I had a support worker called Chris. He was very helpful and knowledgeable of all the different options available. Through out the whole process he was able to support me in making the right choice. I chose an IVA and it was the best option for me. I would highly recommend this company if you are struggling with debts.

I feel misled by my experience with this company. The process involved a great deal of lengthy back-and-forth communication with Stephen, during which I was led to believe that my debts would be resolved. However, I did not realise that the outcome ultimately depended on the creditors' votes.

To make matters worse, during that period they began taking direct debit payments towards my debts, and I am still awaiting my refund. I also discovered that my middle name had been recorded incorrectly all along, despite my having provided all the documents they requested. On several occasions during my interactions with the office, they also referred to a completely different case with entirely different details.

Now that my case did not receive enough votes from the creditors, nobody seems to care, and no one responds to my emails asking for an explanation—or for the reason my name was wrong on all the documents, even though I provided all my legal identification and supporting letters.

This has not been a good experience with this company.

My Response to IVA Help Reply

Thank you for responding to my review. However, you have not addressed the issues I raised.

Firstly, my name was written incorrectly on all the documents, despite my providing every ID you requested, all of which clearly show my legal name.

Secondly, on a couple of occasions when I spoke to your agents, they referred to completely different cases. This made me question the professionalism of the firm.

Thirdly, no one responded to the two emails I sent requesting an explanation of how the error on my name occurred, and the reasons my case did not acquire enough votes—especially as the difference was just 2%, and I could see that other creditors did not vote. I asked whether there was a reason for that, and again, no one responded.

Also, if you know that the outcome ultimately depends on the creditors' votes, why do you start taking direct debit payments from clients' accounts knowing the decision isn't final? You make someone believe everything is going through smoothly, right up until the last minute. You even ask for reviews beforehand, when people are more likely to give positive reviews without knowing the final outcome.

For comparison, I have since appointed another IVA company, and the experience has been far different. They are much more transparent and share with you exactly how they are going to present your case to the creditors, and invite you to add anything if you wish. I found this collaborative approach much more effective, and far more likely to encourage creditors to vote positively—something I never experienced with your company. I did not have a clue how I was being represented, and I received no explanation of why I did not get enough votes. This raises a lot of concerns.

I would recommend the following:

• Please ask your staff to pay attention to detail. As it stands, I cannot use any of the letters, because my name is wrong.
• Please be transparent with clients from the beginning that the outcome ultimately comes down to the votes. Do not give false hope. People are already going through enough with debts and everything else.
• Clients deserve an explanation even if they don't get enough votes. In my case, out of 75%, I received 73.5%—which is very close—and I wanted an explanation as to why the other creditors weren't asked to vote. But it seemed that if you don't get the votes, your file gets discarded and no one cares to explain unless you call.
• I also think money shouldn't be taken from clients until you get the final verdict from the creditors, to save everyone the hassle of claiming refunds.

I got myself into debt and had no were to turn I had sleepless nights my anxiety was through the roof. So i decided to ring nationaldebtaid and I spoke to James. He could tell I was nervous and with in 2 minutes James made me feel at ease. He talked me through everything and reassured me that he could help me. James is so understanding a fantastic person.you can tell James loves what he is doing and that's helping people out with their debts.The last few days James as kept in touch with me and as told me everything that I needed to know nationaldebtaid and James have been absolutely wonderful.and I can't thank them enough.If anyone is in debt please ring nationaldebtaid and speak to James he will put your mind at ease Julie

Chris made everything easy to understand and really help relieve any worries i had about the process I really struggle with anything of this nature and he made it very easy to talk about it

Friendly and helpful staff who want nothing but to help and support you through whatever struggles financially you may have. They clearly outlined all my options for me to move forward with financial independence. I was in conversation with james who put me at rest immediately with a good honest conversation regarding we're I need to be after james completed all the paperwork there end I was more than happy to go head.

This service is absolutely first class in every respect.
I had my finances thoroughly reviewed by Stephen, he actually found accounting that I had no idea was there ..! By the end of the process, I, with Stephen's guidance, agreed on a program of consolidation that would be acceptable to all parties concerned, on a five year plan.

This was finally processed around a week later. I have to say this was an absolute godsend and fully restored my peace of mind and mental fortitude. Stephen instilled a calm and confident rationality throughout.

To conclude, I can't thank Stephen and the whole IVA Ltd. Team enough. A full five stars is barely sufficient !
