Deluded linguist

I am a linguist who answered a call for my language combination on a Facebook Jobs in Italy group, consigned in time the requested large translation within a strict time frame of 72 hrs. working round the clock, only to wind up with a nightmarish three weeks from the contract with the company setting up more and more hoops for me to jump through to see my contracted payment. I was directed to an outsourced financial planner to direct me through the payment process, it's three weeks later and several different financial planners down the line, asking me for more and more payment of my own money to have my pay released. I accepted the job as they promised payment by Paypal, which I know to to pay fast cross-border transfers, as I'm in Italy and the contracted work was with a contract based in New York state, United States. Later on, I was led step by step, with more and more red flags raising, to open an account with a shabbily- working financial services site full of typographical errors, where I was told they deposit employees payment. I was told that I would be a future part-time employee, hence I needed to set up my payment procedure, but days turned to many weeks of ever more hoops to jump through. They had me enroll in a second financial services site supposedly based in the UK, yet which seemed that they hastily copied and pasted a logo over the earlier screenshot of the other site, very similar format and graphics and the man who identified himself as a financial services employee work showed on the site they forwarded the funds to my account and from there I could transfer to my Italian account. In was told I must pay a US levy, but rather than to a levy bureau, when typing in the IBAN code, red flags showed up, as the bank app showed the code linked to an individual and not a levy bureau, a man with a name seemingly with typically Slavic spelling, the bank branch was located in Eastern Europe and was not a US levy bureau within the USA. They are currently telling me they will not release payment unless I pay 200 euros by PayPal, which they say they will refund after 20 minutes, in order to release payment. I do not trust this organisation and have lost 72 hrs of backbreaking work and three weeks of being led by the nose to recover contracted payment these people do not appear to have interest in paying with any trustworthy manner. My husband will not allow me to send our hard earned money to receive my payment and we are at a stalemate again. These people appear to play trusting, honest workers for a huge ride. They affirm they are a real trustworthy company, however these are highly irregular practices and I have lost all trust in them. I am out of 4.000 work and 135 euros so called "US levy" for currency conversion, sent to a dubious person in Eastern Europe, I learned only too late on the bank app. Extremely deluded by the Facebook platform for not vetting employers in their job offer groups.

scammer asks u to open account in their site

i have been contacted by this company called vortex trusties and said they will offfer customer support job. they will email u and ask u all the information and tell u to open account in thier fake bank site and say u will have access to ur funds bbut later they say some server issue and u have to pay some penatly money to access those funds. remotehub should check these comanies ligitemacy and let them upload. or else this site will be gone to waste. these r real professional scammers. people should be alert. some scammers ask u money before and some ask u after all the effort and work done by u at the end. badically they will waste ur time and money. take this seriously remotehub and filter ur job posting posted by scammers.

I completed a task of 16 logos .but…

I completed a task of 16 logos .but didn't get any payment .I am pakistan based .there's no smooth and secured payment method at remote hub .
Even employers invite people on telegram and then remove their accounts .this is so strange. There's no security or proper monitoring by remote hub .it was really pathetic experience.

The site is good it helped me get my…

The site is good it helped me get my first internship.
However, I have so far come to realize that the site has no procedure of screening out scammers and impersonators .

I get numerous applicants however 95%…

I get numerous applicants however 95% of the time they are from countries outside of where this job is. It might be a remote job however we look for people within the country as it states in the ad.

Really bad experience most of the jobs like danta entry is fake and people's are just giving their telegram id and steal your data some of they are scammers or hackers.so its request from the company forst check the everything related to the employer otherwise banned their company because many people's are making fool of needy people's in another way.

SCAM

There are a couple of accounts that are scamming people on this platform, RemoteHub will have no business in this as they say they have nothing to do with the communications we have with third parties outside RemoteHub.

-Abigail John
-James Pablo or James Pabla
and a couple of more accounts. If they ask you to click a link that redirects you to Telegram is a SCAM, don't follow that and they ask for money "for registration" they contacted me for a Telecommunication's company called TELUS, and I contacted TELUS and they told me that they will never contact anyone through Telegram and will never ask for money. PLEASE be careful with this page (RemoteHub) there is a lot of scammer there and RemoteHub will do NOTHING about it.

Scammer Infested Job Listing Site

It's sad the amount of blatantly fake companies that are allowed to create postings on this site. A simple Google search of the company name tells you that it's fake. Yet these "companies" are littering this website with fake scam job postings without any vetting from Remotehub beforehand. Many others have noticed this and are leaving similar reviews.

Remotehub tends to give this response:

"We regret you had a negative experience with these services.

However, we do not have any control or responsibility over any transactions and payments that occur outside of Remotehub and without using our escrow system. We are also not a party to any agreement between you and a third party."

Of course you don't have control of things that happen outside of Remotehub. The issue is that you are not taking control of the things inside of your own platform. Simple, basic security and pre-screening measures would instantly remove 95% of these scammers and their listings.

I think that another user hit the nail on the head when they said this...

"But really what annoys me the most is that I reported the attempt twice to remote hub and never got any feedback. As if they are a part of it!"

Translation job is a scam
Many of the offers posted for translation jobs on this site are merely scams. Always know that when it’s too good to be true it probably is. Scammers on this site initially fish for native speakers for translation jobs and promise to pay a lucrative sum. They direct you to their telegram channel. Once you initiate the chat and show interest, you get the job. They try to pose as anything. A simple google search would suffice for you to know their intentions. Some even go to the extent of directing you to a website and if you are naïve enough they would convince you to pay tax on a payment you did not receive 🤣
Some would even try to convincing you to create a crypto currency account using the “company’s “ email address

The thing is it’s always the same: appealing offer, directed to telegram, false claim of payment in crypto and bang that is where it happens

But really what annoys me the most is that I reported the attempt twice to remote hub and never got any feedback. As if they are a part of it!

I contacted two companies through…

I contacted two companies through RemoteHub for a freelance translation job. One asked for money upfront (without even a speed test) and the other said they would pay only in full once the work was completed and upon disclosing my bank data for a money transfer. No payment via paypal. Very fishy! Beware. I did not sign up... I do not understand why RemoteHub does not bother checking out "companies" who offer jobs on their site. It is irresponsible.

Mogul Remote Hub is a scam!

This scammer actually came to email me after he saw my details in other translation service site. And almost tempt me by offering me $5,435 for 144 pages of translation work to be done in 3 days. Oddly speaking, they do not even have any assessments and I have not heard a job of translating this many pages in such a short amount of time. surely, it is a scam. Be careful! they are finding more victims out there to scam us.

I got a client in RemoteHub

I got a client in RemoteHub. Their company is ABSTRICT MEDIA-HOUSE and said it was located at 192 Lexington, New York. Please beware of this because they were SCAMMERS!!!! They will let you work as a translator. After discussing everything and signing for contract, you will have the project details sent in your email. Then of course you will work for it to submit it on time. But after taking lots of hours and exerting effort in your work, in the end you will not be paid off. Trust me! And the worst thing was they will have this kind of strategy which you have to pay first for you to get your payment. What a waste of time!
