I got an appraisal on my items, absolutely JUNK , costume jewellery at best , kids kit at worst. Don't buy , scam people.

in my opinion this site is a complete fraud. they act like there police auctions but they are the farthest thing from it. none of there stuff has ever been confiscated its just there worthless jewelery they cant sell. they show you pictures of real items then ship you costume jewelery. if you ask for a refund they tell you give it 30 days for the package to show up then return it we will refund you when we get it back and inspect it. they have nothing to do with the police. scam scam scam. spread the word they straight up just there to rip you off.

I joined Police auctions as I was completely fed up paying full price for items that looked second hand, so I joined Police auctions and have learned so much about auctions over the past 3 years.
There are various auctioneers under the umbrella of “Police auctions” such as ibidder, but please be aware, ibidder are not responsible if the community within sell you fake or counterfeit products.
I know it’s boring but PLEASE READ the T’s & C’s before making bids, read about the postage rules too as most auctioneers use one company for postage & you do not get a choice on how much it will cost to post an item. Some companies have standard postage costs, take supreme auctions, they generally charge £48.00 for 2 or 20 items being sent. Then you pay you hammer tax and vat on top the cost of the item.
There are a lot of companies within ibidder to avoid as they just do NOT send lots that have been paid for, take LISNASKEA auctions Ireland, I won 24 items in a bid paid for the lots and paid postage to then find when the item was sent two items were missing, I’m still waiting a refund of £14.00 (I know it’s not a lot of money that is not the point) this was December 23! Thankfully as they are under the umbrella of ibidder I can bump up my complaint via the link service on ibidder. I’m not holding my breath for the money, il just never use them again. Auctioning is a huge hassle and learning curve so be prepared and stay strong with your limits on lots, it’s easy to get carried away.

One star iss even too much on here. Have my doubts. Seen my buys on EBAY. Buy one and another crops up.?

I spent thousands of dollars for a total of 32 items rings bracelets and necklaces. Most of the items are gold plated silver. 6 necklaces broke after 1 week of ... 5 bracelets broke after 1 week of wear.. all of my rings that I’m wearing made my fingers turns black that supposed to be a gold plated silver or platinum plated silver. I got scammed by policeauction.com. I spent around $3,000 for all the jewelries that I bought at police auction.com. Warning !!! don’t bid at policeauction.com because these company is a scam..

The jewelry I received is lovely, but it is not the Tanzanite it was purported to be. The valuation and guarantee that was to accompany the jewelry did not. On top of the purchase price were charges for shipping and Customs charges, not mentioned previously. I am also relatively certain (as I lost the bid) that the "winner" who forfeited the item, was a name only, used to drive up the price.
Caveat emptor. Quote the raven--"nevermore".

Thank you from the people who posted on here, I was thinking that I would offer jewelry to my beloved, love blinded me to is not unearth a scam in the open. I was scammed out of $1600 Canadian for 15 items.I believe in divine justice, I know that behind this site there is a human being who believes intelligent scam but the truth no ill-gotten money remains in your possession because it left your hand a leaf that caught fire.

BEWARE of this site! I I doubt if they are actually affiliated with the police. This is an American site which will charge you a lot for mailing if you are not in the USA. I had a particularly bad experience with the billing and customer service. Suffice to say that I will never purchase anything from this so called "police auctions" site. Save yourself the grief. I guarantee you you will not have a good experience.

Bidding process a farce I left bid till las 30 secs opposition bidder was immediately $1 above my bid of $231USD they wouldn't have had time to bid from $201 USD to $231USD. Same bidder was coming in $1 over top of others. I had not lodged a bid until late this aftern0on with 10 mins left. Bidders Beware Severely doubt the whole process

In 2015 I bought a few items and so far everything is not worth what they were claimed to be.. The main reason I'm writing this is because I'm in need of funds and went to sell a gold bar that was claimed to be pure gold and I found out it's fake.. they shouldn't be able to lie about the items and make claims about junk....

