⚠️ Warning
⚠️ Warning: Avoid this company at all costs!
I tried to book a flight and hotel through their website, and every time I submitted my payment, I got an error message saying, “Oops, something went wrong.” I tried again, assuming the payment didn’t go through — but the next day I discovered they had charged me twice!
When I called to cancel one of the duplicate bookings, they told me it was non-refundable, even though both reservations were under my own name for the exact same flight. They refused to help, and now I’ve had to open a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back.
Please learn from my mistake — if you see “Oops, something went wrong” after payment, do not try again! You’ll likely be charged multiple times, and they won’t refund you. Terrible customer service and a terrible experience overall.
i purchase a vacation package for 2 on…
i purchase a vacation package for 2 on retag.ca going to Domonica republic Punta Cana in august 2025
I call in and asked about my luggage and the rep told me that I am allowed to take 1 check luggage 1 hand luggage and 1 personal item.
on the day of checking in for my flight i had to pay $45 for check luggage each
when you buy from sun wing you get free check luggage
Do not book over the phone
Do not book over the phone because you will not get confirmation email from them. They probably wrote wrong email address and now we are not sure if they put correctly our names as well!!!!! Daren who was sold to us vacation he said he will send email later but we didn’t get any response from him!!!!!! When you try to call him he doesn’t answer anymore!!!!!!
Just like I said my last name was wrong so I have trouble in airport!!!!!
Price increase during booking
3 times we tried to book a flight and hotel and 3 times it "failed" and when they call you, it's mysteriously higher. Sketchy. The last time, I was told they held the flight price. They told me the updated hotel price, which was about $30 lower than the one I had, yet the total was $87 more for two people, for a net increase on the "held rate" for the flight of $147 for two people!
Booked a 4 star hotel 7 weeks in…
Booked a 4 star hotel 7 weeks in advance. The hotel was a 5 hour drive from the airport. I was fine with that as it was daytime that we were on the road. When we arrived we were just put into a different hotel with hardly any of the amenities that the hotel I booked had offered. The hotel was nowhere near any standard I have experienced. Redtag refuses to give me even the contact number for the customer service person who is emailing me. They removed the hotel immediately but still refuse to get my money back. They continue to sell the other hotel claiming it has all sorts of amenities that are not available. Redtag is not a trustworthy place to book your holiday, they do not hold anyone to account for fraudulently selling a closed hotel. 75% of the guests booked the same hotel as I did. They used the nice hotel to book the crappy one. Please be sure to book directly with the service provider so you don't also go through this hassle. Halo Sun lies about the resorts they book for and Redtag knows this but continues to allow them to defraud the Canadian consumers.
Some months ago we booked a flight to…
Some months ago we booked a flight to Jamaica. Stayed at Riu in Ocho Rios. Booking the flight and everything went very well. When we got to the airport was a different story. The girl behind the sunwing counter said we needed a C5 form filled out before we got on the plane. We never knew this was a thing cause we were not told by Red tag. We managed to get it done at the airport but were the last ones on the plane. Cost us 21 dollars each although we were told that the form was free. Still waiting for red tag to send us the money
Redtag Treatment
Hello, I would like to share my experience with Redtag.ca. Looking for a march break with wife, teen, and a few friends. I booked our vacation on Redtag after I got home from work and kids sports and accidently forgot to put wife's name properly on booking form. It was late so I called them the next day. Phones were busy but to be expected with the major snow we had, flight cancelations, US plane upside down on tarmac etc I emailed and figured if I got a response sometime that week (it was a Monday) I would be happy. I saw a message come up and it was a Redtag representative 3 minutes after I sent the email....wow .... Very pleasant with her reply when I told her I messed up my booking 100% my fault. I was expecting to pay for that mistake because i saw other people say on social media it costs between $50 -$150 to make any amendments once sent. She never asked, so i did hahaha She said "Sunwing doesn't charge us so we don't charge you. That's our policy" I was simply amazed TBH.
It took a grand total of 15 minutes of clarification and me not paying close attention to my computer, to have the updated travel package updated and sent back to my Email. Unbelievable!
Part 2 A friend wanted to join us and was told by a travel agent that the plane and package was sold out. I go onto redtag.ca and the package was absolutely available She booked and is now very happy and so are we.
