommendation, I found Run Your Personal Best. I got matched with Coach Brandon and he has helped me PR tremendously! I went from a 3:40 marathon down to a 3:04:08 marathon. Thanks to Coach Brandon’s guidance we were able to pin a strategy that was optimal for me to race well. I was also able to PR in the half marathon as well coming from a 1:26:55 half all the way down to a 1:22:03 half. Would highly recommend Run Your Personal Best if you want to optimize your running. I stopped plateauing and started PRing which is what I wanted! Thanks Coach Brandon! You’re the best!
