The plumber was nice
The plumber was nice. However, I found it strange that a supervisor came first to evaluate, and then the plumber followed. Our toilet was leaking, and after removing the toilet the plumber found the PVC ring was broken, so they replaced that and the other piece the toilet sits on. The total tab was $1025. Which is way too much, but I needed the toilet fixed quickly. The Plumber did a great job cleaning after himself, so I was thankful for that.
Extremely expensive
While the work was completed quickly and efficiently, the cost was extremely high for what was done. I paid $715 for two technicians to snake a sink and shower drain, removing hair, makeup, and a few small obstructions. The job took about 35 minutes.
In hindsight, I wish I had questioned the pricing beforehand, as I wasn’t familiar with what a fair cost should be. That said, the price felt excessive for the time and scope of the work. Because of this, I would not choose to use this company again.
I am disappointed because just four…
I am disappointed because just four years after installation, I had to replace my Pump Sewer Ejector, although I was told it should last 15 years. When I called Jiffy Plumber, they discovered that the original plumber hadn't replaced the valve, which turned out to be the root of the problem. Not only did the initial repair cost over $2,100, but I also expected better quality of work. Jiffy provided a military discount, and I paid $1,675 with a guarantee that if the issue recurs, they will only charge me for labor on future replacements. I reached out to Roto Rooter and was promised a follow-up call on Monday but it never happened. I had to call back and I was directed to Miguel Rios. My interaction with supervisor Miguel Rios was unhelpful; he asked me to send an email and the bill, yet never returned my calls. Despite emailing him for three months, I received no response. Based on this experience, I would not use this company again.

Had an outside Spicket changed because it was busted. They charged me $955 which only took 45 minutes, so disappointed in them.
This company is made up of fraudsters…
This company is made up of fraudsters lacking any semblance of a conscience. I called them after a heater failure led to me waking up to a basement full of water. In my panic, I signed on for water mitigation in addition to the unit replacement. This was a terrible mistake.
They billed me nearly 7000 dollars for what could not have been more than 2k in labor and materials. That amount does not even include the $2000 water heater replacement, which I paid separately. When my insurance (rightfully) pushed back, listing a number of overestimates and outright fabrications in their line items, Roto-Rooter settled with them for a bit over half and stuck me with the remainder.
And those overestimates are EGREGIOUS. A plastic sheet taped to my ceiling? That's a "containment barrier" and is apparently valued at $160. A disinfectant sprayed haphazardly on my washer/dryer? That is "appliance cleaning" and cost me $250. That one was a separate charge from the same disinfectant they sprayed on the floor, which cost me several hundred more. In total there were nearly 40 line items, each with fudged or invented numbers. It would be funny if it wasn't so infuriating.
It was my fault in the end for signing the contract without taking a closer look at their reputation first. The company runs a very specific playbook where they promise that your insurance will cover all expenses, and then overcharge to such an extent that no adjuster would reasonably sign off on anywhere close to the full amount. Check the reviews for their many other branches and you'll find this story repeated everywhere.
Please do not make the same mistake I did. Find a local, independent business to call. You will be sorry if you call Roto-Rooter.
Consumer caveat!
onsumer caveat!! This company came out to my house because I had been gardening and opened the water faucet outside and by mistake closed the water valve next to it. When I saw I had no water inside the house I called them because I wasn’t sure what had caused it to shut down. They came and he said he would run a diagnostic which may I involve removing the pipes etc. but at the first try, he realized that the faucet just needed a bit more turn to open it (I hadn’t tried) and he just opened the faucet and then water was restored in the house. I thought for sure he would understand that it was not a diagnostic he performed and would not charge the full fee, but he (and the managers) insisted that even touching the faucet was $165. A complete rip off. I wish I had checked their reviews first. They have terrible reviews and now I know why.

Never showed.
Hired these guys for the first time to hydro a drain. Signed up for a 9am appointment, first of the day. I received five phone calls stating they were running late, but cannot attest to their service since they never actually showed up. They must be really busy if they can't even make their first appointment, I would advise looking for a less busy or better staffed company.

I don’t have money for services I was…
I don’t have money for services I was tricked into getting. I will Never use R3 again and I'm letting the world know. A supervisor, Anthony Segura, came to my house while was having a leak from my garbage disposal repaired and one pipe replaced under. That costs me almost $900. He told me that my insurance was going to cover the water mitigation and talked me into having that horrible dehumidifier machine placed in my house for a week. I asked repeatedly to have that machine removed after the 2rd day because it was freaking my dogs. Anthony and the technician refused saying it would affect the insurance claim (cost over $1,600). I was lied to! I was told that if my insurance did not approve my claim, he would gather the equipment and there would be no charge. “Don’t worry” he said and to trust him. My insurance DENIED the claim and I am stuck with a big bill. Advice; Do Not Allow Them To Start Work on your home until it is approved by your insurance company.
Beware of their websites reviews
Beware of their websites reviews, it wouldn't surprise me if there fraudulent like there pricing before the work is done. Yes they arrived on time, but as far as up front pricing goes, they are great at fraudulent pricing. The gentlemen had told me $62.80, to put a universal toilet replacement kit ($30.00) part. To find out after he installed it, he billed me for $620.80. The install took less then 15 min. and I had taken it up with his manager regarding the false pricing and the over charged amount. The manager went on to say he didn't know why the individual said 62.80, but the 620.80 was a fair price in the commercial industry and he then went on to insult the small business "Mom & Pops" might give you the 62.80 pricing. If you enjoy good initial phone consultation and then enjoy a fraudulent overpriced bill, their the company for you.