I would give them minus 1 if that were possible.I never received the item and they never responded to my messages.
Fortunately I paid on PayPal so was refunded by them. It’s a scam …. Be warned

I've read the reviews on here and had to pick my jaw up from the floor. So here is an accurate review after buying 20 different pieces of jewellery.
Every item I've bought was well worth the money, although valuations are ludicrous, they're not selling items worth $3000 for $40. You have to read exactly what you're bidding for, some items are brass or stainless steel, it's obvious some people don't know this or they wouldn't be bidding silly amounts.
They're based in california, postage to the UK is $14.95 (not £16 as someone claimed), so that has to be factored in before you bid. Delivery has never taken longer than 3 weeks.
I never had an email from them, once you join the site, communications take place through your account on the site. After I have won a bid it has never been cancelled and a refund issued, there is no reason for that to happen. If you win the bid and pay for the item, it's yours.
All 20 items I've bought are beautiful and I'm super happy with them, people compliment them constantly.
I left the site for 2 reasons...the first is since just before Christmas 2022 the amounts people were bidding skyrocketed, although you can still get bargains during the day. I feel very lucky to have bought all my items at the prices I did. The second reason is... I bought a beautiful diamond ring that was lost by EVRI and the site refused to replace it, despite them still auctioning the same ring every 4 days, and I had to accept a refund. I was not going to bid for the ring again as it was now selling at least 4x the price that I won it for. So I left the site and spent the refund, and a lot more in TJC sale.
The items are not fake on this site, you only have to read the item description, if an item is plated brass, stainless Steel or a simulated gemstone it will tell you that. The gemstones are real, they're the ctw they say they are. I took the first couple i bought to my local jeweller.
I would give the jewellery I've bought 5 stars but I'm unhappy they wouldn't replace the lost ring, so 3 stars from me.

Absolute con artists, stay well clear, nothing is as described so dont waste your money.

I bid on what was described as a grade A Ruby. Upon receipt the item came without any certificate. It was also damaged and was far from grade A. This site is not legitimate in my opinion. Much false advertising. Stay Clear

Cheap and nasty jewelry. High price for rubbish. Don’t waste your time. Maybe suitable for young girls or teenagers.

It's actually a very accurate site re details of what you're bidding / buying on. You must read,re-read and learn a bit re clarity of diamonds/ value of gemstones. I am %110 satisfied. For those that are crying foul/ fake tells me they no zero about buying jewelry of any caliper. Perhaps they need to stick with market place where they can execute their gemologist studies more accurately

This site is not what it says it is, well not in the jewelry department. I bought two sets of earrings, and they were supposed to be of great value. Well they were not, I bet they were 5 bucks a pair. People be aware of the earrings pay close attention.

To return I have to pay £16 shipping. they are demanding insurance , proof of posting, tracking and signature required

AN ABSOLUTE SCAM

I bid on an item. I got an email saying that I was the winning bidder. I then got another email saying that the item was dispatched. Less than a minute later I got another saying I was getting a refund. I tried to make contact but got another email saying that the address was no longer in use. Be careful people if it looks like a duck walks like a duck. I got another email tonight saying that they don't deliver to Ireland. So why do they advertise that they do?

So I got caught up with the whole “bidding” aspect of this website and bought 5 items.

Then I read reviews on here and got so paranoid however I received all items and I’m actually really happy with them.

I think the downside is that on the website, it provides an estimated value of each item which I don’t believe is accurate. I read the description of what I was buying and realised that the quality - meaning the clarity etc of the diamonds aren’t the best and if i was to take these to a jeweller that the real estimate would be low but I don’t care.

I was planning on buying these to resell and make some extra money for Xmas but I love them all so much I’ve decided to keep them all!

There’s a lot of bad reviews on here and I understand why however my suggestion would be to really read the description before bidding and googling what it means e.g clarity of diamonds etc then there wouldn’t be so much disappointment.

Anyway, I’m happy with the items I’ve received regardless of the fact they aren’t worth as much as what the website suggests.
