My 10th Order and We’re Basically in a Toxic Relationship Now
I asked the question, "Will I buy more?" Yes I will and at this point I’ve ordered from Morris Works Fabric ten times, which means one of two things: either they’re excellent… or I have the impulse control of someone who sees a “new arrivals” email and immediately blackouts.
Order #1: Just browsing
Order #4: I could make curtains.
Order #7: I definitely need 14 metres of obscure floral cotton.
Order #8 Accidental purchase when trying to shop online at Morrisons supermarket. Google now defaults to Morris Works as soon as my finger touches the letter M.
Order #10: I now own enough fabric to make quilts for a small nation.
The quality? Honestly very good. Every package arrives like it’s bringing me hope, and each time I open it I say, “THIS is the last fabric I need.” That statement has now been proven false ten times.
Shipping has been reliable, colours are usually accurate, and the fabric descriptions haven’t yet tricked me into accidentally buying something that feels like a haunted tablecloth.
My only complaint is that Morris Works seems fully committed to enabling my delusion that I am one weekend away from becoming a master upholsterer/interior designer/quilter/fashion icon. I am not. I am simply a person with a growing fabric pile and unfinished ambitions.
I have to own up to the fact that while I've placed 10 orders only a couple had just one item.. I counted TWENTY-SIX items, 2 jelly rolls, 2 fat quarter bundles, a charm pack and the rest is yardage or whatever the metric equivalent is. I always work on the assumption that if a pattern calls for half a metre I need to double it in the unlikely event that I want to make it again and the "less is more" rule cannot be applied to the purchase of fine cotton fabric. I refuse to add up how much money all these items have cost me because I prefer my finances the same way I buy fabric: measured in vague lengths and deliberate denial.
Would recommend — but only if you’re emotionally prepared to explain to your family why another suspiciously large parcel of fabric has arrived. Again.”

Your reviews continue to be an absolute highlight for us, and this one had me laughing all the way through. I especially enjoyed the “Morrisons vs Morris Works” situation — I’m not entirely convinced we’re not partly responsible for that…
I’m so glad everything has continued to arrive reliably and that the fabrics have lived up to expectations each time. And for the record, we fully support your approach to fabric quantities — “in case I want to make it again” is a very sound and sensible strategy.
As for enabling creative ambitions… I’m afraid we will not be changing our behaviour on that front.
