The worst note taking experience possible.
Doesn't sync between devices.
loses notes
Creates infinite copies for no reason
can't access information in tables.
The mind boggles as to why these people persist with their products. I'm going to give all my notes to my toddler to look after - they will be safer and the interface will make more sense.

This Pixel Pro Fold is expensive and a joke!
After 4 months it started to play up. I went and got a Esim because I thought it was the sim card that was not the problem the sim card was not connecting.
Then the front screen kept going blank, then it would pixelate.
My calls kept dropping out I checked my provider it was that it was the phone. Then I couldn't answer calls, when I did then I couldn't hang up unless I powered the phone down.
The bluetooth connection to my headset was atrocious people couldn't hear me.
Then it just wouldn't turn on.
So, absolutlely a dud of a machine!!

The entire app is free. Most users only need the free version. Company ethos is good, always private, always open file.

Seems to be a bad faith company and thus im not sure i trust them with my notes. Went to try buying a month (5 dollars per month) since their price page said "sync is 5 dollars and allows sync between devices". But after i got thr credit and go to start sync it says "1 vault only" which is very little. And then when i went to get a refund i followed the billing->invoice and refunds but there is no way to request a refund (just shows past invoices). A real shame since I like the way the program looks /work otherwise. I might still try and might change the review, but this was very disapointing.

Obsidian is a great app overall - it's great for basic note taking or building a PKM system.

There's definitely a learning curve, but there's also an active community of users building plugins, making videos and guides to make it easier to use.

With Obsidian, you're in control of your vault and files. With a cloud service like Notion, you're not.

impossible d'ouvrir un fichier .md : juste la base. Vous pouvez tenter de glisser/déposer, ou modifier l'action windows sur un double clic sur fichiers *.md, rien ne se passe.
En fait il faut créer un "coffre", mais ce n'est pas expliqué comment. Et les créateurs doivent trouver cela intelligent je suppose

App is full of bug, support sucks. They refused my post on the support forum just because I didn't follow their useless template yet my post had all the information needed. Company is a scam, products are broken and there's no support

I track goals in obsidian. Every sunday I link challenges to progress and it helps me see why I'm stuck. It feels like talking to a smarter version of myself. You deserve 5 out of 5

Good note taking app. Like that you can easily link notes and you can skip doing folder grouping

Nice software to create your very own personal wiki. You have to know markdown and its syntax to be able to use it effectively, but that's easy to learn.

Game changer. I don't usually recommend non-FOSS apps, but Obsidian is probably the best note-taking option out there.

After trying dozens of note-taking apps, I have finally found home. Obsidian is just so good, it does exactly what I want. And since it's completely customizable, I can always change stuff if my needs change.

I sleep well knowing that all files are stored locally on my devices and that even if all data centers in the world burned down, I'd still have access to them.

It's also great with an active dev community, all building interesting integrations. For example, Obsidian had chatGPT integration long before Notion or any of the competitors.

I learned about Obsidian a few months ago while searching for a productivity program but found something even better: a program to write creatively and connect the knowledge using direct links, similar to how we connect experiences and concepts in our brains.

After studying for a bit how it works, I arrived at the conclusion that it's deeply useful for some specific tasks but there are alternatives for others.

Regarding what I use it for, it is to write my master's degree dissertation, while keeping in mind how all the information is connected and also writing a book about my experiences on the Camino de Santiago in Spain.

I would say that it's not a program for everyone, but for the ones that can and will use it, it's amazing at what it does: enabling creative freedom and making connections between information.
