Incredible magazine
My son started reading OYLA when he was 9years old and now at 11 still enjoys reading every issue front to back. Even when you didn’t think you cared about the topic, OYLA finds a way to make it interesting and even the most challenging concepts become understandable. The info graphics are too notch. The writing is excellent. The breadth and depth is exceptional. We plan on subscribing for years to come.

They switched it up
This is honestly a great magazine! However, I found an issue in the February 2025 article. On page 45, there is a diagram showing what Caisson-type and Slope-type Islands are, except the labelling is wrong. They appear to be switched. But other than that, great magazine!

Hello, I recently gave a 2-star review because the checkout automatically adds auto renewal. since then, Oyla has contacted me and stopped the subscription and will refund any remaining monies. We are very happy with the magazine and just read the article about hidden artifacts in maps.

100% recommended for anyone who loves math & science
I love this magazine every time I read it I read the entire thing and then save it and read it 2 months later, it gives me something to do other than play video games. I love that there is new stuff every month and it will never feel like I’m reading the same thing, I also love how each section is different looking and engaging.

Great books, great information, great read.
The ONLY problem i have with you guys is that i was supposed to get a December 2024 issue, yet even after i asked for a resend, i have still not received my copy.
Everybody in my family loves to read this book, but not getting a full month of content was just terrible.

The December issue was sent out on 13th of November and must have gotten lost along the way. Great magazine for my 12 year old!
I gave this subscription to my 12 year old grandson last year. He is on the autistic spectrum and loves to read. He likes science. His mind is a sponge retaining almost everything he reads. He and his parents love this magazine.

Misleading Subscription Options & Access
I purchased a digital subscription after reviewing one of their complementary downloadable PDF versions, and reading that a digital subscription comes with complete access to PDF versions of their editions since 2020.
After purchase, I attempted to retrieve a PDF copy of the latest version to provide to my daughter, since the embedded reader isn't terribly user friendly for her tablet. When I couldn't find out how to download a PDF copy I reached out and asked their support channel for help. Their response was basically they don't provide PDF versions of their magazine for copyright reasons. Ok, fair enough, however the website is very much misleading, as it doesn't really say that PDF editions are only accessible via their embedded PDF viewer on their website.
All in all, I'm now stuck with a digital subscription that I can't realistically use as I was expecting, I'm yet to hear back on my refund request. Honestly, I really felt very mislead by this company's marketing and just want others to fully understand what they're getting into.

Great range of topics to appeal to various readers. Good balance of intro level and more advanced technical information to allow new-comers to find something that can hook them while providing new information/perspectives to more advanced readers. Encourages healthy skepticism to nurture scientific literacy.
