This was our second visit to Nc'nean, the first being last February (it makes a nice day off from winter walking!)

We made a day trip out of it, with a scenic drive stopping to visit the distillery, and it was well worth the effort of getting there.

It is a little off the beaten track with quite a bit of single track road to negotiate, but whatever the weather it is a nice scenic journey (actually spectacular this time).

We were welcomed with a coffee/tea & started with a chat explaining how they came to be, and why they are in the middle of nowhere! This was followed by a tour round the distillery explaining the complete process and which also highlighted that their organic & sustainable ethos applies to everything that they do. A tasting rounded things off nicely - apart from a bit of shopping, obviously...

At 2 hours or so this is longer than most distillery tours, but the time flew by. On this occasion our tour guide was Douglas who did a great job & managed to answer all of our questions - thanks Douglas.

And while they may be a fairly new distillery, in my opinion they make some really good & very drinkable whiskies :-)

Remember to book in advance and to allow plenty of time for the journey.

Roberto was an excellent tour leader, knowledgeable and considerate. Unrushed and very accommodating of both us and our little pooch. Beautiful whisky. Cosy bar. Bought some lovely goodies

We had a tour of the distillery up in Drimnin, Scotland.
Lovely afternoon, started with tea and cake outside, with a history of the company and ethos.
Followed by a tour of the distillery, then a tasting session.
It felt very un-rushed and relaxed, bought lots of their lovely products too.
