Disappointing experience
We were really looking forward to Mini Maestros, but unfortunately we didn’t have a positive experience. The group leader was frustrated that our children kept getting up to dance and wanted to touch the different instruments. The kids were 13 months old, so I’m not sure what she expected. We were made to feel like our children were “naughty” and left feeling disheartened and disappointed. We’ll be going back to Musical Minds where the children are encouraged to play, experiment, and develop a love for music.

Hi Erin. Thanks for taking the time to send in your review of your free ‘Come and Try’ class. We are sorry you felt it wasn’t a positive experience. Our teachers know that all children need to move to learn and it is why our program is designed with lots of movement in mind. In babies classes where most of the children are not yet crawling or walking, the movement is done with the carers in lap plays and dances. The 1-2 year old class is far more active to match where the children are developmentally. In that age group the children have more opportunities to move, dance and explore the space. They also are able to play instruments more independently. It sounds like your child, at 13 months and already walking, would have been better suited to a 1-2 year old class rather than the babies class that you tried.
