Any other furniture store over Bobs Discount Furniture

Basically I bought a table and the warranty. The table literally fell apart while we were dining. Large marble table and we are lucky to be alive. We paid for their assembly and delivery. The goof proof warranty that they gladly sold us has not helped us.

I have NEVER been a fan of Bobs…

I have NEVER been a fan of Bobs Furniture but I decided to give them one last chance. I ordered a leather sectional that had electric recliners. I paid roughly $5k which included the $299 5yr warranty.

I purchased the couch in August of 2024 and started noticing that the seam in the chaise started separating. I also noticed that the seam is separating on other pieces but it wasn’t as noticeable as it was on the chaise.

The couch wasn’t even a year old before it started breaking down. Thankfully the $299 5yr warranty worked and they replaced the chaise yesterday on 7/31. When inquiring on how to use this benefit the agent asked why I didn’t report it sooner as I reported it 4 months after the year began. I politely and frankly informed him that I was undergoing cancer treatment and that I was just getting around to tending to my home. The agent was respectful and processed the order.

All in all, this will most likely be my last time dealing with Bobs. The furniture is really too cheap and doesn’t last long.

Easy process

Greeted right when we arrived at the store. Took us to exactly what we needed to see. Elizabeth was great through the whole process.

Unreliable

I went to Bob's Furniture for a bunk bed with trundle and I got this bundle with 2 twin mattresses included. The order was placed on July 11 and the bed was expected on July 22 and the mattresses on July 26. While the visit in the store was great and I found what I wanted and the bed was delivered on time, the mattress delivery date was rescheduled twice. First they let me know on July 24 that the mattresses would come on August 2nd instead because they were out of stock and then they call me again on July 28 to tell me I would have to wait until August 8. Very inconvenient to say the least. I contacted their support to cancel the order for the mattresses for which the agent tells me I could still get them on August 9???? and guess what...I have to figure it out myself with the bank to adjust the bill and the payment plan, unlike what I was told from the store manager who assured me the bank would be getting the adjusted price from them. I am never trusting Bob's again. I really don't understand how they can sell something they don't have in stock and don't even know when will come. Takes a lot of courage to expect from a customer to just wait patiently while they postpone the delivery by 1 more week every 4 days.

Goof Proof FAIL.

Goof Proof FAIL.
Very disappointed with their goof proof policy. Orders a 7 piece couch with recliners. Delivered, everything was fine, and maybe 4,5,6+ months later one of the recliners stopped working. We paid $299 for the Goof Proof which we were told covered everything for 5 years. So we did order this in end of 2023, broke sometime early 2024, and never got around to making the call. Finally decided to call and started the process. Goof proof says i had to of informed them within 30 days, and the original manufacturers warranty would have to cover it. Called Bobs and they said they cant cover it because its over their time policy.
So basically two companies pointing fingers at each other, and I'm stuck with a couch with a broken motor. Wish i knew about this 30 days limit so anyone reading you have been warned.

Unacceptable service and total lack of accountability

I had one of the worst customer service experiences with Bob’s Furniture Bay Plaza. They completely messed up the delivery address on my order, even though it was correct when I placed it. To make matters worse, the delivery driver was rude and flat-out refused to come back with the furniture, saying, “I’m not coming back.” No apology, no accountability—just pure disregard.

Because of their mistake, my grandchild had to sleep on the floor for almost a week while we waited for a resolution that never came. I called the store and spoke with supervisors, but was told they had no control over the delivery because it’s handled by a third-party vendor. This is completely unacceptable. If you contract out your deliveries, you're still responsible for making it right.

The supervisor who claimed he would personally handle the issue and call me back didn't even have the decency to follow through. Instead, he had someone else call me with no support, no resolution, and no plan to fix their error.

Bob’s Furniture completely failed to deliver,not just the product, but basic customer service and decency. I’ll never shop here again, and I’d caution anyone who values reliable service to look elsewhere.

From bad to good

June , 2025 I had a bad taste of welcoming me & my husband,, As we went to Bob Funiture
In Yonkers ,, stereotyped and profiling as we felt, looking at Living room furniture ,,
As we were browsing , the sale person ,, took us to the outlet on the other side of the store ,,
“Pershaps this is more affordable for you”
“ why are you showing me this furniture
Do we look as we can’t afford to buy from the store ??
I told my husband let’s leave ,,,
However ,,that didn’t stop me from getting what my heart was set to get ,,
I told my husband let’s go to ,
Harlem Bob Furniture Maybe, we get better luck !!
And we did ,,

Their customer professionalism and service
Was above and beyond,,,
To help us accomplish our mission.

A very pleasant process

We were greeted immediately at the door & were allowed to roam and look as we needed. As soon as we were ready to discuss a sale, our salesman Mike was awesome and explained the process thoroughly and helped to get us financed & scheduled our furniture to be delivered when it was convenient for us.
It was a very painless process & we will have a new dining room set & living room set in a few weeks.

Not only the customer service, was great, but the benefits Bob’s offers after the purchase, made us know that this was the perfect choice

I’m a returning customer to bob’s…

I’m a returning customer to bob’s furniture. They always have the best selection and affordable prices. Erick helped us this time selecting the perfect mattress and a couch which was according to our needs. He was very accommodating and helpful. Very polite, friendly and made our overall experience worthwhile.

Poor quality...Don't waste your money!

My wife and I bought a sofa for our living room. In less than a year the threads and seams are coming apart and we hardly sit on it and have no pets or young children. Purchased the goof proof insurance but they won't cover it. Normal wear and tear they say. I thought all furniture places were equal but apparently not. Should have done more research before purchasing from them. I will never buy from Bob's Discount Furniture again.

Simone at the Villa Park location

Simone at the Villa Park location was great at helping us find an item that felt opulent, was crafted in quality and was within our budget. She was amazing at showing us so many versatile designs and pairings and has an eye for interior design that was evident in the way she helped us navigate the store. Truly great experience all around. Simone is a rockstar!

Delay in order finalization

All good except when came time to finalize the order. Apparently my previous Bobs credit card was closed due to lack of use so had to open another one. I saw my name miss-spelled several times on documentation & I advised correct spelling along with correct email. Salesperson corrected more than once as I sat & waited. He had trouble getting the documents for me to sign so told me to look for an email to sign & return. I waited 15 hours for email & never received. Had to call Bobs Furniture next day only to learn my name & email still miss-spelled so now a new Docusign doc had to be sent for me to sign. I was told it was due to Wells Fargo. If that’s the case, don’t think I’ll ever open another bob’s credit card with Wells Fargo again. And not sure why so hard to get my name spelled correctly?
