the ordering process and ability to preview the photobook was all amazing and went smoothly, and being able to receive relatively consistent responses to questions or concerns was helpful as well.
i ordered two hard cover copies of a photobook I made, and while the overall image quality was great and matched the photos I had on my computer there were small scratches across the covers, even when they were wrapped and tightly packaged which makes me assume they weren't handled carefully before shipping.
however what was most disappointing was one of the books had some pretty large printing errors on a few of the images that was far more than just the colours being a bit inconsistent. one of the images has an obvious line down the middle where the colours are offset on the same photo: more cool toned on one half and warmer toned (like it was meant to) on the other half.
Two other images also have some vertical text which I have no idea what might have caused it to appear. the text is faint on one of the images but stood out quite a bit on the other, which was incredibly disappointing to see.
I am happy with the one photobook without the errors, however these errors I've described appearing on the other photobook feel like a pretty severe mishap and I feel would warrant a re-print.

We ordered 400 copies of our magazine and booked a launch party 2 weeks after the estimated delivery date. When our order came, a week late, the copies were misprinted. In the span of 5 days, the Mixam customer service and production team reprinted all 400 copies perfectly and shipped them to us with a whole day to spare. Danielle and Sheila were very helpful. Maria was amazing, ensuring I was kept informed every step of the way, updating me with production status frequently, and even calling me to check in after the packages were delivered. While we were originally worried about this misprint, the customer service team was SO kind and SO efficient that we would absolutely order again. 5 stars because, although accidents happen, their team made sure to resolve everything in time. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The communication before my book went to production was great! Mixam made sure that everything was in order and I felt like they had great attention to detail. The product I received itself was amazing! I was so happy when I opened the box and held it in my hands. It was also quite a bit ahead of schedule. Thank you!

first time trying Mixam and wasn't sure how the booklet would come out - turns out i am very happy with the result, the promised deliver date respected and super quality for the price! Paper is silky smooth and quite opaque so double sided print came out great and saddle stitch is well made and everything is cut tight and strait - top notch end result!

My print job was delivered on time, the print quality is excellent, the only thing they could improve is the application for creating the flyer, I think it has very few tools.

I decided to self-publish a children’s picture book and scoured the web for a Canadian book printer that would work with landscape 8.5 x 11” paper. I lucked out when I discovered Mixam. I can’t say enough about the quality of the final product, I was so impressed that I’m now using them to publish a 460 page family tree book.

Mixam offers a wide range of options including custom sizes, paper weight, coating, binding and cover finish along with a few cool features like foiling and a bookmark ribbon. They have an exceptionally generous page limit of 700 and will ship to multiple addresses.

The minimum number of books per job is reasonable (25 for my children’s picture book) and I was particularly impressed that for a family tree book you can order a single copy. Online set up and file uploads are simple, there’s a great preview feature and they provide an easy to use pdf template based on your book specifications.

If you’re longing to hold an exceptional book in your hands, I definitely recommend Mixam.

Overall pretty happy with the order - we chose Mixam because it was the best price. The sample we ordered was great. When our full order arrived it was 3 business days late and the paper was different from our sample.

I was very pleased with the technical assistance I received and the quality of the reproduction was excellent, over all very pleased with the quality and the cost. The only issue preventing a 5 star review was the printing of the covers which weren’t the same as the proofs I had been sent, the colours were off and were darker the original, the same images appear within the book which are perfect. Is this a result of the laminate finish ? It is a lovely silky smooth finish which was a pleasant surprise but colour and tone are off .
What can be done for future orders?

The print on the paper looks good, the zines are a not flat though and just don’t look super nice. They open (Cant stay closed) and have an ugly bulge. Its fine. Im a bit disappointed though.

Customer service was incredible and everyone I spoke with was very knowledgeable. They also went above and beyond to ensure I received my order quickly.
