We went to red dog as we have been before and enjoyed it previously. 6 of us, 2 adults and 4 kids. Arrived and taken to a booth upstairs which was fine quite noisy as the other groups in the other 3 booths were mainly male groups. To be expected! Placed an order 3 starters, 6 mains and a side. I ordered a burger to come with no sauce first time it came out, smothered in sauce sent it back. The next time it came out (everyone else had pretty much finished this time!) it was still wrong, it came with no sauce and no American cheese which I didn’t request but didn’t want to send it back a second time. I’d give up by this point, server said he was going to sort out the bill, I presumed it was going to be discounted. Asked where the side of onion rings were and the server said they were coming, again there was only me eating at this point. Onion rings came out I said I didn’t want them and to take them back, and back off the bill because everyone had finished but my husband took them anyway. Not great. Bill came, got charged twice for the incorrect burger didn’t realise until after we paid took 10 minutes to sort the bill and rectify, so I would always check your bill. No discount, instead tried to charge me twice for an incorrect item. No kids menu either. It stated online they offer 15% blue light card discount, but they don’t. I asked the question to be told they don’t accept it.

£230 odd pound in total once the bill had been partially refunded for the mistake. Not sure we will be back.

Liverpool saloon was amazing!!!

Went to the Liverpool branch and I don’t have a single complaint. The venue was great and more importantly clean.
Service was spot on and the food, my word it was amazing!!!!

There are a lot of negative reviews here for other branches but the Liverpool saloon is absolutely worth the visit. Fantastic.

Worst Neal EVER Nottingham branch

Nottingham branch: The food, venue and hospitality (verging on racist) was so bad that I even begrudge writing a review!

Food: 2 cold, slices of unseasoned meat, coleslaw and overly salty, limp fries - £25.00 PLUS an uncooked frozen beyond meat burger and overly salty limp fries - £18.75… AND this is not an exaggeration!! I had to leave my food, as was inedible HOWEVER, the tiny bit I did eat left a horrible coating on my tongue and me feeling sick! Additionally, the menu did not list all the food on the plate, so we did not know that coleslaw came with a dish, so ended up with extra, which we’d ordered - you’d think the waitress would have warned us!

Even though we had a booking, we were seated facing the stage, beside the front door (on a really cold and windy night) even though there were other tables available! The manager said he would give us (inter racial couple) better seats when the band started playing, if we were still there EVEN THOUGH other seats became available straightaway where they sat white customers! Shocking!!! Never once offered to put us in a better seat!!!

To make matters worse, the benches we sat on were not fixed properly, so wobbled when other people moved AND we were sat above a very noisy nightclub, so could feel the base of the clubs music, which completely overpowered the venues.

The pictures on the website do not reflect the interior, which is dirty, old and sticky! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Toilets located far from the restaurant, through a maze of unsightly corridors, which was difficult to find.

We did get a reduced bill, but still paid £32 for half a meal, which wasn’t fit for a dog! They were very forthcoming with offering to reduce the bill as their prices are so high, and food quality so low that they can take the occasional hit as profit margins are so wide, so I think they will keep pushing out terrible food as because they don’t care about the customers - just making money!!!

So steer VERY clear of this restaurant unless you your strong appetite for country and western music has completely killed all your tastebuds, as this is the only way you can enjoy the food!!!!

Visited the Brighton branch (located within The Mesmerist) after seeing a mouthwatering video on Instagram showcasing their Brisket Philly sandwich. What I received was nothing like what was advertised.

The sandwich I got had about four thin, dry slices of brisket, zero candied jalapeños as promised, and overall looked (and tasted) like something thrown together with no care. I asked about the missing jalapeños, and they brought over a side plate of cheap jarred ones — clearly not the same thing.

Tried contacting them multiple times via Instagram to give them a chance to respond privately, but I’ve been completely ignored.

What’s worse is that I used to be a regular at their London locations and had good experiences in the past. Unfortunately, after this visit and the lack of care shown both during and after the meal, I won’t be returning.

Avoid if you’re expecting what’s advertised online — it’s not what you’ll be served.

Meat was tough and didn’t fall off the bone. They should send their chef to Diego’s in Bedford place. They know how to cook Ribs… rubbish and we went for the crème d la crème Oklahoma platter..!

Will not be returning !!

