We love this chiminea. It looks great and is exactly what we needed for some heat now its getting cooler. It was delivered quickly and works well, the chimney diverts the smoke up and away nicely.

Service was very efficient. Website is excellent and the sofa arrived in great time. It took a bit of time to assemble but the instructions were pretty clear.
Overall the sofa is comfortable and it looks good. Cushions look good but are a little on the flimsy side and it could do with being a little higher off the ground as we are both pretty tall. But this is my fault for not paying enough attention to the dimensions.

I have ordered a chiminea as a Xmas gift for my husband. It was delivered unboxed or wrapped, just it and the metal base frame. My husband followed the instructions to the letter, 3 small fires over a period of days, then a larger one the last time the chiminea was actually used. We store it inside a garden shed, when not in use, it has not been left outside in frosty weather.
When my husband picked it up the other day, the base literally fell away from the chimney neck into several pieces. It wasn’t just a crack but a complete collapse. We contacted Patio Eden and Gardeco to be told that clay chimineas are not advisable for the cold weather in UK and we should have bought a cast one. We are not very happy about the situation as no compensation was issued neither a correct advice given before the purchase.

I was surprised that you felt it necessary to leave this review considering the comprehensive support and advice you received regarding your cracked chimenea from both Patio Eden and Gardeco, the manufacturer.
While all of these concerns were already addressed by us in recent correspondence, I have covered them again here in case you missed anything.
You Said:

Our Response:
As you know, your chimenea was delivered by the manufacturer’s specialist 2-person delivery service. They remove all delivery protection by hand when it reaches the end user.
You were advised of this delivery method on the product page when you purchased on November 20th, by email after your purchase and in recent correspondence from us.
You Said:
“… to be told that clay chimineas are not advisable for the cold weather in UK…and we should have bought a cast one.”
Our Response:
According to the manufacturer’s report, received by you on March 15th, your chimenea cracked due to thermic heat shock caused by prolonged over-firing.
The reason for the failure is best summed up by this quote from the manufacturer’s report;
Manufacturer's Report:
“By the discolouration of the chimenea (yellow colour is now red), and the blackening inside…this chimenea has evidently had some very large and prolonged fires. With intense heat come the potential issues of thermic shock. This is when one part of the chimenea, like the funnel, becomes extremely hot, causing stresses in the material and cracks.”
Traditional chimeneas are fantastic outdoor heaters for the UK, but require an element of care in their use. This was made clear to you in the detailed manufacturer’s instructions supplied with your chimenea and on the product page at the time of your purchase.
For care-free burning of any type of fuel and of any size or intensity of fire, Gardeco and Patio Eden do recommend cast iron or Chimalin AFC chimeneas. Traditional chimeneas simply cannot withstand that kind of punishment.
You Said:

Our Response:
We would of course consider a refund or replacement if there was a manufacturing defect.
However, your chimenea shows all the hallmarks of being subjected to prolonged misuse during the 15 weeks prior to you contacting us. Because of this, no compensation was due.
As made clear to you in the manufacturer’s detailed instructions and on the product page when making your purchase, traditional chimeneas require a degree of care in their use.
The manufacturer has evidently concluded that unfortunately this advice was not followed.
