Our elderly cat was getting increasingly fussy, leaving more and more of her food, even the expensive stuff. As a diabetic cat, this was making it harder to manage her blood sugars and insulin. We switched to Poppy's cat food, and never looked back! She eats every last bit, everyday! Its easy to know exactly how much we feed her each meal. Can't recommend it enough!

Purchased a box of 8 of poppys picnic raw mince. 1st box was delayed (not Poppy’s fault) They then sent out a 2nd box free of charge (great) . 2nd box of food arrived on time however there were no ice packs only polystyrene bits. So the food was cold but all defrosted and soft. Poppy’s confirmed that they send the food frozen and that it can become soft around the edges. However all packs were soft in the middle of the mince. They have since told me that it’s safe to refreeze. I wasn’t happy with this so I had asked if future deliveries could be packed with ice packs. Instead they’ve refunded me (great) & told me I can’t order from them again due to the issues. This is absolutely crazy business to me. If this was me I would have came back to the customer given a refund and resent the order with ice packs to ensure the safety of the food & ensure it remains frozen or even mostly frozen. It’s a real shame as I’ve since found out that a lot of people have switched from Poppy’s due to customer service issues. The raw food market is becoming increasingly competitive so it doesn’t surprise me people are switching. I really hope they can learn from this & support the customer instead of washing their hands of them. As for other customers please do your own research & don’t take this companies word for it when it comes to the safety & handling of raw food.

Edit - they’ve now contacted me on instagram stating - We’d like to clarify the reason we’re unable to send out any further orders.
Due to ongoing courier issues in your area, your deliveries have unfortunately been arriving late. As a result, the food has arrived defrosted or partially defrosted, which is not the standard we want for our customers or for our products.
In an effort to resolve this, we sent out two further FREE orders however, these additional orders were not mentioned in your post on AADF or a true reflection of your experience.
The decision not to continue supplying is not because we don’t value you as a customer. It is solely due to the ongoing courier issues, which have resulted in three orders arriving defrosted or partially defrosted. Unfortunately, under these circumstances, we are unable to guarantee the quality of the food on arrival.

We’re genuinely sorry that this has been your experience and wish you and Rosie all the very best moving forward.

To which I responded with- I’ve only received 2 orders from you? The 1st order was DPD delayed fault. The 2nd order was on time. It was yourself that didn’t pack it with ice packs. As you’ve already stated in a previous message you don’t add ice packs in the winter. Please re read all the messages that have been on here. As I think you might be confused with what you’ve communicated with myself. If you had sent out a 3rd delivery with ice packs then I will have been a regular customer as I’ve been with butternut box for almost 2 years. Then to add insult to the situation by telling me to purchase from another company that stock your food is absolutely insanity. If you packed your own food correctly then customers wouldn’t have fully defrosted food. Please understand that you trying to defend yourself is only making it worse. You’ve told me incorrect information.

I have an 8yr old Jackapoo who is an extremely fussy eater but at last l have found a food that he loves.

I stopped ordering from this company a long time ago, despite my 3 dogs loving the products. I recently came across the agent’s rude reply again - a reminder of why I left.

When I inquired about my parcel being delivered to another location, her response was dismissive and accusatory rather than helpful. Instead of assisting with the issue, she questioned why I hadn’t collected the parcel, even though I only received the delivery notification after the shop had closed. Rather than acknowledging the mistake or apologizing, she shifted the blame onto me.

Customer inquiries should be handled with professionalism and support, not blame. She clearly requires additional customer service training, or these matters should be handled by someone else. With this kind of service, the company will continue to lose customers.

