In addition I am in shock at the reviews and the fact that despite complaints and even being flagged on Rip Off Britain these people are still allowed to trade - They should in prison!
Despite all of the above if you went onto the website you can still book and pay a deposit!!!!

This company is actually Unbeatable Hire Limited according to its company registration number 04306649 or Hire Booking Centre under company registration number 07994025, which trades under a multitude of online names or partnered / affiliated online companies which Include:
Motorhomehire.uk.com / Motorholme.co.uk / Nationalmotorhomesbooking.co.uk / Nationalmotorhomes.com / Nationalmotorhomes.co.uk / Motorhomeexpress.co.uk / Motorhomefreedom.co.uk / Festivalmotorhomeshire.co.uk / Unbeatablehire.com / Petfriendlymotorhomes.co.uk / HIirebookingcentre.com, all run by Karen Oakley & Andrew Hughes based at their address in Cambridge, namely Fairways, Toft Road, Bourn, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB23 2TT.
There are probably more online trading names that I have not had the time to research yet, when I do, I will update this review.
I booked a Motorhome at the beginning of December for a four night hire in February, through Motorhome Express, I even had the booking confirmed by e-mail which told me I had to book a telephone interview with them, to talk to through my booking details with them, which I did.
Two weeks later, I received an e-mail from their Hire Administrator reminding me to 'CHECK IN' but when you try to do this, you get linked to a new webpage "HIRE CHECK IN" and this message THIS BOOKING HAS BEEN CANCELLED "Due to ongoing issues, we are unable to process credit card payments nor deposit refunds at this time. Unfortunately due to this situation, Unbeatablehire is filing notice for insolvency."
Then a list of things to do to attempt to get your money back from your card company.
I had not even heard of Unbeatable Hire Limited and there is no mention of the parent company on the booking website, and if thats not bad enough, considering they claim to have filed for administration, they are still trading and I can even make a booking online today through every one of the compaines trading names.
I notice within each email I received, there is also a CC recipient to this link "emailtosalesforce@24x5j9rtle79r77cpibtghbuv. in.salesforce.com" and I have been receiving this same e-mail every for the last 17 days, all with the same result.
I am not the only person that has booked a Motorhome and after the money has been taken, have received an e-mail informing them the hire has been cancelled.
TOTAL SCAM and in my opinion the company is trading fraudulently and ripping of the credit card companies (I paid by credit card so get my money back) or if you paid by debit card, rippin off YOU!
There is even a 'RIP OFF Britain' video hosted by Gloria Hunniford on youtube which gives you an idea of this company and how it treats its customer, in my case it looks like they gone to a new scam.

They are running this new scam whereby Xmas bookings are being cancelled and then they go quiet. I have a transcript of a chat today where I was repeatedly told to claim a chargeback from my bank which I'm in the process of doing. There will be an investigation and then a resolution. Meanwhile my £837 remains in limbo.
The whole process has been choreographed from the start with extras added along the way. I had a bad feeling but never thought it would lead to this.
The main name seems to be Unbeatable Hire Ltd.
Look them up at Companies House and you'll find out who the Directors are.
I’m calling Trading Standards next & I suggest we all do the same. I think there will be hundreds of us caught in this scam. Maybe we should start a FB group to communicate, maybe a demo at their base…

I had the same issues as others with no refund of deposit for 5 months. Refer this to your credit card company and they sort it out for you - i finally got mine back. Pass this on to others who are not getting their deposits back

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This company will rip you off at everyturn. By the time youve paid the "great hire offer" and move to the next section the costs just pile up. DO NOT PAY ANYTHING until you have read their terms and condition in detail. Do not miss a thing expecially the safety speed limit, if you go 1 km over 70 you will be charged £75. The TV didnt work. Do not run your hot water or you will run out of gas, not something they tell you about. They warn you about nothing, just let you fall into their trap. Never again and take care they run under different names

I meant to do this a few months ago but you know how it is.... Booked a campervan and paid a deposit. Circumstances caused me to cancel within 24hrs. Phoned them to cancel and also cancelled on line . They told me refund would take up to 28 days to be made. After 49 days there was no sight of the refund. No one answered telephone calls and leaving a message similarly did not produce any response. In the end I got my credit card company involved and they gave me a refund . Strongly suggest you read all reviews about this company before doing anything and, should you decide to book, DO IT WITH A CREDIT CARD .

