Intentionally vague “pre-existing conditions” mean worthless cover.
Transferred my pet insurance to Petsy due to good reviews and apparent cover. After paying my first premium, they requested my dogs vet history, of which there has been no illness or injury. One noted detail of my Golden Retriever was ‘overweight’ as he was 35kg two years ago, and the vet wished for him to be 33kg, an arbitrary number. The Certificate of Insurance issued by Petsy however said not covered for “OVERWEIGHT OR ASSOCIATED CONDITIONS”, thereby meaning they can refuse cover for any illness or injury, stating he was noted as overweight two years ago and this may have contributed. It’s as vaguely worded as possible. Lucky I cancelled this policy as fast as I could!!! Read the fine print and look past the “it’s all good” writing style…

I cannot say enough about Petsy, my Wolfhound Phelan had a seizure and a very expensive procedure and they sorted everything per policy. The ladies who looked after us where amazing to deal with. Great customer care!!
Petsy have been absolutely a breath of fresh air in the pet insurance dept. Tried getting quotes from a few different places, Petsy were head and shoulders above the rest when it came to customer service. They took the time to go over what's included and how it all works. I really feel my little Harley is in safe hands should anything unforeseen (touch wood) comes up (she's currently only 9 weeks old).

Worst insurer who cons people using illogical reasons for pre existing issues with the Pet. Be weary of their T’s &C’s. They will do their best to avoid a pay out. RSPCA is way better and though expensive it’s worth it .
Choose wisely with pet insurance
I am writing this review because I got a very unexpected experience in purchasing pet insurance with petsy. I did a lot more research this time round as our first Pitt is stuck with the old insurer. A word a word of warning to those researching that once you choose if something happens and you need to make a claim your pretty much stuck with the company that you chose so choose wisely. The customer service is excellent and a product let's me customised to my knees I highly recommend you look at Patsy before making the decision that may last years
transparency with petsy stood out after weeks of deliberating who to go with
After first talking with them as I had a hard time comparing and weeks but what felt like months of research I decided to go with Petsy for my pet insurance. Hopefully my research can help you. My main issues were transparency as we had pet insurance before but got conned by the gotchas and fine print last time. So here goes: look for the fine print on what you can actually claim, look for sub limits (last time I got caught out with a cruciate ligament with was 4k per leg and only got 2k back from woolies because of sublimits. Never again with the supermarket) then excess is it per claim, per condition or per year, then look at offers. My sister got scammed by a "free two months" with RSPCA when they said it's not nothing to pay for two months but the discount divided by the year. Which means at least at 20% increase next year. So after spreadsheeting costs and cover we decided on petsy. The staff were very helpful first thanks Carissa then Jenny. An update to this review is that we did a pre existing assessment and now know what isn't covered but reviewed in 6 months. So like I said transparency is why we went with them but the customer service is just cream on top.