I decided to start my pup on a raw diet after doing some research and discovering the many health benefits. He had some health goals he needed to reach, as he was a little underweight but needed to maintain muscle. We tried him on many different foods, such as 'grain-free', and they were never right, so we had decided to switch him to a raw diet. With Poppy's Picnic, he gets all his nutrients and he is now a healthy weight. The ingredients are quality and fresh, and every meal he finishes the whole lot. Delivery is fantastic, as it always arrives on time with next-day delivery. I really do recommend Poppy's Picnic

We have fed raw for over ten years, so we are not new to this.
Raw feeding is often seen as complicated, but Poppy’s Picnic makes it simple and stress free.
It works brilliantly if you are new and thinking of transitioning, or if you are a seasoned feeder like me.
The food is well packaged, not messy, and you do not need a second freezer.
Regular deliveries mean you can just top up as you go.
The meaty chunks are generous and the single source proteins are a real bonus.
I also love that it removes the worry about whether my dog is getting the right balance of vitamins, minerals, protein and fats.
Customer service has been excellent.
I would not hesitate to recommend Poppy’s Picnic

Brilliant cat food supplier - my Savannah cat loves the meatballs. She had stomach issues with dry food and after switching over to raw food these issues vanished.

I’ve been feeding Poppy’s Picnic to my dog since she was a puppy. It’s been six years and we have absolutely no complaints. Always on-time next day delivery, always arrived well-packaged, and the food quality stays on top!

I was using a well known brand of dog food and kibble from a very reputable high street pet shop for some time , the dogs were fatigued had gut issues (poos were awful) ETC they never rushed to eat the food either.so this is when I came across Poppys picnic . After looking into dog food it’s as important for them as us . Well it all went uphill from there the dogs absolutely love the food I have never known anything like it even eat out of the bowls now and lick them clean , finish every last bit no waste and left food for a few hours. If you don’t want to feed raw they have a cookable version which I use super quick in the microwave. It’s so nice to see how they are thriving and the enjoyment they show when eating their dinner it’s a real game changer.Also they are very highly rated on AADF website. Have given Poppy’s Picnic to my Beagle x Working Cocker since I got him as a puppy. He has the shiniest coat and has never had any tummy issues. It’s a fab service his food arrives like clockwork. I’ve not had a single issue in almost four years and most importantly my dog absolutely loves it (esp with the sprinkles on top!) and can’t wait to eat it. I honestly think it’s the best dog food you can get!!!

We had been loyal customers of this company for some time, so it’s with great disappointment that I’m having to write this review. In one of our regular orders over the Spring earlier this year, the dog food inside the packaging arrived fully defrosted. Poppy’s had not included any ice packs in the box so we assumed it was an oversight during the heat wave and I took a video of the defrosted food and sent it to the company and politely asked for a refund for the packets we’d have to donate or discard. I explained that I was able to save two packs that were in the middle and therefore insulated. To my surprise, customer service advised me via email that I could still put it all in the freezer, arguing that this was fine given that two packs were still frozen. When I explained the defrosted batches had gone straight in the fridge as I wasn’t comfortable refreezing meat that has defrosted at room temperature, the customer services representative wrote in her reply “what a shame you have wasted the food”! Naturally, we were concerned that a frozen raw food company was giving such advice, so we were hesitant about ordering again, but we decided to order one more box during cooler weather and see how that went… however, when I got in touch a few days later to make the order, I couldn’t get it to work online. I got in touch and they told me that they had “deactivated” my account and that I would not be able to make future orders because they are “a small company” and “can’t take the risk that any more of your orders arrived defrosted”. Absolutely unbelievable!

Looking at the negative reviews of the company on trustpilot, it seems this has happened to other people, and I see the company received a warning from Wiltshire council on ensuring they give the correct advice on not re-freezing thawed food to customers. Given that they have not heeded this advice, we can only conclude that they don’t care about companion animals but only about their profits.

The experience left us feeling quite shaken, since the way we were treated combined with the advice they give customers on food hygiene left us questioning the times our dog had been unwell whilst eating this food. Does it actually contain what it says it does on the packet etc? We realised we couldn’t be sure on anything. Horrible experience and we are so relieved to have now found a dog food company that actually seems to care about dogs.