What a shower this Money hungry organisation is that runs under many names. Looking at the reviews on the Web it’s a wonder they do any business, I wish I had looked for reviews before I booked. Everything is extra with constant emails asking you to take up various options, at extra cost of course, eg TV licence&early pick up. You get the T&C’ s after you’ve booked and my reaction was, ‘OMG what have I let myself in for’ I seriously thought of cancelling but there was no chance of a refund-Very poor refund policy. It took, after threats, 3 months to refund the £1250 deposit which they did at the point of instigating a section 75 with the CC company. On the positive (oh yes there is a positive) the motor home was very nice. I have not seen one review answered by them, so they don’t bother to defend the poor feed back. To say they are sharp is an understatement. My recommendation is - DO NOT USE.

Rip you off from start to finish, don’t explain anything about extra charges when initially book, you’ve already paid a massive chunk of hire cost by time you find out, and then can’t cancel without losing all that money. Constantly email and text with special offers, including pay to park your car, pay for early pick up, late drop off, even a pre pick up tutorial, they shouldn’t be hiring out without that, surely it’s against the law to not show people how to use all the items, health and safety if don’t know to turn gas off and on!! Just everything is extra, like booking a hotel and having to bring your own bed and clean after you’ve stayed. Final straw is the refundable deposit, 28 working days, they keep everyone’s, imagine the interest they are gathering, and when ask will I be getting interest back you’ve been accruing, they were not amused, surely within this country that is illegal?! Never again

He wouldn't give me his surname but having given him my mobile number he assured me that I was removed from their spam text list. Needless to say these have continued & I'm now about to write to them to give them their final warning before taking my complaint to the ICO. These scum bags keep changing their number but do link back to the same web site. They have a reputation for this and deserve everything they get from now on.
Honest review - avoid like the plague
Update on this review. Avoid at all costs. My deposit was not returned. When I chased they tried to deduct over £700 in extras that had either never been used or were included in the cost. The biggest being additional mileage even though I booked unlimited.

I wanted to post an honest review of this company and to let people know exactly what happens during the hiring process. Yes, they have sharp practices that I don't agree with, but go in with your eyes open and you'll get a very cheap rental.
I rented one of their largest vans for 4 nights at a cost of £156 and booked via their website. I'd read the reviews so knew what they were like but decided to take my chances.
What will happen after you rent a van from them? You will be bombarded with emails and "special offers". These range from renting kitchen supplies, sat navs, bedding, extra gas, toilet cleaning products, TV license, hookup cable, pay to collect early, pay to drop off late...... You name it, they'll try and sell it to you, it's how they make their money.
What they don't tell you is that the motorhome actually comes with everything you need apart from bedding. And I mean everything. Knives, forks, hook-up cables, wine glasses, gas, toilet cleaning products, hook up cables.....everything. All you need to take with you is your bedding.
Go into renting from this company with your eyes open and you'll get a van cheaply as long as you refuse and can handle being bombarded by emails and sms messages. They send a lot of emails and sms. I just learned to ignore them. The only message you need to reply to us the one about a TV license. If you don't reply to that they'll try and deduct this from your deposit. All I did was email them explaining that I did not want this and they accepted that (even though they say they want proof of you having a licenses!) It's just nonsense.
They have a portal that you can use and it's actually fairly good. The process is simple to follow just follw the instructions in the emails they send you.
The main complaint seems to be the security deposit. Yes, you will pay a deposit if you refuse their insurance of around £1250 depending on the size of the van. The only was around this is to take their insurance. The only reason I can see for you doing this is if you can't afford the deposit. DO NOT take it as it's massively overpriced. If you're worried about the excess buy yourself an excess policy. They are about £45 per year and cover you for ALL car/motorhome rentals.
They say this deposit comes back to your card after 28 days. If you want it back earlier call your credit card company and tell them this company won't return your deposit and they'll do a charge back for you.
I collected my motorhome from their Heathrow depot located in Walton-on-Thames. Every email you get will say you have to collect after 3pm and drop off by 11am (or pay extra) so I called them to see what time I could collect? I was told anytime after 9:30am was fine. I did return mine before 11am so not sure what would happen if you dropped off late. When calling them I also asked what I needed to bring, this was when I was told that the vans come complete with everything you need. The staff at the site were very polite and professional. There is a lot of bad feedback on here and it's done by people not understanding how these companies operate. Be as sharp as them and play them at their own game. Take no extras.

