Disgraceful service,
I pay for emergency call out, and it has been over a week now! Still no one has came out to repair the damage of my cracked roof, pigeon s are now nesting in my house! Gutters blocked because of the damage, can get through to the insurance company!

Terrible experience. Avoid using this company they will do anything to avoid paying out and will only offer the cheapest replacement!

Worst thing I did when I got Nationwide home insurance.
This has been going on for six weeks now and I have put in an official complaint.
I got someone from Checkatrade myself to do the work, and it's good I did because nothing would have been done yet.
They have had no report from the assessor they sent yet, and although this was from storm damage the assessor said source unknown.
But the people from Checkatrade found a damaged tile on my roof.
If I had not got this done myself I would have been in a real mess with the weather we are having.

Bought through Nationwide, paid extra for home emergency cover and when my boiler broke down I had no heating or hot water but this is not classed as an emergency so was told had to wait until the following day and stay home between 9-5 freezing cold. My complaint was dismissed so I cancelled the policy. AVOID this company any excuse not to pay or cover you. Worthless insurance policy.

When is a storm not a storm? When you stupidly take out home insurance with RSA. The met office will give out warnings of storms and strong winds (amber) - but RSA have their own definition. so if you experience any damage they will not want to cover you. - do not take out insurance that is linked to any banks as you will end up being underwritten by these guys - storm damage assessed by amateurs. Please beware you have been warned.

Having had to make a recent claim I was pleasantly surprised by the speed and quality of service I received.

The call handler was very professional, cash settlements were offered or replacement items supplied. The whole claim was settled in 20 minutes and money and replacement items all arrived within 4 days.

Bought my policy through Nationwide. Had a few issues before but this is the final straw. Roof damaged in storm. Told me to get two quotes, lucky for me I didn’t fork out for scaffolding. They sent a “surveyor” with a camera who had already decided before getting here the claim was not successful, so why waste my time? After contacting my local weatherman he has sent in weather reports to my complaint file with RSA confirming there was a storm and sent proof. You aren’t really covered with these lot. Wasting money now I have to go to the ombudsman after they have finished dealing with my complaint which I know won’t get resolved. And for now I’m scared about my roof. I will never use them again and judging by other reviews this is how they roll.

My parents have an insurance claim ongoing with Nationwide and RSA. They are waiting for building and interior renovations to start.
My parents are both elderly with my dad dealing with heart issues and my
Mother having ailments.
It is shocking to me that still no one has comeback with satisfactory answers.
I may as well shout in the wind!

Do not use this company for your home insurance!! Don’t want to pay out on claims leave you months with out a bathroom! Claim handlers trained to drag out the claim so you give up. Claim been going on since Dec still not sorted!! Stay clear of RSA worse company ever!!!

I tried to get a building insurance quote on line and after giving all the details they said they could not quote and may be due to flooding but there has never been flooding and never will be. Waste of time and data collection / retention. If you read this please remove my data within 10 days
