Excellent service. Highly recommend.

I can't thank Ricky at Peppercorn Law enough for navigating what was a challenging freehold purchase within a very tight deadline and managing to keep all parties involved happy in the process. Peppercorn Law stood out for me due to their transparency and specialist knowledge. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Unable to contact - resolved thanks

Unable to contact or get reply when they sent out incorrect NCB details (sent before end of policy as such useless) as such my new insurer cant accept and they wont reissue or reply to requests.. absolutely shambolic.. im not sure they know the basics.. chased multiple times , complained etc and never even an acknowledgement.. (all queries to the same email account ehich is ignored)

update: emails sent by peppercorn but marked as spam for whatever reason.. (thank you )

Thanks Ken for your feedback. I can assure you that your requests are not being ignored but I can understand your frustration if you aren't receiving our replies. I can see that we have sent your certificate as requested 3 times this month, the most recent being yesterday in response to your latest email. Please check your spam and junk folder if you are not receiving these. In the meantime I have gone ahead and arranged for a copy of your certificate to be posted to your address on record.

Was fast process but dishonest on the service

Fast and great process to get car insurance and better options. They mentioned that an assistant helped me but that was a lie. Don't get a peppercorn insurance, they take your money and then when they ask to supply the NCB and you actually do that 3 times and still they reject it; they then cancel your insurance and take half of the money as an excuse of policy cancellation which was not done by you. The only way to communicate is via email, strangely enough so you have to wait for them to reply and I| do believe it to be a one man band.I will report them to the Ombudsman as I read through the reviews and they seem to make a habit of it.

We initially requested your No Claims Bonus Certificate via email, but did not receive a response. A follow-up cancellation notice was sent, clearly outlining that your policy would be cancelled if the required document was not provided.

Although we received two screenshots of your NCB Certificate, they were too blurry to verify. You were informed of this on 31/01/25, we did not reject them. Consequently, we requested a clear PDF version, but this was only submitted after the policy was already cancelled.

All customers agree to our cancellation terms at the time of purchase, which state that if a policy is cancelled due to missing documentation, standard fees will apply. These terms are clearly detailed in the policy documents to ensure full transparency.

Furthermore, we clearly communicate that our customer support is online-only, so customers are aware of how to contact us before proceeding with their policy.

You have the right to escalate your complaint if you choose to do so. We will fully cooperate with the Ombudsman's requests.

The person helping me on chat was good and helpful, I am just frustrated that my numberplate wouldn't recognise and there no easy easy way for somebody to contact

This was the cheapest on the market and…

This was the cheapest on the market and covered other areas of insurance like driving abroad. I was charged no extra and policy covered me for 30 days outside of the UK.

Ok so I have just seen a review on here…

Ok so I have just seen a review on here for this company where the reviewer was saying Peppercorn cannot insure them any more. Peppercorn replied saying that the email would explain why this decision has been made. I also received the same email from them and it's to do with inflation and other challenges. I have been driving for 35 years and have NEVER made an insurance claim. I've obviously paid tens of thousands for it though, of course, goes without saying. So maybe if you drive an older car or maybe if you are an older person; maybe they are making their decisions based on other factors such as these. I'm updating my 11 year old car very soon but even with my current car, I have had many good quotes from other insurers that beat them hands down. So good riddance Peppercorn, it's no loss.

As we explained in our email, this decision is not related to you personally, your driving history, or your claims record, and we can assure you it is certainly not due to your age.

To clarify, unexpected changes in our Underwriting Guidelines mean we are unable to renew certain policies. However, as we've informed you, this does not count as declined insurance, so it will not affect your future premiums.

To put this into perspective, it’s similar to entering your details on a price comparison website where not every insurer provides a quote. Each company has specific risks they can cover, but this doesn’t mean you are inherently riskier to insure than anyone else.

We hope this explanation provides reassurance.

Not sure why they have declined to re insure me

Had a good experience over the last year, then sent an email stating they would no longer insure me, no reason why just stated the underwriters could not cover me. A 42 year old with 10 years no claims, they also stated that costs will be higher elsewhere this year. However all my quotes this year are around £200 cheaper than I paid last time for Peppercorn. Odd way of doing things, I will just move on.

The worse insurance company i have ever insured with! You cqnnot ring them and when you message you get a computer, and when you finally speak to someone they where no help at all! Dint insure with these idiots unless you have the patience of a saint!

I had my concerns...

I had my concerns about using a fully online insurance company, but those were soon gone. It's very VERY easy to make simple changes to your policy, get quotes for new cars or add drivers - adding a driver actually made my premium GO DOWN... which I was very happy about. Haven't had a claim yet so will be interested to see how it's handled, given some of the bad reviews regarding this area of the business - however, making simply changes or completing tasks which you'd normally have to call, or email or wait to do.. is very easy with Peppercorn. First class :)

Avoid this company

Absolutely dreadful handling of our claim. On the day of the incident the car was removed to a storage facility. There were computer difficulties in verifying our policy and despite constant chasing by me 8 days have elapsed and nothing significant has occurred. We are stranded without a car. Avoid this company.

easy to use online chat

I had a few questions about my insurance policy when it was coming up to renewal and the online chat service answered all my questions and in detail. It was extremely easy to use.
