I had breakdown cover with Nova Direct and had a breakdown on a motorway in France while travelling with my wife, my disabled child, and my 4-year-old daughter.
After contacting them, I was told to wait while they arranged recovery. After around six hours waiting in cold conditions, I was informed that they could not find a contractor and that I needed to arrange private recovery myself.
As a result, I had no choice but to pay £300 for recovery and £150 for a hotel. They later advised that they would only reimburse up to €75, which does not reflect real recovery costs, especially on a motorway abroad.
Being left in this situation with young and vulnerable passengers was extremely distressing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this breakdown service for travel…
The price is cheap through Wowcher. I waited 3 hours yesterday to be recovered, my heating stopped working so it was unpleasant.
Breakdown cover on the 13th broken down on the 18th
Was informed you have wait 30 days to claim !
So you're not covered rip off

Required recovery to a garage. Claim accepted after 7 calls (they hung up on 6 times), however they told me they could only recover 12.5 miles as 'the rest of the miles are taken up by the recovery men travelling to you'. The policy states we can be recovered to a garage within a 25 mile radius, nothing anywhere about what I was told. Actually illegal behaviour, changing the policy terms over the phone, will be complaining to the ombudsman.

I contacted nova direct to cancel my auto renewal as I no longer needed the policy. Morgan helped me on my quest and helped me link my policy to my account and guided me through the process which let me get on about my day without the stress of doing it on my own. Thanks again Morgan and I will be using this company again in the future.

Purchased breakdown for a motorcycle. I didn't check policy so my fault on that part. Didn't expect the opt out they got themselves from helping me. Called them and needed them and they wouldn't help because they said the policy wording says I must carry a spare tyre, a wheel locking nut and a jack. I explained I'm on a motorcycle and I don't have these. Breakdown assist denied. So I was charged but they found a way out of assisting and left me stranded.

Horrible customer service system impossible to get hold of a human being to talk too..also been asked to pay £150 claim excess before any claim was assessed only to be tpld my phone was within samsung warranty still. So now no contact or replies as where and how do i get ky money bck??? Cancelled the renewal but had no further contact irs all made by AI and really frustating..do not use this company

It’s all well and good a company scoring high for customer service and cost BUT when I take out BREAKDOWN cover, the one thing I expect the company to do is cover me in the case of a breakdown!
Unfortunately, after my tyre literally exploded after hitting a pot hole on the motorway I was informed much to my dismay by this company that they would not cover this because I did not have a spare wheel in the car.
I kid you not.
I own a BMW with run flat tyres, which do not have a spare wheel.
In fact, the whole reason I took out breakdown cover was exactly because I did not have a spare wheel and wanted that extra peace of mind in an accident or emergency.
So in summary, I’ve paid for breakdown cover by this company and when I needed them, they literally left me stranded on the motorway and I had to pay a local tow truck 300 pounds.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!
