1‑Star Review
1‑Star Review — Poseidon Marine FL Miami
I contacted Poseidon Marine FL Miami on June 9th to schedule service and was given an appointment for the next morning at 8:00 AM. The technician didn’t arrive until 8:50. During his evaluation, he said the boat needed a cable and a bilge pump and told me the office would send an estimate.
At 11:02 AM, Jose from the office called saying the cable would be $150 and asked for authorization to buy the part.
At 12:17 PM, he called again asking to purchase a bilge pump for an estimated $250–$300.
From 2:00 PM onward, I repeatedly requested a labor estimate — by email, voicemail, and text.
No one responded.
No estimate was ever provided.
At 5:16 PM, I left work to check on the situation and found the technician had already left. Then at 5:57 PM, a woman from the office called demanding $2,500 for repairs I never approved. She was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional — the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered in the marine industry.
When I explained that I had been asking for a labor estimate all day, she admitted her team failed to communicate but still insisted I owed the money. When I asked what would have happened if I didn’t want to approve the repairs, she said, “Well, boats are expensive.” She then threatened to remove the parts and place a lien on my boat if I didn’t pay.
To make matters worse, they attempted to charge my card $2,603.60 for an unapproved repair that was originally quoted at $2,537.62 — without my authorization.
This is completely unacceptable.
Customers have the right to:
Receive an estimate
Approve or decline service
Sign off before repairs begin
Poseidon Marine FL Miami ignored all of this. Their behavior was deceptive, disrespectful, and far outside industry standards.
This company is a disgrace to the boating community. Their practices are dishonest, rude, and unprofessional. I do NOT recommend their services. Call another company — protect yourself and your boat.