Stay away from this company
Stay away from this company. This is the worst company I have ever worked with. We had just moved into a newly built home and hired Roto rooter to install a simple countertop water dispenser that was supposed to be hooked up behind the fridge. The plumber negligently removed a piece that was closing off the water pipe (as he openly stated out loud “I’ve never seen this tab before”), proceeded to pull the tab out, causing the water to burst and flood our kitchen and dining room. He didn’t even attempt to turn off the water beforehand or check where the water shut off was before proceeding. They claimed that it was non-negligent because it wasn’t intentional. Such a disgusting move by this company. They brought in flood specialists as “courtesy” (even though it was 100% their fault) but then proceeded to rip out the baseboards to let the drywall dry up. Then they had the audacity to say that it was our responsibility and out of our pockets to reinstall the baseboard. This is a completely fraudulent company. Another example of large companies not wanting to take accountability of something that is completely their fault. I would 100% NOT recommend this company to anyone I know, and to everyone else I do not know.
Needed my toilet snaked from a clog
Needed my toilet snaked from a clog. They came out quick and affordable. No gimmicks or extra charges. Will keep them on speed dial as I was pleasantly happy with the service.
Overpriced and Unprofessional
I am extremely disappointed with the pricing for my recent garbage disposal replacement. I was charged $950 for a job that took the technician only 50 minutes to complete. While the technician was professional, the labor rate works out to be astronomical. I feel completely overcharged for a standard, less-than-one-hour repair. I would recommend getting a firm quote elsewhere before booking.
Update:
Sent this email:
Hello,
I am writing to formally dispute the charges on my account for a service performed today, January 11, 2026, by your Indianapolis/Westfield branch.
The service involved the replacement of a garbage disposal. The technician was professional, but I am extremely concerned by the total bill of $1,000.00 for a job that took approximately 50 minutes to complete.
Even with the cost of a high-end disposal unit, this total appears to be significantly outside the standard market rate for the Indianapolis area. According to current 2026 industry data, a standard garbage disposal replacement—including both the unit and professional labor—typically ranges between $300 and $550. A $1,000 charge for less than an hour of labor suggests a labor rate or markup that is difficult to justify.
I am requesting a formal, itemized breakdown of this $1,000 charge, specifically clarifying:
The specific model and retail value of the disposal unit that was installed.
The exact labor fee or "flat rate" code applied to this 50-minute repair.
An explanation of how this total aligns with Roto-Rooter’s regional pricing for routine appliance swaps.
I would appreciate a response regarding these charges and a review of this invoice to ensure it reflects a fair and reasonable price for the time and materials provided.
Manager Response:
A manager contacted me via phone the next day. The manager was dismissive, stating I should have "done my research" beforehand. This ignores the fact that I didn't know the unit required a full replacement until the technician diagnosed it on-site. I was essentially penalized for trusting their professional assessment in the moment. The manager refused to provide specific numbers for parts or labor, offered zero transparency, and made no effort to resolve the dispute.

Had issues with our sewer line backing up for a while and had them put a few times to snake and clear the line. Was told multiple times it needed to be replaced because jetting wasn’t an option. Fast forward to the most recent time we had them out to snake and this guy tells me it needs to be jetted actually. I tell him what I was told before and he assures me that I can in fact be jetted. I said I want to hold off so I make sure I have the extra $700 the jetting will cost. He comes back out a week later WHILE IM AT WORK and does it anyway. I am just sent an invoice. I did not approve of that work at all and then had a horrible experience trying to speak with anyone regarding the issue, none of them communicating to each other, and them threatening collections of I didn’t pay.
The worst company
This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. Roto-Rooter is disorganized, unresponsive, and aggressive once they want payment.
They do not return calls — ever. After leaving fans at my home that appeared to be overheating, no one followed up, no one checked in, and no one called back, despite multiple attempts. I had to deal with the situation on my own, which felt unsafe and irresponsible on their part.
They also just show up without coordination and expect you to be home, rather than communicating like a professional service company.
Billing was another nightmare. I was overbilled twice, and it was only corrected because I caught the mistakes myself. Had I not checked carefully, I would have been charged incorrectly with no accountability.
Once billing became an issue, the tone completely changed. Collections and field managers were rude, nasty, and unprofessional. If you don’t pay exactly when they want — regardless of billing errors — they become disgustingly disrespectful and are quick to threaten or send accounts to collections.
They clearly do not care about customer feedback, reviews, or BBB complaints — and it shows. I strongly encourage anyone considering Roto-Rooter to check the BBB and online reviews first, because my experience lines up exactly with the many negative reports already out there.
Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere
DO NOT USE IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS!
DO NOT BELIEVE THEM WHEN THEY QUOTE YOU AN ARRIVAL TIME AND YOU'RE HAVING AN EMERGENCY! I called around 12:50 because my house was flooding from running a load of laundry and discovering the main sewer line was blocked. Gross water was coming out of the toilets, shower, and bathtub and flooding my home. Roto-Rooter promised someone would be to me within an hour and that the man was in my area so he could get here quickly. An hour-and-a-half later, they called and said he was on his way and would be to my home in a few minutes. 40 minutes go by and still no one. I called them again, and they said he is still at least 20 minutes away. It's pretty clear at this point that they said what was necessary to lock me into using them in my emergency situation and had no intention of actually honoring that time. I called them and asked them to send someone else since this man was clearly over an hour away from me when they said he was "nearby." If they'd been honest, I would have kept calling other companies to get someone over to my flooding home ASAP.
If you're having an emergency do not trust these people to show up and keep calling the other companies! They are still not here and my home has been flooded for the last two hours and counting....