Terrible service terrible food . Ordered the sharing platter for £70 with a burger
What a joke . 2 peices of dry tough beef . The toughest mest iv ever had to chew . 4 tiny squares of pork belly . Will never ever be going to red dogs again . What a honest let down! Unbelievable I thought this was gonna be an absolute game changer of a place . So so so bad go and see for yourself. Order the biggest platter and just wait for the disappointment

Sorry to say I went to the Hoxton…

Sorry to say I went to the Hoxton restaurant on Sunday 6/7/25.
I went with my wife and grandson and was looking forward to nice food as a family. Sorry to speak negatively but the food was the worse food I’ve eaten for many years . I ordered a New Yorker platter for me and my wife which was 0 out off 10 , the beef was dry , the wings where very average, the burgers that we ordered where greasy and the bacon in mine was under cooked , my wife’s Philly cheesesteak was the worst beef and tasting thing I’ve ever had. The whole dinner was rubbish, and the whole meal came to £130 and trust me it wasn’t worth a £10er ?? On the plus side the staff were polite and done their best, they never bought the products for the food. In the past Ive eaten at red dog and it was blinding but this is the worst gaff I’ve ever eaten in my life…..

Never Again, Red Dog Nottingham,

The only reason I have given 1 star is for the waitress who was apologetic and accommodating. The food was not nice at all,mthe fries were too salty, the coleslaw tasted off and vinegarry. I must say they did change my meal and not chage me directly for it HOWEVER they put £19 service charge on the bill so charged indirectly. All in all not a good experience. Would not recommend!

We visited the Soho branch for my partners birthday. The place smaller than we thought which is ok. Played good country music and the atmosphere was pleasant.
We ordered starters of mozzarella sticks which arrived 5 mins after ordering, they were nice.
We ordered the USS platter for the brisket as thats what we had been looking forward to most. However, the whole platter was mediocre at best. We had 4 pieces of brisket, chicken wings, smoked sausages and some other bits but it all tasted the same, it was barely hot and overall seemed like it had just been zapped in the microwave. We had a side of mac cheese, mash (lumpy) which again was barely warm just not particularly nice for mac cheese.
It was £113 in total including a 12.5% service charge which was very expensive for something that was hugely disappointing! Wouldn’t really recommend and would advise not to waste your money.

Disappointing at Southampton

Spent over £100 today on a very disappointing meal for 3. The burger was as expected and the fries (ordered in addition) were ok, but the other 2 dishes were very poor quality meat, fatty brisket and ribs with processed sausage and what is advertised as 'wafer thin aged ribeye' in a 'Hoagie' came out as overly salted pulled mush covered in yellow goo in a hotdog roll with no provolone cheese as advertised. All very poorly presented. Seriously not impressed.

We complained to staff who blamed a change of meat provider but said no more. I wrapped most of the meat up to bring home for the dog as I didn't want to waste it at that price.

We will not be returning!

Red dog Soho GB

have been waiting with excitement for 1 year. we are in london once a year and couldn't get a table last year... were by no means disappointed!! I don't think I've ever had better food! incredibly sweet and friendly staff and a completely fantastic experience.. would like to give one more star!! Many thanks from the Danish Vikings

I am absolutely disgusted that they can…

I am absolutely disgusted that they can serve a £8 bottle of prosecco for £70. I questioned this and the barman said 'oh sorry' I should of told you before I opened it so tough I cannot refund you'. I would like the manager of this restaurant to contact me and give a gesture of goodwill due to the barman making the error that we had to pay for. The evidence will be on camera. If this happens I am more than happy to change my review. There will also be more reviews added from the 4 other friend who were with me.

Food has always been lovely and the service is great. Been a few times and always enjoyed it. Rosie was really great on our most recent visit :)

Don't want customers

It appears that this company is making far too much money and doesn't want any customers. I have emailed twice, phoned twice to make a group booking. Was told that someone would call me/email me back. Been waiting 4 x days now. Given up. Will go elsewhere. I wonder how the owners/investors would feel about this.

Poor Experience 👎

We went to the Soho Branch for my Birthday on 20/12/23 and ordered a kentucky platter which came with two burgers.The Platter was Good however the Burgers were minced lamb.These were supposed to be beef as on the Menu but they were 10000% Lamb.Lamb has a very distinctive taste to Beef.I have eaten burgers at Honest Burger and Five Guys etc and none tasted like these.
I contacted the Soho Branch and the Member of staff said I was mistaken and they were Beef! I should have sent them back when we got them but when we ordered we didn't realise the platter came with burgers and hurriedly ordered two from the menu whilst the waitress hovered over us.It was only when I got home and checked their online menu that I discovered that the Burger I had also didn't have any BBq sauce or mayonnaise. Our first time visiting and I was really looking forward to it but I cannot recommend this place.I called them up and had a running argument with a member of staff who insisted what I had was Beef! I think I have eaten enough beef and lamb in my life to notice the difference!