Oh final thing.....we first decided to try a travel agent and she just stated "you wont find anything in Cuba for under $2Kpp for the week" Well we all found for significantly less on Redtag.ca
Thanks for reading and sorry for the novel....I hopes it helps someone. Been nothing but thrilled with Redtag. No I dont work there or know any family/friends or paid hahaha
It is ridiculous they advertise a price…
It is ridiculous they advertise a price of $1,900 pp and when you are about to book the package, you're getting "Guess what? it is $2,700 now!" You know what their excuse is? "Our website is not live..." Just a reminder that we live in a year 2025.... Also how can company continue functioning with 1.5 star review?..
A horrible experience with incompetent Redtag DO NOT EVER BUY THEIR PACKAGE there are better alternatives!!
My girlfriend and I used Redtag for a week-long vacation to Peru, and unfortunately, our experience was incredibly disappointing. This was our first time using Redtag to handle everything from flights to airport transfers and hotels, but after the trip, I can confidently say that the company is completely disorganized and lacks basic planning skills.
Here are three major incidents that made me lose all trust in Redtag:
1) Incompetent Customer Service
I called Redtag two weeks before our flight to confirm the status of our tickets. The representative informed me that I needed to pay an additional amount for the tickets. I repeatedly explained that I had already paid and simply wanted to know when to expect the tickets, but it was clear the representative couldn't understand or process my request. Frustrated, I had to end the call without getting any resolution.
2) Hotel Issues and Extra Charges
We arrived at our hotel around 8:00 am after an exhausting 8-hour flight and a lengthy car ride. The receptionist informed us that we had arrived before the standard check-in time. We were offered the option to leave our luggage in the lobby and explore the city until check-in time at 3:00 pm. Given how tired we were, we had no choice but to pay an additional $30 for an early check-in. When we were shown to our room, we were shocked to find that it faced a wall just a few feet away, and no natural light was coming in. We immediately requested a room change, which the hotel staff thankfully handled without issue.
3) Airport Transportation Chaos
At the end of the trip, I called the taxi company (Jumbo Peru) assigned by Redtag to confirm our airport pickup time. Initially, I was told we would be picked up at 3:45 am, but the representative later informed me that the scheduled pickup was at 5:45 am. This made no sense, given that our flight boarded at 6:30 am, and the recommended arrival time for international flights is three hours prior. I requested a change to 3:45 am, but the representative insisted that it was too late to modify the pickup time. At that point, I had no choice but to schedule an Uber for 3:45 am. When we left the hotel that morning, both the Uber and the assigned taxi were waiting. I still don’t know what the taxi was doing there, but since we had already paid Redtag, we decided to take it. Meanwhile, we had to pay Uber’s cancellation fees.
The only positive aspect of this trip was the airline, Air Transat, which provided excellent service and comfort. However, this was something we could have arranged directly, without relying on the disastrous Redtag process.
In the end, I realized I could have planned and booked the trip on my own far better than Redtag did. For all the vacations to come, I will never use Redtag again, and I highly recommend you avoid them as well.
This is a trustworthy website
This is a trustworthy website. My first experience in Cancun with this website was great. Also I booked tickets for India. Pierson helped me in reserving that. He was very friendly and helped me throughout the entire process. Thank you Pierson.
I booked a trip to the Moon Palace…
I booked a trip to the Moon Palace Cancun. I realized that what I wanted to book was the Grand Moon Palace. No worries, I have 24 hours to cancel right? I look at the time and it's been roughly 22 so I call ASAP the guy on the phone is like... well I can't cancel it because I can't get ahold of the seller. WTF? okay ... but I need to within 24 hours. Tells me there's nothing he can do I hang up I call the next day during my work break. Some idiot tells me that I can get 50% of my trip refunded over and over. Like wtf, I'm trying to cancel because I realize I'm getting ripped the heck off. SO they aren't honest about their policy. IF its UP TO 24 hours as long as the agency is open and it closes at like 5pm then bloody say that. Therefore if you book anytime before 5 you have 24 hours but if you book at like 6 then you have 23 hours and so on.
terrible service
terrible service, truly a nightmare
Booked an all-inclusive trip to cancun…
Booked an all-inclusive trip to cancun with an agent over the phone. They were very friendly and helpful and got us booked for our trip.
The description of the hotel on redtag showed that the hotel included activities like:
Introduction to Scuba Diving in the pool. Snorkeling Equipment and Kayaking.
The hotel does NOT offer any of this. The hotel staff said they haven't offered that since the beginning of covid.
I also reached out to red tag website no response.
