Bought Insenso Olive oil because of the highest Polyphenol content I could find while still supporting a NZ importer/supplier (I asked specifically for the highest and was kindly guided to Intenso as a 1st choice). I take it as a supplement straight from a tablespoon with Olive Leaf extract and other fat soluble supplements in the morning right before my first bite of a hot breakfast (150mg Geranylgeraniol, 100mg Deltagold(vit E), 5000iu D3, and 3000ug K2 MK4). Oil and Leaf together have an antioxidant effect better than Oil or Leaf alone from information listening to lectures online. I actually love the flavor of Intenso on its own and savor it without adding to food as the taste is really fresh and light with one heck of a tickle at the back of my throat. Makes me cough a little every time. Fantastic. To get the same Polyphenol content from very good NZ grown Olive oil I would have to take up to 3-4x the amount to achieve the equivalent polyphenols content as Intenso. (I rung growers in NZ and they told me the polyphenol content of average High Quality NZ oil, which is about 200mg/litre). Why does this matter? Wouldn't more delicious Olive oil be better for my taste and health. Nope, The PUFA in olive oil is 10%. According to Chris Knobbe, proof of anything more than about 5% PUFA(omega6) of total calories per day leads to many western health issues. What better way to use up my daily PUFA quota... Intenso is a winner. It's a premium price. It's a premium product.
