The Mousetrap cheese is the best cheese you'll ever taste. It's wonderful. I think I'm right in saying it's free delivery for any order worth over £35, but saying that, I usually spend between £70 and £110. We can't resist it.
Gorgeous cheese that everyone should try, most especially their Snowdonia and the honey and fig cheese. It's soooo good. I'll definitely order from them again.
So I will thrilled to see gold foil Appenzeller cheese on their website. It was described as black label. What was delivered was a half the price cheese called Kaltbach. It’s a totally diffferent cheese and nothing to do with the Appenzeller canton! It has black rind with Kaltbach on it. No Appenzeller obviously on the rind. They are dishonest in this sale and I shall be approaching trade and standard! When I spoke to the shop they told me Appenzel and Kaltbach are the same cheese! Avoid this shop!

Hi Raphael, As I have said when we spoke to you about this matter. There was a short time when we couldn't get the Appenzeller branded Appenzeller, but we could get the Appenzeller that kaltbach mature in their caves. It is made by Appenzeller and then matured to black label status by Kaltbach and does show that on the label. I am very sorry that you were so disappointed. We would always normally get in touch with a customer if we needed to substitute a cheese, but as it was still black label appenzeller (albeit under the kaltbach label) we didn't which was obviously a mistake in hindsight. We did charge you the price that it should have been so please don't worry, we definitely didn't pull a fast one on you. For those that care, we have now got a reliable source of the Appenzeller branded cheese back so all is good again in cheese world. Sorry again Raphael!
I recently ordered the goat’s and ewe’s milk cheese selection online as a birthday present (hard to find a selection that didn’t include cow’s milk cheese - thank you). The cheeses were big wedges, really nicely wrapped, and I was really grateful to Claire who helped me fix a mistake I made on the order and went the extra mile as well. Thanks Claire 🤩
We were excited to visit the Hereford shop and the selection of cheeses is amazing but our group of 5 felt that the service from one lady was abrupt and rude. We had been offered tasters (one small sliver) of cheeses we were interested in and were buying as we went. The person who wasn’t serving us suddenly turned on us about tasting cheeses being uneconomical so we paid (nearly £40 for what we had chosen so far) and left. I went back later to say how upset we had been and received even more abrupt treatment.

Hi Judith,
I know this was a long time ago, but I thought I should reply for the benefit of trustpilot. I am sorry you were so unhappy with your service. The 5 of you came in and had each had samples of quite a lot of cheeses and as a group bought a few small pieces as you went along. I politely pointed out that I couldn't keep giving you tasters for everything when you'd been there for a little while. This was obviously because with all five of you trying many cheeses, it's a lot of cost. I could see that you took great affront to my polite request and left. It may be that you took my extreme awkwardness at saying this as 'turning on you', but I certainly didn't mean to be abrupt if that's how it came across.
Now we give tasters out ALL the time, ask any of the thousands of customers through our doors, and I very, very rarely ever say this to any customers (actually I think a few times ever in the 15 years that I have had this business).
The fact that I didn't change my view when you came back in to tell me off that this 'cheese tasting' was a part of your friends birthday that you had organised and I'd ruined the whole day obviously didn't sit very well. I still stick by what I said (politely), we're happy to give tasters, but we are a business and can't just give away more cheese than we sell. You'd all tried plenty of cheeses and normally people realise when enough is enough and really it was a bit unfair to expect us to keep going..

The Mousetrap cheese is definitely for the connoisseur. They produce delicious cheeses and are free delivery for over £35, which is a steal for what you get. Honestly, if you're a cheese lover - you should try the Mousetraps 'Snowdonia' and their goats brie, it's absolute heaven to eat and the nicest cheese I've ever eaten. This is the best cheese you'll find anywhere, that I promise. It's the cheese experience you'll never forget. 100% indulgence.