They will debit you £1,250 for a deposit which you will have to fight for 2 months to get back, threatening court proceedings etc. Trading Standards are aware of them so file a complaint with them also should you have any issue, but best avoid!!
deposit returned in full and on time
Further to my earlier review on our return from a most enjoyable few days in a Motor Home, and in view of some of the other reviews, it is important to put on record that my deposit was returned in full within the agreed timescale. National Motors Homes hold onto deposits for a month in order to assess any damage and in case there are any parking fines etc. They then send a final invoice by email. If you click your agreement to the final statement of account, any monies due are automatically credited to the card from which payment was made. Although most hire companies clear deposits immediately on ones return, unless there is damage to be assessed, the procedure followed by National Motor Home Hire is clearly set out in their "terms and conditions". The staff at National Motor Home Hire could not have been more helpful and had let us re-arrange our original hire due to "Storm Emma" meeting the "Beast from the East".
Website is a scam - claims availability in order to grab your phone number.
Their website says "available - book now" and when you go to pay the deposit, it then says "actually, it's not available", then a telesales operator will phone you a few minutes later asking if you want to book it on another date. Waste of time!
Still waiting for refund 6 weeks later...
Although staff can’t do enough for you I am still waiting for my £250 refundable deposit! They make you wait 28 days after the return of the motorhome to follow the link for the refund and yet I’m still waiting 3 weeks after the 28 days and no longer responding to my emails. On top of this the motorhome we hired was awful, toilet still full from the previous hirer, blinds and cupboards broken, parts of the bed missing, was a total sham and would never hire from this company again.

Terrible, untrustworthy, slippery company who disguise themselves under different names: Unbeatable Hire, National Motorhomes, Hire Booking Centre. They have charged us £125 for a broken vent which was already broken on departure. Lots of people reporting missing deposits. Disgusting conduct. They should be taken out of business. Reporting them to trading standards, Watchdog and Guardian Consumer Champions.

I agree with everything said here (except the positive review :-)). The initial rental process was ok but then everything is extra. Watch out for the insurance rip off. £24 a day if use their insurance. If want to sort your own you have to leave a £1000 deposit in addition to the £250 you have to pay anyway. Oh and that deposit.....don’t think you’ll get it back quickly!! 28 ‘working days’ after you return your Motorhome you should receive your deposit back. But, wait for it, you needed to have remembered you have to log back in and request it yourself. If you’ve forgotten that (or were never told!!) they kindly remind you a further week later via email to log back in. In the meantime the rude CustomerService staff remind you of that. Then once you’ve done that you’re told it will take up to another 5 working days to appear, so that’s 33 working days now Guess what mine didn’t. After several emails get told there’s been a problem and they’ll have to initiate a manual refund but don’t know how long that will take, as in the hands of the merchant provider, which, by the way, is rubbish. So nearly a month after I should’ve had my deposit back and over 2 months since having hired the Motorhome still no refund and now they ignore me and don’t respond to emails. Went to MBNA (whose card I’d used to pay) who sorted a charge back. Should’ve done that earlier!! Overall appalling CustomerService would never use again. As the other reviewer said AVOID AVOID AVOID. Just shows how a bad experience ruins everything. They must have cash flow issues to need to hang on to your money that long. They check the Motorhome over when you return for damage so no need to hold deposit that long. Don’t have that with car rental they return it immediately after hire!!!

Their staff are extremely rude once they have their money from you. I too am now nearly 3 months down the line and still no refund of the damage deposit, even though they admitted that there’s no damage or extra costs etc.
I am now going through the small claims court and the bank to get the money back.
If you are affected by this then get in touch with trading standards, watchdogs, your bank and anyone else that you think should know.
By the way, it’s obvious they employ people to give a 5 star feedback and reviews. It’s usually a review about having a conversation and not the physical rental. They are scam artists and should be banned from trading.
