Disgusting bowl of mess
Just tried vegitable biriani. Absolutely terrible. Just a bowl of mess. Only fit for the rubbish bin. Don’t ever buy it. I feel sick!!
Pataks Tikka Masala sauce yukky taste!
I contacted AB World Foods Customer Service several weeks ago in regards to Pataks Tikka Masala sauce. (We have always chosen Patak sauces)
My family has eaten two of these sauces recently, and both have had a very distinct 'plastic' taste, which I felt was concerning.
I have never received a reply nor acknowledgement to my email. I wonder how many other consumers had the same experience?
I have now chosen to purchase a different Tikka Masala sauce from a different manufacturer. A much better, authentic flavour with no 'plastic' taste!
Disgusting Pataks Tikka Masala
I used to swear by Pataks Tikka Masala sauce in a jar. The taste has changed and it is absolutely disgusting. It smells like vomit and tastes like a tramps vest. I will never buy anything Pataks ever again.
Korma dreadful
Have been buying the Korma cooking sauce for years. Opened a new one last night, added chicken etc and it was soo spicy, not at all enjoyable for us. When I looked closer you can see all the chilli/black pepper in it which has never been there before. I understand people like spicy but then you don’t go for a korma.
Madras curry sauce
We used to love the cans of Pataks madras curry sauce. These were stopped and replaced by jars which taste completely different and are very disappointing
I used to love the pataks jalfraizi …
I used to love the jalfraizi curry paste I used it for years my go to cheat, I don't know what's happened to the recipe all it is fit for now is the bin no depth and has a cheap vinegar flavour to it. I have waisted a lot of money on making the most disgusting curry I have ever made. Why did you change a recipe that was amazing was it just to save a bit of money, I'll use Aldi from now on far superior
Where's the coconut?
That is the question!
As a purveyor of Indian food for forty years it's my understanding that Peshwari naan is supposed to contain coconut. It definitely said "Peshwari" on the packet - I checked - but there wasn't a whiff of coconut in the product. What a disappointment. The first time, and the last, unfortunately.
I used to love this paste especially…
I used to love this paste especially the canned version that would make a wonderful BIR type curry. I don't know what has happened to it but having tried it twice and found both times that it made a terrible meal I have decided never to buy the stuff again. It is a shame.
Paste recipes changed - now POOR!
I have used different Pataks curry pastes for around 12 years, and had countless people delighted with my ability to create very nice curries at home. Everything else is fresh - including coriander - the lot. Tonight I opened a Jalfrezi paste and noticed the consistency at the top was more fluffy and oily than normal, but thought nothing of it. 20 mins later after reduction I tasted the curry and noticed it seemed bland. A bit surprised I thought I’d add a bit more, so tipped the jar and spooned some more out - which was followed by a load of oily slop out of the jar. I smelled the jar and it smelled like linseed oil - with very little spice as I had been used to. In an attempt to rescue our meal I put the curry in a colander and rinsed entirely with hot water. Thinking it must be a random off jar I took out one of three remaining pataks Balti pastes and started to cook with that. I noticed too that the sauce was the same, oily, fluffy and spineless. I checked online to see if it is a thing - and YES, here it is - they’ve changed the recipe! Disappointed disaster. The other two jars are going in the bin, and now I’m off to find a decent alternative - perhaps others can contribute here on Pataks’ review channel to help others in the same predicament. I have always held the view that a product is ‘owned’ by the customer, and stewarded by the producing company. Pataks as well as other big brands/products such as Dairy Milk, Twix, Cadbury’s Cream Egg (come to mind) have had their recipes changed to great customer dissatisfaction and disappointment. BOOO!!!
Completely ruined my dinner
Completely ruined my dinner. I used to add a spoonful or two but also with my own spices and coconut. Did exactly the same only to find out the recepies have changed. My curry tasted like vinegar. It’s disgusting and the jars are now smaller. Do they think we are fools. Never again.
Madras Curry paste
I would normally never use any sort of curry paste (prefer to make my own) however, I thought I would give this a try - it was awful. Salty, acidic, bland, no depth of flavour, just a little bit of chilli heat. Disappointing, I won't be buying again.
Have used and enjoyed Patak's pastes…
Have used and enjoyed Patak's pastes for over 25 years but stopped some years ago now. Their Madras and Tikka pastes were just perfect in every way. ( true restaurant taste) Tried again yesterday, but they are just too sour and vinegar tasting. ( yes I did not over use the paste! ) Ok for someone who is not familiar with what the Old Patak's taste used to be, but for me switched to other brands a while back and I guess will be staying away too. Pity, used to be the best at one time.
The old Delhi style butter chicken…
The old Delhi style butter chicken smooth curry kit
Found it very poor flavours and not worth the money
There must be better sauces out there and better value
For money.
I just opened a jar of korma to find…
I just opened a jar of korma to find mold on the inside of the lid and also bits inside the middle. I nearly fed this to my family the expiry date isnt till 12/2025. Was kept in cupboard dry dark place. Disgusting and also wasted all my chicken breast and naan breads. Also have photos of it all. Food is so expensive and times are hard. Fuming 😡
Just Awful
Madras Curry Sauce in a jar. Awful. Just awful. Sweet and artificial, no heat. Threw the whole meal in the bin - never again!!
Big decline in quality of Pataks mixed…
Big decline in quality of Pataks mixed pickle.Too many carrots!
Jalfrezi Paste Disgusting
I used the Jalfrezi Paste which was absolutely disgusting. It was way too salty, it was all we could taste. We ended up chucking our dinner in the bin. Complete waste of money and ingredients. We didn't add any extra salt or seasoning and followed the instructions. Never again will I buy and use this brand.
I think pataks curry sauces are quite…
I think pataks curry sauces are quite horrible
I use sharwoods normally & couldn't get that brand so opted for pataks .
Never again! It ruined our meal the Taste of the sauce was so horrible.it all went in the bin!
I cook a lot of curry and Indian food
I cook a lot of curry and Indian food. Against my better judgement, I was persuaded to cook with a pataks sauce. I followed the instructions tone letter.mit was, truly, the most disgusting filth I have ever had to eat. We had no option but to flush the entire batch down the toilet and cook egg and chips.
It was sharp, salty, and had no proper depth of flavour.
please, NEVER use this filth to make a “curry”
No after sales help.
I have no problem with the use of Pataks sauces but DO have a problem with a food company that offers very little help on how best to use the stuff!
Such as,will the product be impaired by long cooking in a slow cooker to ensure tender beef and to offer a recommended cheap cut of beef that will give an authentic taste and tenderness.
