Rob listened carefully to what we needed, and he knew immediately which dog was right for us. He trained me and the children on how to handle her and it worked like a miracle process. She is literally the perfect dog, she protects us and has given us a freedom I wasn't sure we would get back, yes she is also entirely safe with the 3 small children, the 4 cats and even the chickens. She is loving, and she has the most amazing nature. Rob sent us an angel in the form of this canine and he went out of his way to help us. He really cared about us individually and as a family. Bob been training with my pup since Christmas and he’s come along way in the few weeks since, he’s a very social and gentle pup now and far less worked up and anxious. He has amazing recall and his ability to walk on a lead has made my life a whole lot easier! Couldn’t recommend anyone better to teach not only your dog but yourself the techniques to continue the work at home!

Tried locally for a dog trainer nobody was interested. Quick Google search one to one came up bob answered straight away and arrange to meet me with nova(dog) 3 sessions in and what a huge difference and its only the start i would highly recommend bob and his team nothing is a problem and he definitely brings the dog out of its shell as we have a german shepherd that was shy wouldnt bark wouldnt sit on command and now its one word and shes listening thanks bob

I have been in the company of rob for about 8 weeks now and the control and obedience he has installed in me and my rottweiler is fantastic he is a big dog and that has become trust worthy of been of being great companion and friend to me and my children. there is a great big thanks owed to this man and his ethic for work with animals. I will truly have around protection dog for me and the family with what he is installing on how to train our dog from on a 1 2 1 and basissis l to us i have noticed that this man is try fantastic with ani.al and he control with them and have seen first hand how good he is and see that the negative reviews are u called for and I will personally see that I continue to employ him to further my dogs training

I urge anyone considering this trainer to be extremely cautious and do your research.

My experience with Rob Metcalfe was deeply upsetting — both for me and, far more importantly, for my dog. Everything I’m sharing here is based on what I personally experienced, and I hope it helps someone avoid the distress we went through.

I first contacted Rob after seeing his one-to-one dog training website. He phoned me immediately, which in hindsight should have been my first warning sign. During the initial “assessment,” he came across as friendly enough, but all he really did was make my dog sit using a thin slip lead. He said he would create a plan for my dog’s reactivity, and then booked two follow-up sessions for the next week, £150 each. I had never used a trainer before, and I now realise how naive I was to agree so quickly.
Before one of the sessions, Rob called to say he could take my dog out for the day to “socialise him with other dogs” for £300. Believing this was a legitimate, professional service, I said yes. He arrived late, put my dog in the back of his van, and I heard several other dogs barking inside. I felt uneasy but didn’t yet realise how wrong things were.
Throughout the day Rob notified me saying my dog was “fine,” though looking back, I don’t think he ever once used my dog’s name — another red flag.
When he returned my dog, my heart sank. My boy was distressed, overheated and dry despite it raining all day in December. He drank two full bowls of water before hiding himself away in a dark room. This behaviour was completely out of character. For days afterward he seemed anxious, shut down, and struggled to sit properly.

Based on what I observed, I can only assume he spent those 12 hours confined in the back of the van, scared, without proper care, food, or water. That thought still makes me feel sick.
When I contacted Rob the next day asking for the promised progress videos, he suddenly claimed his phone camera was broken. That’s when it became painfully clear to me that something was very wrong. He insisted he wasn’t scamming anyone and even offered a refund — but then said he couldn’t use PayPal. I reluctantly gave him bank details to a rarely-used account, and unsurprisingly, he never sent the refund and has ignored my message since.

At this point, I don’t even care about the money. What matters is my dog’s wellbeing and warning others. After reading many other worrying stories on Trustpilot and Facebook, I realised I wasn’t alone. I have reported my experience to Trading Standards and the relevant sites, and I strongly encourage anyone else affected to do the same.
If you haven’t used this ‘business’ yet, please think twice. In my experience, you may lose money — but worse, your dog’s confidence and spirit will be harmed in the process.
