The Nextbase OBD Power Cable offers a simple plug & play solution with a 5-metre cable to give you the ability to install the power cable in your vehicle to meet your needs.
By using your vehicles OBD port the Dash Cam will be connected to a permanent power supply ensuring the camera is not only recording while you’re driving but also can access the power in the event of a collision when your vehicle is parked. The OBD port eliminates the need to use the 12V outlet (car cigarette socket). It includes a 90° connector for an easier connection, as well as an LED indicator light to show when the Dash Cam is connected, and power is available. *Compatible with vehicles with an OBD port.
*5m cable length *Includes: 5V Mini USB power cable and ferrite core *NOTE - Intelligent Parking Mode must be enabled when the Dash Cam is powered using the Series 2 OBD Hardwire Kit.

Pleasantly surprised to find this product available from NextBase. Great to have the Dashcam “always on” and not to need the cigarette lighter option. Easy to install - apart from finding somewhere to hide the excess cable. The OBD Port on my car is in the footwell under the steering wheel and it took a few contortions. Good job I’m still flexible! 😀😀😀

Nice extra, needed a new power cable as the hardwire cable I had was 7 - 8 years old and was causing charging issues. The EOBD wiring kit is a lot better. It doesn't impact on the cars starter battery, even when the car is not used for a few days

Nextbase drained my battery despite buying and fitting this (recommended) kit. Someone else I know had the same thing happen to them, this is a serious issue Nextbase and you need to address it!

I was going to hardwire my dash cam into the fusebox but it was a pig to get the covers off and was afraid of breaking them. Saw this, read the comments, bought it, found the OBD socket. fitted the plug ran the wire to it, found a space for the spare wire and closed all the covers, works a dream.