Once they get your money they will not contact you.
Do not book through redtag.
Hidden Fees and Unreliable Customer Service
This has been the worst experience ever, and I strongly recommend avoiding booking with Redtag Vacations! I know many people use Redtag to book their vacations, but everything seems fine until you need to contact them to make any changes to your booking. This company feels like a real SCAM!
We made a reservation on Redtag with a Transat flight. When I added the "Option Flex" package to my reservation, the price of the vacation increased unexpectedly. I’m not talking about the additional $89 per person—I’m referring to an increase in the price of the initial package itself, and you immediately see the message, "The price went up from...".
Additionally, if you decide to change ANYTHING in your order—whether it's the person, room upgrade, or any other details—you can't do that online, only through the agent! Of course, this is where they start charging you for everything! You have to pay an agent fee of more than $100 per person, just to make a small change! I called the agent to ask for a room upgrade, and I was quoted $960 for a $320 room upgrade, with the difference explained as a price adjustment based on Transat’s website, which seemed unreasonable.
Redtag claims to offer the best price but takes no responsibility once your booking is complete. The insurance ends up costing much more than $89 per person and provides nothing in return. It’s not worth it at all!
Be cautious when using Redtag—it feels like a scam!
change persons name on trip wont happen
book a vacation for two my friend had to cancel all i wanted to do was change name on ticket they told me i had to cancel her trip pay an extra 890 dollars and then try to get my other friend on the same flight but no way to confirm she would still be able to take the other spot. sunwing said it shouldnt be a problem red tag wouldnt let then name change happen. both sunwing and redtag had different answers to the same questions i was even willing to pay the change fee
It was annoying to have our return…
It was annoying to have our return flight with Westjet rescheduled twice on our PRE-PAID all inclusive 12 day vacation to Ocean Eden Bay Jamaica, I guess a reservation with Westjet means little to the customers that PAID money to RESERVE their trip package. Even more upsetting was referring Nexus Tours as our tours and attractions provider. When they cancelled our excursion due to bad weather they promised a refund, 7 weeks have pasted and still no refund? Nexus Tours is quick to take our money but are choosing to not refund the money they said they would.
feedback on recent experience
I have been a loyal customer of Redtag for over 10 years, consistently booking at least two vacations annually through their website. Recently, I was assisting a coworker with browsing vacation options during our downtime, and upon reviewing my most recent invoice from October, I noticed an issue regarding the non-medical cancellation charges. I was billed $250 per person (for two people), whereas the original booking clearly indicated a price of "starting from $97" or something similar, well under $100.
When I contacted customer service, I was told that I should have reviewed the details on the day of booking, and I was accused of providing inaccurate information. The representative also claimed that the final price is always clearly displayed in the summary, which was not the case in my situation. I was only given an estimate, and when I checked the website again, the price appeared as initially listed, but the final statement showed a significant price increase.
Additionally, I noticed that the booking process can be misleading. The displayed price would often change once I proceeded with the booking, increasing by several hundred dollars. These price adjustments were displayed in small text in the top right corner, which could easily be overlooked, especially when booking on a mobile device.
As a long-time customer, this experience has been very disappointing. I would appreciate a resolution to this issue, as I am considering taking my business elsewhere if this matter is not addressed. This is the first time I have encountered such problems with Redtag, and I hope to see a more transparent and customer-friendly approach moving forward.
Will never use red tag again.
I cancelled my family trip Nov.8/24 and was told in writing that I would get 50%refund within 2 weeks. After 2 weeks I emailed the red tag agent (twice) who helped me cancel my trip but he did not respond. After 3 weeks I still hadn’t received the refund. Called Red Tag and they said they would figure it out and call me back. Another week later I hadn’t heard back from them and I called again, was told I had to call back later that day. I did.
I’m the end I spoke with 4 red tag agents and nobody helped me. Will NEVER use red tag again.

First time using redtag.ca and I wish I had read these reviews sooner.
Horrible experience with making a simple change to a hotel that we paid over $2500 for.
Fee to change hotels even though it was done in less than 24 hrs.
Multiple reps telling me I couldn’t change it, it would take up to 15 days to get a refund for the hotel if I cancelled (hotel was fully refundable up to 5 days prior to travel) - just all around awful.
I will never use redtag again.
Expedia for TD is much better by far.
Advice to anyone who is reading this - book directly with the hotel and airline. Less costly.
