Mounjaro delivered unacceptable conditions

I paid almost £300 for a temperature-sensitive prescription medication (Mounjaro), and the delivery process left me with serious concerns.

The parcel was marked as dispatched at 18:43 on 9 February and delivered at 15:14 on 11 February. The company relies on a “validated 48-hour packaging window” to claim the medicine remained within the required temperature range.

However, this creates a questionable situation: if the parcel had arrived just a couple of hours later, they would have accepted that the delivery was outside their validated window. Yet because it arrived slightly earlier, they simply assume everything must have remained within the required temperature range.

Customers also do not know the exact time the medication was actually packed into the insulated box. We only know when the parcel was entered into the system. This means the medication itself may have been in transit for longer than the recorded dispatch time suggests.

There was also no temperature monitoring device included in the parcel. When I opened the package, the cold packs were completely melted and everything inside was at room temperature. Without any temperature tracking, there is no way to verify that the medication actually remained within the required 2–8°C range during transit.

For almost £300 refrigerated prescription medicine, this level of uncertainty is simply unacceptable. Patients should not be left wondering whether the medication they inject into their body has been transported under the correct conditions.

Despite raising these concerns, the response I received was essentially that this is “standard practice” among online pharmacies and that customers who want greater reassurance should obtain the medication from a physical pharmacy.

For a company supplying high-value refrigerated prescription medicines, this response is completely unacceptable. I strongly do not recommend this supplier, particularly for Mounjaro users.

We know that refrigerated medicines like Mounjaro are valuable and important, so it’s natural to want reassurance about their delivery. That’s why we use pharmaceutical-grade insulated packaging, which has been tested to keep the right temperature during delivery.

The dispatch time on your order shows when we hand your parcel to Royal Mail, not just when we print the shipping label. Our packaging has been tested to keep medicines at the right temperature during transit, and this method is commonly used by UK online pharmacies for refrigerated medicines.

At the moment, online pharmacies don’t usually monitor the temperature of each parcel. Instead, we use tested packaging and set delivery times to ensure medicines remain safe during transit. This approach is standard across the industry and meets regulatory requirements.

To help ensure safe delivery, we provide full tracking and use delivery services with tracking apps. This way, you can follow your parcel and help make sure it arrives the first time.

We understand that some patients feel more comfortable picking up refrigerated medicines directly from a pharmacy, where they can receive them right away. If courier delivery doesn’t give you enough peace of mind, collecting your medication in person might be a better choice.

Patient safety is very important to us. Our Superintendent Pharmacist has reviewed your order and confirmed that our packaging and delivery process meet the right standards for sending refrigerated medicines remotely.

Unknown change

Ive been using pilltime for sometime now, and never had an issue, this time my medication arrived in boxes, and not pouched which I've always requested, wondering why the sudden change??

Excellent!

I needed to order a 15mg Mounjaro KwikPen. I was initially sceptical of PillTime having read mixed TrustPilot reviews and seen their 3.6/5.0 rating but they were offering an introductory £75 off. I placed the order on Monday 23 February and I received the product on Tuesday 3 March. I have used Chemist 4 U and Oxford Online in the past, and found PillTime to be outstanding, if a little slow. Prompt and efficient emails back and forth, timely notifications, and expedited Royal Mail 24 hour shipping. The product arrived well-packaged in a large box with refrigerated packs, and an ample supply of swabs and needs, as well as a sharps disposal box. The expiry date of the KwikPen was 04/2027 which is ample. No complaints and i will use PillTime again.

Avoid at all costs - dangerously poor service

Dangerously poor service, avoid at all costs.
Pills never pouched, and never arrive on time despite the requested notice given. Every month they arrive after the prescription runs out, and keep being fobbed off with excuses about prescription start dates, new systems etc. Nothing changes despite multiple complaints lodged. Impossible to get hold of, their phone lines are only open 9-12:30 week days. They're clearly overwhelmed and not able to provide the service they offer, which is frankly dangerous. This is not the late delivery of a book from Amazon we're talking about, this is life-saving medication that they are not able to deliver on time. Will be lodging a complaint with the General Pharmaceutical Council after months of appalling service.

You leave until the last minute to send out despite the fact I put order in, in plenty of time. Leaves my husband without medication.

Upon reviewing your account, we can see that previous prescriptions have been requested via multiple ordering platforms. When this happens, it creates separate orders on your account, which means medication may be split across different orders with different medication cycle start dates, rather than being processed together, causing delays.

We are working with our software providers to resolve this issue. In the meantime, we recommend using one platform to request your medication to ensure all items are processed together as a single order. We advise ordering 14 days before your start date to help avoid delays.

Unreliable

Ordered December prescription early as advised, it was overlooked and I had to have the codes, very anxious time with only a day to go.my next prescription was sent ok. The following prescription had the start date moved by 10 days, I had to have the codes sent again and collected them from a local chemist, I had only a day or so to go, so very anxious. I had my latest prescription authorised well in time. I called pill time as it hadn’t arrived, they said they were waiting for items that I hadn’t even requested. So my medication arrived on the day I had to take it. All very nerve racking. Pill time have only successfully fulfilled one out of my last four prescriptions. When it works it is marvellous, when it doesn’t it is very frustrating. I complained a month or so ago and was told that I was taking the pouches before the date marked on them ! I meticulously keep a record of my start dates as well as the dates I request my medication from my surgery.

Decided to switch due to price

Decided to switch due to price, easy application, took a couple of pictures and gave my info, was ordered Monday and delivered on Thursday so great turnaround time. Delivery was signed for and was delivered in a temp controlled box and was packed really well.

Lack of communication

Lack of communication. Asked several times to let me know if order is on it's way but I get no reply. So don't know if the prescription is on it's way or not. Limited phone times also makes it difficult. Looking at another supplier now