Fantastic product and service! Ordered on Amazon and came the next day in a beautifully branded box. My puppy gobbled it up and looked at me with big 'more please' eyes! She absolutely loves it and she's a fussy eater. The cats also wanted to get in on the Poppy's action, so will probably be converting them to Tabby's Table soon :)

We’ve been using Poppy’s Picnic dog food for our black lab, Charlie, and couldn’t be happier. His coat has never been so shiny, and even the food smells really nice. The containers don’t leak in the fridge, which is a big plus, and the service has been friendly and reliable. Highly recommend!

Check the ingredients carefully if your dogs are sensitive to certain proteins. And be prepared for a lecture on dog nutrition and FEDIAF compliance if you so dare as question why lamb mince contains beef offal…

My 8 month old puppy was originally on a raw food diet but suddenly decided he didn’t want it anymore. I spent a lot of time and money trying different foods, but nothing seemed to interest him, until I came across Poppy’s Picnic.
What I love is that they offer raw food with the option to cook it by simply removing the bones — and that was a complete game-changer for us. Finally, my pup is excited about mealtime again! He absolutely loves the food, and I can finally stop the endless search for something he’ll eat.
To top it all off, their customer service is outstanding. There was a delivery issue (caused by a strike at their usual courier, so they had to use a different company), and my order didn’t arrive on time. I wasn’t sure if the food would still be safe to use, so I reached out to Poppy’s Picnic. Without hesitation, they sent out a full replacement — free of charge — which arrived the very next day.
That kind of service is rare these days. It’s clear that they genuinely care about their customers and their pets. I can’t recommend Poppy’s Picnic enough — not just for their fantastic products, but for their truly top-notch service as well.

My dog Marley loves Poppy's Picnic raw food. He has had this food for several years. They were reccomended to me by my 2 sisters. Marley is nearly 15yrs old and is still very active. I would definitely recommend them.

Absolutely terrible company to deal with. Deborah has no idea of customer service and has a real attitude problem when issues arise. Will never admit any wrong doing
Deliveries don't arrive on time or courier forgot to collect parcel. If and when food arrives it's no longer frozen.
Waited days for my last order, when I emailed I was told it was not in stock and she had tried to message me. I had no emails.
Extremely overpriced for what you actually get.

Poppy's is BY FAR the best dog food we've tried in the 20+ years I've had and trained border collies.

My latest boy is 2 years old, and for the first year we went through around 6 different brands - the brands that scored highest on AADF - and every month or so he'd get bored and refuse to eat the food.

That was until we found Poppy's Picnic. He was SO excited to eat it the first time we served him. And he's still just as excited today.

We gave our other dog, who was on Wolfworthy, Poppy's while we were on holiday for a long weekend as it was easier to take just one food. When we put here Wolfworthy down after getting home she looked so disappointed, and ate it so slowly. So we switched her to Poppy's too.

I know it's expensive, but my dogs mean the world to me, and they only have such a short time with us, I feel they deserve the best food we can give them.

The other thing I've noticed is that pretty much all other fresh brands try to make the food look tasty to humans - cutting up bits of carrot, sweet potato, etc to make it look appetising to us. Poppy's don't do that, I can imagine poppy's looks like the most amazing food to a dog. It's mainly minced meat, and looks like the quality is getting from a very decent butchers.

Fast delivery and great value. I don't want to feed bones but I do want my little monsters to have a little in their diet as I believe it's good for them, so I'm loving this. I used to make my own dog food, but this is no dearer for better quality and a better mixture. Fabulous. I portioned out the food while semi-defrosted and re-froze it so it's really convenient. My two absolutely love every flavour and clean up every scrap.
Oh, and great customer service and communication.

I'm so impressed with Poppy's Picnics customer service. If I have a problem, they are on it immediately. Im pleased to say I rarely have a problem but it's reassuring to know that they are always reachable, to give help and advice.
