Subsequently, I discovered Adam’s YouTube channel and found the content to be both insightful and refreshingly direct, offering clear explanations without unnecessary complexity. This interest naturally progressed to enrolling in Adam and Bang’s Options Trading course in August 2024. The course provides a comprehensive foundation in options trading, covering essential tools such as trading platform setup, trade management, and tracking methodologies, alongside a range of practical trading strategies.

The first six months of options trading were challenging, with many strategies to evaluate and lessons learned through time, losses, and reflection. Honestly, Piranha Profits is the only resource you need to learn all things about investing, trading and options. The course structure is very well organized, with updates along the way. The hidden gem of all this is the discord community where members collectively share their wealth of knowledge and cheer each other on especially during challenging times. I have tried many places which claim to teach "investment" but none done it as well as PP. UIP is super worth it, with the UIP community, monthly market analysis, deep dive and Adam's portfolio reviews. The added bonus is the research articles and in depth research earning reports. If you follow all the content and strictly practice and be disciplined about it is very possible to make back the course fee.

So many years pass year the stocks keep on dropping never come back (The only winner in the game is the guru every year get subscription fees)

One thing the ideal shared in course not likely copy by many students just the it is this:
every year invest certain amount;it is only possible when started with very small amount ex one people with net worth of 1 million,yearly income 250k per year commit 100k to it,then every year consistently invest 100k,( this is possible done by the guru because everyyear got so many subscribe to his service)he got the free cash to invest consistently.If the student initially invest maybe 300k to 400k based on his net worth 1 million this is risk already because the second year based on his income he cannot fork out another 300k to 400k to buy somehow many stock call is never ever moving or worst drop by half

The guru keep on said he is using Warrent Buffet way to invest ,and how success he is ;let;s take clear look:
-He is never showing his past 30 years investment records (he claim he invest for 30 years)-he used to show his account start from 2020
-Warren Buffet never so hungry to sell course for few hundred dollar
-Will a Singapore rich man so hungry for few hundred dollar ?
(In my mind most of the rich one do more sharing instead hungry upselling every courses)

I am providing this review to offer a transparent look at my experience with the Options Tactics Playbook (OTP) subscription (Nov 2023 – Jan 2025) by Bang Pham Van. Prospective investors should be aware of the significant gap between their marketing and reality:

Misleading Marketing: Sales webinars highlight massive gains across many accounts. However, as a subscriber, you only receive alerts for one account. There is zero transparency regarding the other accounts used to lure people in.

Significant Underperformance: After following the trade alerts and auditing their portfolio tracker against the S&P 500 (SPY), the results are shocking:

2021: SPY +28.7% | OTP +1.9%

2022: SPY -18.2% | OTP -56.8%

2023: SPY +26.2% | OTP +14.5%

2024: SPY +24.9% | OTP +0.1%

Unethical Data Practices: I raised these performance concerns in April 2024. Instead of addressing the issues, the team deleted the transaction records for 2021–2022 from the portfolio tracker. I have retained screenshots of these records prior to their removal.

Scrubbing historical data to obscure poor performance is unethical and unprofessional. Integrity is everything in trading; if a service hides its losses and deletes its history, it doesn't deserve your capital.

The courses and gurus are quite useful and prove to be effective. I always learned something new from them, and I developed my own strategy. Sometimes a guru can be mistaken, but I always conduct my own research and develop a strategy that suits me.

Adam Khoo is an amazing instructor. He is clearly very passionate about his work (teaching and mentoring). This statement is true for the entire PP and team. Good quality people. Do not be afraid to join because you found Adam on social media. I found him on YouTube. I have been nothing but pleased with Adam and his team. They are also very active on Discord and answer questions quickly. His Discord community is very supportive. I was pleasantly surprised by how helpful the members were as I was a complete newbie with many questions.

Finally, I recently sent a Christmas message to Adam thanking him for saving my (financial) life. I’m a 55 year old physician, and I/we received no financial education. I knew nothing about the stock market. In the year since I joined PP, I beat the S&P 500 index performance and the majority of fund managers by a big margin.

I have been Piranha Profits student since 2019 and my capital gain since June 2019 until January 2026 has been raised to 131%. By just simply following Adam Khoo's investment rules such as only invest on top 1% best company in the world when undervalue, ignore all news and predictions, and hold tight through up and down of the market and Invest in yourself first are key instruments to my investment result. The good thing being in the Piranha Profits community is mental support, especially during market draw down. Emotional support from Adam's and Piranha Profits team has contributed to my resilience to not taking emotional action especially during bear market.

