We are here, albeit in a reduced capacity during these difficult times. Established over 70 years, 5 generations of the Owen Barry family have been involved in the tanning and producing of beautiful leather, cowhide and sheepskin products here in Somerset. Please be assured all orders are still being despatched very promptly, at Owen Barry our raison d'être has always been to help our clients find the best quality and value for money whilst guaranteeing them service and eco surety; and even during these unprecedented times, that is still our primary goal. We have a very small skeleton staff fulfilling orders and helping customers, so please don't hesitate to telephone, email and ideally carry on purchasing from us - we would sincerely appreciate your support, perhaps even more so at the moment! Owen Barry staff are the heart and soul of our British manufacturing business, most have the team have been with us "forever" and we want it to stay that way, therefore we are obviously doing everything we can to keep them safe. Presently many of the OB team have been furloughed, leaving just a few of us finishing and despatching orders, but please don't let that stop you, we are thoroughly enjoying the challenge, especially the customer service and interaction, remotely of course! Still handcrafting everything in our own factory based in the West of England, we use skills and knowledge that have been handed down from craftsman to another. Owen Barry is now headed up by mother and daughter duo of Cindi and Chas, whilst we no longer tan skins here at the Tanyard, we still invest a great deal of time, passion and inherent knowledge resourcing from the worlds finest tanneries to ensure,the quality and the environmental provenance of all the skins we use. By doing this we can ensure everything we make comes from a bi product of the food industry, this together with locally or European sourced trimmings, sundries and supplies means we are keeping our environmental footprint to a minimum whilst all the time cutting back on wastage and single use plastics. Warm, Elegant, and Excellent Quality
Beautiful handmade sheepskin mittens with excellent quality and craftsmanship. The design is simple and elegant, and the Dark Brown color is a rich dark chocolate/espresso tone. I have an 18.5 cm hand circumference and the One Size fits perfectly — it would also work well for slightly larger hands. Extremely warm and wind-resistant, even in very cold temperatures. Shipping from the UK to the US was very smooth and hassle-free.

Great OB Jacket perfect for the weather, great brand,
I love Owen Barry Brand, designs, and ethos, using uk sourced leather desigking and making locally in Somerset. My reversible jacket has been a godsend in the coldspell we are going through and looks stylish and on trend in a bitter chocolate dark brown. I love it!
I have also bought christmas presents for my family and they have great sales. Service is also spot on.