Adam is a great teacher and mentor. He can distill and simplify a complex problem so that it’s easy to understand.

This is a review of Piranha Profits: Alson Chew’s Price Action Manipulation (PAM) course and his PAM Trader Playbook (PTP). This review is based on my own experience, as well as private conversations with disappointed ex-students.

What Alson Teaches

Alson’s trading strategy is based on anticipating market moves and entering trades before traditional indicators suggest doing so. He looks at candle patterns on 2D, weekly, or monthly charts, with entry triggers based on the size and shape of candles. Some sub-strategies are fairly obscure—for example, setups that depend on the relationship between small and large bars over a sequence of five candles.

These methods may have worked for him, but for most retail traders, the execution, and discipline required are difficult to replicate.

The Offerings

Alson sells:
1. PAM Course – the standard training.
2. XSPY – essentially PAM plus some monthly Zoom calls.
3. PTP Playbook – a subscription that shows when he enters trades (marketed as educational, but in practice functions like an alert service).

Win Rate
Based on my experience and PP Discord sources:
Win rate is typically 30–42% (this is the PTP portfolio performance).
Yes, you read that right. That means 6–7 trades out of 10 are losing trades. The PP website states 60% winning chance. Are they lying? I hope not, but it is vastly different from what my peers and I experienced. I did notice, though, that Alson has a good and strict money management approach using ATR indicators.

Drawdowns and Captial with PTP
This is where my biggest criticism lies: Students are not really told about the steep portfolio drawdowns this strategy can entail.

Unexperienced retail traders (who else would take this course?) don’t typically have the stomach to deal with 20-30% drawdowns while hoping that a few winners will bail them out. I have chatted with people who lost 10 consecutive PTP trades, for example.

Many setups run on weekly or even monthly candles, which means capital is stuck in trades for months as well. For people with a small account it is not feasible and it is not how the PTP is marketed; this may have changed by now.

PTP Performance:
PTP has existed for 2+ years. As of Q3 2025 it has delivered around +20% total profit for 2025. If I am not mistaken, the first year yielded less than 6%.

Disappointing:
Alson started his PTP service with a 50K account in late 2023 I believe, which quickly dropped 20 to 25%. At that point, he injected another 50K, which conveniently reduced the appearance of the drawdown. This could have eased future marketing of the service as it painted a rosier picture of results than students with smaller accounts could realistically expect.

From what I can observe, Alson’s strategy struggles badly during market corrections and relies heavily on rare “pop events” (e.g. Chinese stimulus news, or the Trump-election crypto spike). Without such events, the system is way too complicated to justify the returns in my humble opinion.

Teaching Quality

Alson seems like a nice guy. His teaching, however, is poor compared with others in this industry. His explanation of his own strategies is not easy to follow. His English is extremely difficult to understand if you are not Singaporean (coming from a native speaker).

The slide design is very weak (worse than most basic Udemy courses). This is sadly symptomatic for all PP courses across the board. They could use an in-house designer.

He annotates charts during courses and live streams, but since he uses a mouse instead of a pen tablet, his notes are often illegible.

Community

I passively observed the Discord group, and one thing stood out: Negative experiences with PAM/PTP are frequently met harshly and even with hostility from loyal community members. Some of those defending it, appear to be trading with very large portfolios (hundreds of thousands), which puts them in a completely different league than most retail students.

Final Thoughts

To be clear: I don’t believe PAM/PTP is an outright scam.

However, I do believe it is sold in a misleading way—especially the PTP service.
If you’re a regular retail trader looking for consistency, or if you don’t have the emotional resilience to handle continuous drawdowns, this is probably not the course or playbook for you and I would highly advise against it. Many other common trading strategies on the internet work at least as well as PAM. More importantly, you do not get any "edge" through it.

This leaves me with no other choice than to give it 1 out of 5 star. One major reason: Adam Khoo excellent educational courses and reputation made me decide to go with Alsons (no way I would have done that otherwise). I don't understand how Adam can ruin his reputation which such sub-standard strategies and course material.

I have been a student of Piranha Profits for 4 years and I learnt investing, options and trading. Without a doubt I can say that Masters Adam, Bang and Alson are the best providers of education in this space. I have consistently beat the market many folds despite a bear market and many market corrections. I was able to earn back all the course fees within a few months and compound the returns over the last 4 years. All masters have an amazing ability to train students who have no prior experience and knowledge. I gladly recommend Piranha Profits to all who wish to gain financial independence well before retirement.
